Hey all, I've been using this forum for my own learning and research since last January (approximately) when I myself first started using e-cigs. I remember I always did a lot of reading where people said that atomizers usually only lasted 2-4 months for most people, batteries breaking, etc. I still have all the same hardware that came with my original kit, and I use it to this day. Is this a rare occurrence at all? I always get big satisfying hits off my atomizers, one which I removed the bridge from months ago, and the other still intact as normal. My batteries also still work fine, other than a somewhat noticeable shorter use time. Plenty of paint has peeled off of each item, but appearance is no matter to me.

I'm just curious who else might have had such luck with their hardware seeing as it may not be normal for it to last so long.

I am a very heavy user as well, my friends have never seen me without my e-cig unless I was out of juice for a few days. I also don't clean them regularly at all, only when I start to notice a lot of junk build up, but it never accumulates too much really.

EDIT: I have a Joye 510 model with two manual batteries, and I ordered them from CigNot.
The juices I have used most have been from Halo, VaporBomb, and Johnson Creek, always the quality stuff and never Dekang.

Well I couldn't tell you about the atomizers since I never use them, but I've had my nebula starter kit, and my silver bullet for over a year each and they still work perfectly fine. Most of the people who complain about constant upkeep of e-cigs either buy from a supplier who doesn't care about what they ship out, or don't know basic rules of cleaning things. All I've done to both of mine is clean the threads every now and then, make sure there isn't juice between the battery to carto connection, and not drop them out of windows. Both still work just as well as the first day I bought them.

I don't want to name specific suppliers here but some are well known for shipping low quality products, mostly due to mass production. The two suppliers I bought my products from (AltSmoke and VaporNine) are two of the best (if not THE two best) around. People need to do more research on a specific supplier before they give up hard earned money.

I'm still using my 510 and Ego kit atties from last May. I've rotated through the standard atties and several Ego Type B cylinder atties. I'm on my 3rd cylinder atty. The first two lasted 4 to 5 weeks and the 3rd is still going after almost 4 months.

I use the cylinder atties almost exclusively, so they get more use. I'm using a standard LR atty on a 510 battery, also, and getting great taste and vapor from it. It's mostly used as a backup and juice testing since it is easier to clean and you don't lose much juice when you wash the filler.

I still have one original Ego battery left and all the original 510 batts still work. I try to keep two for rotation and one for backup.

i'm at a year with an original eGo battery - still has the same battery life. I do have 3 that I rotate though. As for atomizers...well I keep trying new ones so I don't use the original ones anymore. They still work though, I've never killed an atty **knock on wood**

So yes, cleaning and rotating your hardware will significantly improve its lifespan. The suppliers (not all) just want you to toss it after a few months and buy a new one :)

I'm getting close to the one year mark (April 5th) and I'm still using the attys and batteries I started with. Well, let me clarify---I purchased an Ego kit two weeks after I started with the 510 kit. The attys look like they've been left out in a hail storm but they just keep on puffin'. I got a little concerned when I read posts where people were getting only a month or two of service from their attys and I purchased extras so I'm rotating 7 but so far I haven't lost one. I'm a very heavy vaper so they've been put to the test.

I have never burned out an atty, not a single one. I have a plethora of them for the e-cig doomsday scenario but I really only use two. Both are authentic Joye brand 510's, one being an LR and the other a standard resistance. I have been using the standard for 10 months or so and the LR for around 8 months. They both work like new. I have no idea where this 2-4 week/or month thing comes from and it's strange that it's so adomently preached to everyone. In fact, out of all of my friends that vape, I only know of one atty that burned up and that was a 1.2ohm that the guy was trying his first dry burn on.
