So I headed down to my local Vape Shop looking for some good 18650's for my new mod because all my other batteries were occupied. I asked the dude to give me two of the best batteries they had and he whipped out these MXJO's. I'd never seen them before and they said they just started carrying them. It's a 3.7V 2500MAH 35A battery so i said why not and bought two for about $30. I went home excited and looked them up because I had never seen them before. To my disappointment. I discovered rumors that these batteries I had bought were just re-wrapped LG batteries. So what I'm getting to is, does anyone know FOR A FACT, that these are in fact, re-wrapped LG 18650's?

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

These are from two different shops, same price, different name. I kinda figured they were rewrapped "something". I have better coming in the mail.
So they do last a while, they don't even get warm in the mod during use. I'm not worried about using them but the rewrapping thing is a pissoff if they are fudging the actual amp rating.

Wow, AWT??? Now I'm ...... off. Didn't know you could get away with something like, re-wrapping a battery. I feel like that would be violating our safety as vapers.

They arent really fudging the amp rating they actually are rated to be pulsed to 35 amps for a specific amount of time but to be extra safe about it most will not do any builds that pull more than the continuous rating. Most of these batteries can be pulsed for like 60 seconds or so at a much higher than the continuous rate. So tell me how often do you press the fire button on your mod for even lets just aim high and say 30 seconds. Thats still under what the battery is rated for. The continuous is what its rated for if from fully charged to a specific voltage you could press the fire button and no damage to the battery or you should happen. So technically you are always pulsing the battery. I also dont cadon in making builds that pull more than the continuous amp draw either. I do know of one person that does though and does it with the same spec batteries just from efest and it doesnt get warm at all except for the rda which is normal.

Alot of fakes and counterfeit products are made in the same buildings as the authentic versions for many products. These big name companies sell their products that dont meet strict QC or older/over stocked or outdated products to smaller brands knowing they will be rewraped or whatever so they arent at a complete loss for what they are getting rid of. Have you ever seen a clothing store that has the same clothing as a big department store well where do you think they got it from. Department stores wont sell it if the box it came in was damaged usually and they sell it to other stores that are gling to sell it at a discount. Its really a common practice.
