xtar wp2 charging probem

just got me a new xtar wp2 and when i pop in some flat top 18650 batteries ( efest imr and generic icr ), i have to wiggle the batteries to get the led to switch to red + charge. once its charging if i dont touch it works fine, but if i do move the batteries a little, it goes to green and stops charging. i wasnt expecting this :/ do i got me a bad charger ?

Mine does the same thing with some flat top 18650s (generic) but works just fine with my 18490s(aw). I have tested the generics when they come off the charger with a voltmeter and they are at 4.16 volts. So I think the charger may just be a bit finnicky.

ok thanks. initially i thought my charger was bad because i could not get the led to change to red(charging). The way the battery needs to be positioned looks awkward but it charges and tested fine with my multimeter afterwards. I thought it was cheap chargers that has these problems.

use a small earth magnet on your flat tops and that will safely solve the problem.

Yup! basically what you are doing is plastic surgery, adding a nipple to the bat

I understand that. My point was that with their newest offering it is not an issue.
