So, is there any chance of implementing a feature that would force people to read at least the last page of posts before asking a question that was just recently answered?
Once you figure out a way to get people to think, it's easy. 'course, that first step is a bit of a challenge...
And goes right beside getting them to read the FIRST post to, perhaps, address what the concerns of the OP actually were, not what the thread devolved into!
With the move over to Xenforo software soon, I guess as there's no Social Group available on the core software would you be getting the 3rd party add on for the Social Groups?
Also a shame there's no importer for the 3rd party social group add on so all the social groups will have to start over again i guess.

The addon is installed. Remains to be seen how social groups are going to work in the new ECF.
Do you mean the Groups as in what's found under Community in the top menu? If so, I do hope it works better. I joined one group here, only to find out that nobody in the group knew what to do with it LOL. It doesn't seem to be very functional or user-friendly. Instead of functional groups, we have these 1000+ page threads trying to serve that function - and I guess it works fairly well, but a good group function would be able to organize the information/posts a little better.
So here's hoping for something better in the new software (fingers crossed).
OTOH, if this is about something like FB groups (which I really know nothing about).. bah, humbug, don't care...

For those of us contemplating hosting\participating in a co-op, can anyone tell us if there is much chance of this going live before Thursday?
I already postponed it thinking XF would go live this weekend, I had rescheduled it for tomorrow thinking XF would be done. Things changed, I get that, but I still wouldnt want to go-live if XF might take the site down in the next few days.

We're looking seriously at starting Tuesday AM. We still have to finish the current import test and then ensure everything is good with it before we confirm, though. The base import takes over 12 hours. And then we have to do the other odd imports that aren't included with the primary one. Then we have to go through and make sure all the modifications and permissions are correct.
I am not sure, but I think I read I will still be able to read while you are doing the transfer, just not post, am I correct in that? Gots to have my ECF in the morning with breakfast.

Last I knew, yes, open for reading but not for posting.
