Question that may have been asked and or answered- my apologies to retired1 if you have to repeat yourself!!

I think I remember that you said that all ratings will transfer. When submitting feedback for a classifieds transaction we have to inlcude the link to the sale post. Being that the url linked to the feedback will be from this site, will it work or will the link be inactive or not found when clicked on the new software?

I do go back to those posts from time to time.

I just tested this on the testbed and it works just fine.

I just noticed it's kicking back to the original threads on the live forum. So I can't test this until we do the actual conversion and we shut this one down. However, it should work as we'll have the proper redirects in place.

Typically with software conversions for large boards, there's usually a provision in the server's .htaccess file to rewrite the old links. I assume we will have that provision. However, if the URLs for some reason are not rewritten then those links will be dead.

Also, I know you addressed this question to retired1 but I thought I'd chime in and see if I could help answer.

I just tested this on the testbed and it works just fine.

Failure to read the rules and stickies as well as the inability to search has been the scourge of Internet forums from day one. It's not going to change just because we wish it to, nor will it change with attempts to force people to do so.
