That would be super simple, just make the contacts recessed.
I don't know the dimensions of all conductive coins throughout time through the entire world.

But I bet there's at least one of each in the U.S..

If you're a senator, that should buy us at least a decade. [emoji38]

If not... assuming current U.S. currency only, then yes, would be simple.

It is not just the contacts it is connecting positive and negative either in the MOD itself or on a battery alone. Now you would think that the coins or whatever is making contact and carrying the voltage would start to heat up along with the batteries.
Would depend on the contact area.

If enough contact, current wouldn't heat it, the coins would have to dissipate the heat from thermal runaway, etc. for the coins themselves to heat up.

'Course that would take an anomaly or a buttload of metal in the pocket, but it's theoretically possible.

No, I have infrared temperature sensors and welding gloves!
Booooring...

Who takes safety serious these days?

I always thought it seemed like it would be hard to short out a battery with the terminals on opposite ends, like a 18650, with coins in your pocket.

Of course it is.

Otherwise all the cool kids would be doing it.

Wouldn't it just take a coin, or key, getting under the wrap on the positive end that's only millimeters away from the negative casing of the battery?

I've been pocketing my mods for two years now... Never had an issue. Actually, one day, when I was 10 beers deep, plus a couple of shots, my dna 200 was firing a crown coil in tc. I thought the battery was venting but nope the atomizer was just heat soaked, battery wasn't even warm! This incident was %100 user error. F the media, they don't report when someones house burns down from a cigarette but when a e-cig catches on fire they lose their mind. I trust the media less than a drug addict handling my money.
