I'm having trouble with multi-quotes. The problem is with the fact that when you click the Quote button on different threads it carries the saved quotes along to other threads.

So, I click on Insert Quotes and get a list of all the quotes I've saved so far (from all threads). But, I only want to use a couple of the quotes on this thread and leave the rest in my list until I'm ready to use them in the other posts.

I haven't figured out how to do this. I can either use all quotes,or I can Remove some and use the rest. But, then the quotes are Removed are gone!

You can't save them up and then sprinkle them around in different threads. The quote and multi-quote is designed to be used in a single post that you're composing.

yeah the kewl thing about this is......you can +quote across threads, but the bad part is, (and I do this all the time) +quoting in a long thread, go check another one and if you try it there, they're all there. I don't think there is really a fix for this. I've tried just deleting the ones I didn't want in the text box, but then it thinks I've used them, so I still lose them in the thread I grabbed them from.

Just As An FYI:

Possible Workaround . . . Open your "Blog" in a new WIndow > Start New "Blog" > Insert all "Muti-quotes" that Ya' like to use later > Copy and paste those "You" want to use now - while leaving all the rest behind . . . Save as Draft without posting "Blog" . . . Continuing doing what Ya' want to do on ECF . . . Later on when "You" want to quote something - the Draft can be opened and the information is there for "You" to use . . . Just a thought & I hope this works/helps for what Ya' want to do too . . . :D

EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention - make sure Ya' always save as draft so "You" DO NOT LOSE ANYTHING . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Now this is a cool feature! If you click on someones avatar, then click on their location, it will take you to a Google map showing that location depending on how you identify it, country, state, area, (like "Puget Sound") or city.

Just a thought about dark themes...would love to see something like this:

I agree that too much light gray is not very comfortable, but I was never able to use the dark themes before because my eyes couldn't handle reverse type. :2c:

Well - The "Google Link" said it is, so I guess it must be true . . .

Funny thing is - I was actually going to move there back in the 80's . . .

"My" BAD - Just couldn't resist, but it does prove a point that people really need to be just a little careful what they put down, especially since with this type of feature it is going to be so much easier for unscrupulous people to get even more information about "You" now . . . Just Sayin' . . . NOT NICE ! ! !

Katya, I have something even lower priority than you said..... any chance of getting the blue winky emoticon back? I know super low priority, but it might be sumpthin really simple. This winky looks like he got poked in the eye with a stick........How am I posed to flirt with that???

The blue winky has always been the first casualty of every forum upgrade... The blue winky and the green grin. Remember those?

I'm mostly ok with the current color scheme, but i wish either the message box was white, or the forum background was a shade darker. the lack of contrast and the single pixel outline makes it really difficult for me to tell when one post ends and another begins.

Am I the only one who is bothered by the alarming shade of pumpkin (or is salmon?) of the quoted post boxes?

I like the blues and the grays, but pumpkin?

That said, this new platform is growing on me. So many cool features. Kudos to ECF and thank you Admin and mods for doing a great job and for putting up with our constant whining. :)

And speaking of whining:

I still think that the User Name and Title should go above the avatar.

If you mean the boxes surrounding quoted posts, I don't see any pumpkin or salmon, I see a light yellow.

But really I replied to tell you I was going to like your post.... until I read the Spoiler. :glare:

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. The new software is who wants to spread them across to other threads, not me.

Thanks, Uncle. I think I'll just keep a text file open on my desktop all the time. Simple and fast.

Very nice! Cuts down on the excessive lght assaulting the eyes AND provides better visual separation of posts!

ok this chrome care your eyes is great for here, but it also turns every other website the same color. o_O You can disable it for a site, but that gets old. But at least it's easier on the eyes here.
One of the things I really like about Color That Site! is that you can change the colors by page, folder, site or domain and it won't effect anything else.

For me it's a light peach. :)

I tried changing background colors and such, but i have't yet found a way to change the inside and outside of the text box, though darkening the lines helps a bit.
