Only issue I have with both versions from FT is the annoying "new coil up/down" question that pops up once in a while (on both versions).....other than that they work just fine for me....and I like the looks a whole lot better than the Athena (and it's smaller :) )

Welp, first off, I think we all need a pic of the thinking man cube pose!!!

:)

I don't own an Athena, so I can't comment on that. Perhaps someone else will chime in? (dru, you beat me to even finishing this post, but there ya go, jordan!)

The Xvo does have that quality of the fire button (the squeeze, or trigger) and it's rather convenient, to say the least. The downside, if there is one, is that it fires VERY easily. Just a word of caution, but a small word.

I don't know what the annoying new coil up/down question is. Could you elaborate or link me? I basically just want to make sure this isn't a piece of junk and order the best clone version of this even if it costs a few extra bucks.

Some mod when in TC mode will ask this question when you replace the coil or atty....so it knows if it has to measure the resistance again.....so you'll see this question in your screen after changing coils, you than press up or down depending on if you used a new coil or the coil is still the same one.

The clones from fasttech ask this question at random moments (about once every 2 hours) even if you didn't change your coil or atty.....so you have to press the up/down button to continue vaping....not a biggie but it is annoying

I got mine from 3f which is working as it should - no new coil issue etc. If my memory serves me right, there was one that i read which got issue from them (after i made my purchase). The rest of the feedback are running fine (work as it should in vw; i wasn't going into tc so it didnt pay much attention to that). My advise is to get from 3f if you ask me but YMMV.

Also have two from 3fvape....they do the same thing....I (we) have 2 from 3fvape, and 2 of each version from FT (hehe yea I like them alot LOL), they all have this issue....I had one from 3Fvape that did it alot less though.....

I should also mention that I recieved different versions even when ordering the exact same SKU (both from 3fvape and FT), so it seems they just deliver whatever version they have in stock.

AND it does this even if you are using Kanthal and have made sure that you are out of TC mode.

don't get me wrong..other than that they are perfect....(else we wouldn't have 6 of them :) )
But if you can't stand the extra button press once in a while, which I can imagine...than yes you should stay clear of them :D or get the authentic, they work flawlessy (at least mine does :) )

WHEN they work, they work flawlessly. Once you get there (with the authentics), they're MARVELOUS. But getting there can be... "interesting".

I love both of mine. Now.:laugh:

T for Texas!
My first one from FT displayed the "new coil" message randomly and stopped firing sporadically.

I sent back to FT (after having to post vid :().. they sent me a new one which still asks the "new coil" question, even in wattage mode, but only when I actually change attys. Other than that works perfectly.

I do find the mod to "feel" heavy even though it isn't really but it's so compact and made of metal and does have a heavy "feel". Just my impression and YMMV.

Well I went ahead and ordered the clone from Fasttech. It's better for my needs, and I don't think the atty lock issue will bother me too much. Interestingly, I didn't see any people complaining about the issue on the Fasttech forums and they are usually pretty active over there
i think you'll be happy with it.

I decided to break my Clownstick out again yesterday, only used it for a few days when I first got it & since then it has sat in a drawer since I've been too busy playing with sexy Italian squonk mods BUT I wanted to revisit the Clownstick. I threw my STM on, blech, no flavor, completely muted, running a Ni200 OCC coil & haven't had the new atty message pop up once. I had no problems last time with the atty message either so I guess I got a good one. I still love the form factor & the clone chip works exactly like my genuine DNA40 chips in the Sunboxes so I ordered a new tank. I guess I'll start using the Clownstick a little more with a new tank. This little mod is still a win, it's a shame the authentic company can't get their act together & take care of their customers because I'd consider purchasing the real deal if they did.

So well understood, fishwater. I only wonder how many others feel this way and if they've posted on the authentic's thread.

Got my from 3fvape last week, and it's already in the trash. I got that annoying "new coil" almost every single time I took a hit off of it, and It didn't even remotely seem to push 40watts. Ran through at least 6 18650s a day on it. Then tried to take it apart and put an authentic dna40 board in it and that's where it really went bad. Oh well, that's what I get, same thing happened with my clone hana mods. If Chews releases the proxvostick with a higher watt board I'll be first to buy, otherwise I'll stick to my VT200 for now. Best of luck to you all
