Paranoid. Slightly
Can you guys tell me if my battery looks fine. When the light reflection is slightly skewed I get worried of an absolutely minute dent in the metal. Am I being too paranoid and those things are fine? Sorry. Just always worrying. Thanks
P.s please ignore everything else in the pic. I'm always meddling.

Ha lol. Sorry guys. Most thanks indeed. Kinda realised there was nothing to worry when there was like 20 views and no comments.

Dear Zutankhamun,
I really envy you. I wish I have as much (OK, half as much) vaping enthusiasm. What a life I would have!
(No sarcasm, no nothing. Just pure jealousy).

Hey Alien. I'm more than fortunate to spend my time like this but I've got no responsibilities. No job, no dependants, I'm back with the folks atm. So much time to fiddle, worry, then fiddle some more. Thanks

Cheers guys. Good o. I'll have to find something else to worry about. Maybe vaping shouldn't be my most important priority :(

Actually... I'm glad

Figured this would be a good place to drop some battery damage questions. One has a piece missing on the bottom, a bunch of dents around the top. I believe all of this is from removing batteries from fingernails, and these things are all like 3 months old. What do you guys think? I'm hoping it goes like... ignore dents, put some tape or something on the one exposed piece of the one battery.

I'm a super cautious type with batteries. Dented? Out they go. A small nick in the sleeve I cover with tape or you can rewrap it. I will say that in the last 4 1/2 years of using mechs I've only had to toss 1 battery because of denting.

EDIT: Haktuspit that denting around the top looks like it could just be your wrapper. You could pull it off and see if the battery underneath is actually dented and rewrap it.

I haven't even ever used a mech and while I have a couple in my stockpile don't plan on using them anytime soon, if that means anything. All of my devices that use batteries are very new and regulated.

Regulated or not don't use a battery with a nick in the sleeve without repairing it.

Looking at that tiny nick on the positive end which Haktuspit posted that you can barely see through would be enough for you to rewrap that battery? I have one or two batteries that look just about the same, but as I can't see any metal under them I haven't bothered to rewrap them, and now wonder if I should.

I agree. Don't mess with nicks. Plus, if you already have a thinned out bit of case it won't take much before you have bare metal showing but you won't know it after the insert.

Rewrapping is so cheap and worth it.

On a side note. Some of my regs are chewing wrappers as well. Had to be more careful with my input. Since I've changed to using mechs not a scratch or tarnish in sight.
I think the regs encourage people to be more careless with their batts. That's a no no. :nah:

To me it looks like a bit of metal showing through on the negative end that I would definitely patch. The positive end looks like it might be dented but that could just be the wrapper crinkled. But I didn't notice anything metallic looking on it. But I'm a self admitted ridiculously overly cautious type with batteries. I haven't re-wrapped any either, I just patch with tape here and there as needed. But I also dispose of my batteries yearly and buy fresh, which is overkill I'm sure, but I just rest easier doing this way.

I have a bunch of wraps anyway, so I might go ahead and do it. My only problem is I don't have a hair dryer or heat gun in the house. The last time I applied a wrap on one of my mods, I kept passing it back and forth over my gas range about 2 feet over the flame. When my hand got too hot, I figured I'd pull back. A few passes back and forth like that got it on quite well. I'm not sure I want to try the same technique on a battery.

Might as well buy a hairdryer. Useful to have for assisting with defrosting any freezers you might have. See, a multi purpose tool. :D
