Had a used ce2 and a 3ml syringe and put the best of both together.

I measured about 1/2 inch longer than the carto guts, cut about 1/3 inch of the carto tubing and slid them all together. It was a tight fit and 12 hours later, still no leaking. It's a much better vape than the old carto was. I'm going to try and resurrect some other cartos.

Since the syringe is the perfect diameter for the carto guts, I'm wondering if you could attach syringe pieces to a 5 or 10 ml bottle? I'm worried about gluing though...

Looks nice, great job! For a first tank mod, looks very promising!

Thanks, I know they're performing better than they did as cartomizers. The cartos I've converted have all been used once or twice. Perhaps there was some of that anti-bacterial coating on the wick that hindered past performance. I just gave them a nice hot rinse (so easy to wash and dry without the body on there) and a dry burn. The wick is nice and white, and the coils are glowy and residue free!

The next couple that I did, I didn't include the metal piece at the top, as the wee carto Drip tip fits the diameter of the syringe body.

it would look even better without the numbering on the cylinder hehe. nice job though.

Lol, I used alcohol to wipe off the graduated lines, as they were smearing off with a small amount of e-juice or alcohol on there anyway.

Working on conversion #5 when the kids go to bed tonight. Now I just have to pick up an extra eGo cone and grind the small end down a bit so the larger diameter syringe body fits in. I want the option of covering up the guts of my cheap-o-mizer when I want to.

Great, just realized I'm already planning mod #2... IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!

Right on!

I forgot to mention that I cut larger notches in the plastic cup that fits over the atomizer pot, to make sure there were no wicking issues.

They've been great for chain vaping, and I can fit 2mls in the tank.

I'm going to get ahold of an LED tonight and see if I can fit it in the tank also. I see there's a company selling them, but no instructions or tutorials anywhere.

Guess that's what testing is all about.

Well, it was tight, but it works! The pole is slightly banana shaped and it took some work getting the rubber cap back on the atty, but it really lights up and it's the same vape as before the LED mod.

I'm going to order some miniature LEDs and install one at the bottom...

That is one rockin tank mod! I love to see tankers that don't use all that glue. Glue breaks down in glycols very easily and would end up dissolving into the juice until it leaks imo.

We just have to remember that Propylene Glycol is a Glycerin-Alcohol compound (thus gly-col) and that it will eat up glue like a solvent.

Yeah, wanted to stay as far away from glue as possible. A little clear shrink tubing trimmed on the bottom has put my leak fears to rest.

update i s h
just got in from work+used the 2 xl flux/clearos all day!
w/that popular vid simple mod!
fluffing+removed 1 inner rubber ring!! had to tip upside down to help wicking!
or left on its side, when not in use

worked very well for me+have to admit i babied them on purpose
cos of there delicate nature, but nothing serious,

and last month i could not do any sort of long term vaping,
and these buggers went all day!:)

so...they may not be the ultimate answer but for me they are ok!
im not as picky i guess and am looking forward to trying those gigantomizors(sp?)

let the games continue.....:2cool:

Getting a mod working better than the original is awesome isn't it?

LOL! We postulated one day on Mr. Pibb's first name. I figured it was Roland.

I would so love to do this. Is it hard? I got packs of the ce2 r4 cartos and alot of the 3ml syringe. I just don't know how well I would do considering a screwed up a carto from trying to tea bag mod it.

Use a pipe cutter to score the syringe, then use an X-acto blade to cut through.

Don't forget to cut larger notches in the rubber cap for better wicking
