That's a terrible battery. You want to get an authentic LG, Samsung, Sony, or Sanyo... preferably an LG HE4 or LG HG2, Samsung 25R or 30Q. Also, get the batteries from a reliable source such as LiIonWholesale.com or imrbatteries.com

Like Shawn Hoefer said, a terrible battery. That 9900 mAh rating is about three times what any 18650 battery's actual capacity, and it seems like it doesn't have any capacity at all. If it would work at all it would most likely be dangerous (so you're lucky in fact). Get safe chemistry high drain batteries by Sony, LG, or Samsung (pretty much everything else are ridiculously overrated rewraps) from a trusted vendor.

Yes, red flags came up when I saw your battery. There's no such thing as a 9900MaH battery, and I can almost certainly say it's a dangerous battery to use. I recommend not using those batteries.. and probably best just to trash them for safety sake. Chalk it up as a lesson learned. This video is kind of long, but here's someone who put those batteries to the test... skip to 11:20 to see his capacity test on this battery.

Now, for the recommended batteries, I recommend something 20 amps or higher (20a). Amperage limit is how they measure how much energy the battey can discharge at one time without heat becoming an issue and being unsafe. Mooch has done his own testing, and has assembled a list of recommended batteries at different amperage limit. here's that list.

Feel free to ask any question.. Hopefully we helped you avoid any dangerous discharging.

That's a good one, if authentic.

What atomizer are you using? You may have pushed it down too far and damaged the pin on the xcube, but before we go there, please please PLEASE get a decent battery! I think that is a protected cell, and should not be used in anything other than a flashlight! Did you force the battery into the mod? LG/Samsung/Sony batteries and the like found in that chart above.

I wouldn't use it without at least an LG HE2 in there. I know some of these Joytech mods are notorious for atomizer short errors. Try this: if you have an atomizer with a .5ohm coil, use that at 30w and see if it still continues. Also, try loosening the tfv4 slightly and try to fire. But PLEASE, get a better battery first. You're risking damaging the regulator by using a sub-par battery or worse...damaging yourself!

Not sure how Joyetech comes into it because I believe the X Cube is a Smok mod? Regardless do take care of the battery issue then see if the "short" message is still there.

If it is and you have another tank try that and see if the message is the same. If it is then it is probably your mod that has the problem. If not then it is most likely your tank. Can you take it back to a shop you bought it from, if so then do so. If not then you will have to try and sort the problem yourself. If that mod allows you to download to it then update its program. Otherwise look to see if there is anything else obviously wrong with it. If you see nothing obvious then it may be a matter of replacing it.

If it is the tank that is the problem then you need to look it over carefully. The threaded connection is your negative and the center pin your positive connection. Being as they are both Smok products they should be compatible but look to ensure the center pin extends slightly below the threaded connection surrounding it. It has to connect to the center pin in the mod without allowing the threaded part to touch that center mod pin. Follow the connections up through the tank's base ensuring there is no way they can touch positive to negative right up to the coil. Try a different coil. When you study it it is fairly obvious how it works and what therefore could be wrong. The message is simply telling you that somehow the positive is coming in contact with the negative prior to them meeting through the wire coil itself.
Good luck with it.

YES. Best batter there is for a regulated mod. Those batteries you have are for a flashlight and are not high drain batteries.
You should thank God that it didn't work. When you pull 20A off a battery rated for 0.3A bad .... happens. (just guessing at the Amp. I got the 0.3A by looking up flashlight bulbs close to 3.7V and the bulbs were rated for 0.3A.

PR18 Flashlight Bulb P13.5S Base, PR BULB 7.2V .55A 4.2CP, #PR18 MINIATURE BULB, #PR18, PR18, #PR18 FLASHLIGHT BULB #PR18 BULB, #PR18 MINIATURE, #PR18 LAMP, #PR18 MINIATURE LAMP, #PR18 MINIATURE LAMPS, #PR18 INDICATOR, EIKO# 40096

This is a flashlight bulb requiring 2 cells. For a single cell you can halve the values. Even 0.55A for 2 cells is far below 20A for vaping. If you put those in a mechanical mod, they would blow up instantly. Thankfully, the IC protection on your mod prevented them from firing.
Sorry, I couldn't find any better info, since this is a rewrapped battery. (not made by the company printed on the label)

Get a 20+ amp battery from Mooch's list, from a trusted vendor. You seem insistent on using dangerous overrated batteries.

Like what others said, it could very well be the battery. Batteries are not something you should go cheap on, and even then the difference between a good battery at a decent price, and a cheap battery is about $6 USD or less.

You mention you have a Smok TFV4. That needs a good battery that is safe. That list I gave you lists many good batteries.

I am assuming you're from Israel. I do not know Take Air myself, but it does look like they sell legitimate and good products. Everything on their site is aimed at what you should need. The two batteries on that site that I would recommend is the Samsung 18650-25R, and the LG HG2 18650. The company also sell Efests, but the two I listed are known to be good.

A few more things to learn:

if your mod needs two batteries, get two batteries of the same type and at the same time, and always keep them together and charge together. If your mod takes three batteries, keep those three together always.

Never keep batteries in your pocket. It is too easy to damage them, and if you have keys in your pocket, it can make the batteries catch fire.

Get a good charger. That site you mentioned has a few good ones. If you can, get one that has four battery slots.

I hope that helps.
