Yep, I'm new too. And I think I already messed up. :(

I started with The Safe Cig..and within a week or two had gone with V2 because, compared to TSC, it was much more economical. I did fine with the V2 for several months. They are decent for cig-a-likes. Maybe not as good as Volts, but still..they do have a really good warranty, and some of their flavors are outstanding. You'll be okay with them. They helped me, and I still have my V2s in one of my vape storage boxes for possible back up (in extreme emergency, since I have so many other APVs now) or to give to someone who might be wanting to try out the e-cigs. They are a good starting point. One of the only big drawbacks I can think of is they do ship a bit slow. Otherwise...they are okay. You'll be fine.

I'm vaping on a V2 right now. Personally, I don't regret getting it at all. I got it in December, and my husband got a kit, too. He probably should have gone cheaper because he hardly uses his now, though. Anyway, it got both of us off analogs and made switching to an e-cig easier for us. If it's working for you, in my opinion that's all that matters. I've already ordered an eGo-C Twist and accessories, but I still plan to use my V2s while in the car, etc. because they're small and convenient. It's only a waste of money if you let it be a waste. Get some clearomizers and shop around for ejuice and I'm sure you'll do just fine.

There's a TON of info to absorb about e-cigs, and the V2 seemed really simple, so that's why I got it. After using it for two months, I started to understand more of the terminology and what people were talking about concerning volts, etc. Now, I feel ok with getting something "better," but I wasn't comfortable getting something large that seemed complicated in the beginning. There's no real reason to spend a ton of money up front on the newest, fanciest thing. Figure out what you do/do not like with the V2, keep researching, and go from there.

ETA: Oh and V2 customer service is pretty good. My husband gave me his USB cig and it went bad in less than 6 weeks, I think. They gave me suggestions, then when those failed they immediately shipped me a new one. I just had to return the bad one within 30 days so I didn't get charged for the replacement, and I had to pay return shipping, which I was ok with. They also have a 30 day money back guarantee on kits, I think.

i didnt read all the responses but the 15 or so I did read didn't to me mention the more obvious couse of action

when the v2 arrives, dont even open it...you can probably return it pretty easy that way and get something else that is cheaper and better

i agree with with the person who told you to keep your real cigs...a lot of vaping newbs do have a transition period where they smoke a few here and there and then eventually dont like the taste of the real ones anymore

good luck, and welcome to the forum

The nice thing about e-cigs is, if you don't like the one you have, there are LOTS more choices. :) I started out with a fairly inexpensive 'kit' about 3 weeks ago. Am about ready to go dip my toes into something 'more'....starting with the liquids. Oh, and more batteries! One ran out on me today, in the middle of vaping. I think I need a couple back ups, since the ones I have don't seem to last too long.

I had a V2 my only gripe with them was the inconsistency of their pre packaged carts. And battery life was not enough for my level of vaping. I was carrying around extra batteries and carts too much trouble. But it did keep me smoke free till one day I lost one of my spare batteries and one died then I was back to analogs. Then fast forward a few months and I saw a whole bunch of smokers I knew had all made the jump to Provaris and so I took the plunge again. Glad to be smoke free again. The V2 isn't an inferior product really just depends on what you need out of it.

I agree.

I think making the switch is much easier if you don't put a ton of pressure on yourself. Vaping can be so much more fun than smoking - and so much tastier! - so there's no need to make it a chore. Give yourself a choice, and soon you'll find yourself choosing vapor over smoke without even trying.

That's the beauty of it, really. :)

I started with one BluCig then found a Choice 7's "One" kit locally. I liked everything about the kit and promptly ordered refillable cartomizers, carrying/charging pack, an extra battery and a USB pass-through to vape while browsing the web or driving to save battery power on the regular batteries. Have bought 2 bottles of their e-liquid, which I still like.

Then I discovered there was more out there and that my 7's did not accept other brands accessories. It was a difference in threads for attachments. I have spent over $150 just with the 7's. This week I purchased my first eGo setup and really like it. You can view it here: eGo 900mah Starter Kit - $40.99 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids $40!!

You will have to buy some e-liquid to use with the kit. There are many other start-up sets out there. Look at the sights of the vendors listed on the forum.

Enjoy the journey. You can succeed!!

I started with V2 and from day one I never smoked another cig. As soon as I started vaping I knew it would work so I gave my partial pack of cigs to a co-worker (who has now quit thanks to my vaping experience). The V2 worked for me to start with. It is simple and was a good introduction to me. I moved up to Twists within a week but the V2 stuff got me off cigs permanently. Almost six months in and not even one cig.

I would not recommend that someone starts with a V2 setup but I don't think it will equal failure for you. If it keeps you off cigs then it is perfect for you.

HI guys, I have been lurking on the forum for a bit today, reading all kinds of great information. What a great place to come and find support!

I am about a 15-ish year smoker, and I smoke about 3.5 packs a week of light cigs. This addiction is fierce and crippling to me. I HATE IT.

I finally decided to look in to the e-cig after seeing a couple friends succeed with it. They were using the drugstore brand, and I did some research and found people saying the ones you buy off the internet were better made.

So I hit Google, and like so many have found, I was suckered into the V2. I guess the marketing and the reviews I saw strewn everywhere sucked me in, and knowing nothing about anything, I went with it and ordered my Starter Kit. It will arrive Tuesday.

Now, after reading these forums and seeing what the vets say about V2, did I waste my money? Am I going to fail? LOL

Thanks new friends! Looking forward to ridding my life of cigarettes.
Andrea

Whatever gets you to quit smoking stinking cigarettes..I always say :)

I started with V2 as well. I actually still like their manual batteries. It's a natural progression, V2 type cig, move to ego set up, then start looking at VV mods. I have a stainless Vamo comming next week!!:D I bought all kinds of prefilled carts that I still have sitting here. I take the filler out and use them to drip new sample pack flavors. Maybe get some liquimax blanks and use those with your own juice. They actually work decent for what they are, and very nice for when your on the go. Don't feel like you wasted money, you can always utilize the stuff you get in your kit, even if you move on to bigger and better things.

I started on blu cigs and was unable to satisfy my craving. Then I tried what I read as "best" e-cig by gizmodo: Njoy and no go.

I then was given an ego-c and a vanila flavored juice. It was ok but I still craved smokes.

Then my buddies took me to Vape Revolution and I was tripped out by the experience. The juice bar was sick. Then I found Jameson's Irish Vapor Juice: Peaches and Cream. And I haven't wanted a smoke for 2 weeks now.

Don't open the package. <--most important

Write "return to sender" clearly on the package. Put back in mailbox. You will only be out the original shipping cost. Return to sender is free.

Cheap: get an ego-c twist

Expensive: get a provari

Regardless: get a couple packs of cartomizers, a battery charger, and some e-juice

Do this or you will regret it

Oh, one more question. Do I suck and inhale the e cig the same as a regular cigarette?

I've been vaping for several years and my conclusion is the strength of draw has to vary based on the device you're using but a general rule is a long slow draw is best. I suck it into my mouth, then inhale like I did with cigs but that is really personal preference.

It doesn't matter what you start with. The important thing is that you start.

Nearly everyone on here started differently. I, honestly, started with a 21st Century convenience store menthol. It got me through the first two days and entertained me enough (I was amazed that this vapor stuff looked and felt like actual smoke) to keep going. I moved to Kraze from another convenience store. The taste was better, and I hadn't smoked in 2 days.

Then, I bought an eCab, which I consider my only mistake. But, when I realized it was a mistake, it was 2 weeks later when I found an eCab to 510 adapter and had started moving to 510 compatible attachments.

The important part is that you started, V2 or not. Find something that works for you, not what you see fan-boys raving about on the forums.
