Hi, I’m Pete, a musician - English living in the USA.
I smoked since I was 15 and now 62. Someone geve me a V2 starter kit for my last birthday and I have not smoked a cigarette since.
I need to move on though because I spend all my time, seemingly, refilling little tubes (Ex) and charging batteries.....
Need to find my way.
Thanks for reading!

Best, Pete.

hey Pete congrats on the switch and sticking with it. I feel for ya, I carried at least two batteries with me at a time and really hated the idea of needing an outlet constantly. Your battery problem is easily fixed by purchasing a bigger battery, I have a itaste mvp2 that lasts me all day of heavy vaping ( cost around $60). You can also buy a bigger tank, luckily the mvp can come with a 3ml tank that I found does a good job. I have been vaping for a good while now and have gradually evolved to higher and unfortunately more expensive gear. I took me a good while to find a setup that I was happy with, tweaking things as I went a long. Keep up the good fight and you'll get there

Happy Plumes

Hey, welcome, and glad to hear you've been off of the cigarettes.

It is a little confusing and there are a lot of options (a dizzying amount really), but people will have great suggestions for you if you're looking to move up to something bigger than the V2. I'm in the same boat as you, and while it took a couple of days research and asking questions, I have a pretty good idea of what I need. I hope you find what you need too!

Hi Pete... Congrats on the switch. I kept going back to cigs because I had a hard time finding the right setup. I agree with jabberwalkie and joesquid; I was afraid of "mods," and used an Ego + Protank setup. Unfortunately the Protank was one of the leaky ones, so I switched to an Aspire Nautilus. The Nautilus was killing my poor lil' Ego battery, so I switched to an itaste mvp2. It lasts through several days of heavy vaping before I need to charge it, and I can vape at my computer while charging it!

Having said that... I almost gave up on the Nautilus due to some issues that I was having with it. I was going through an atty a day; considering how much they cost when I first started using the tank... I was pretty peeved. However, I messed with the wattage (one of the advantages of using the mvp2), and discovered that I was screwing the base on to the tank too tight; I guess it messes with the airflow and vacuum within the tank. Anyway, I finally got it to work right, and a head lasts me a week of heavy vaping. The 5ml tank lasts me all day at work, and around 8 to 10 hours at home; depending on how much time I spend gaming on my pc.

If you don't like the "box" look of the mvp2, there are other batteries out there with the same/similar features to the mvp. I'm actually looking at the itaste vv 3.0 for my boyfriend since he doesn't like "the box." In my opinion, both batteries are good for those of us who are experienced enough with vaping to want something a little more advanced, but aren't experienced enough to keep from blowing ourselves up. :D

As for tanks... I prefer glass because I like to try different ejuice flavors, and I don't want to worry about whether the ejuice is going to corrode the plastic tanks. You might want to check out other areas of the forum to find out what others are saying about the different tanks; however, it might take some time to find a tank that works for you.

Welcome Pete!

Yes, when you first start vaping the terminology can seem overwhelming. Sit back, read for awhile and feel free to ask questions. There are many helpful people here to assist you on your new journey. I hope you can hang in there with the V2 until you get something better. I know that pain, I started with Blu!

One question - do you like a tube shaped device or would you be comfortable with a box shaped one in your hand? That's just a matter of your personal preference and there are many options either way. The mvp2 recommended to you is a good box mod and you wouldn't go wrong with it. I have little hands so most of the box ones are a bit big for me for comfort.

Oh! I just saw that gamerlady gave you some great advice & options. Yes, I prefer glass for the tanks too. You may experience some challenges as you try new things. That's part of the learning process and see how people help? It's the great thing about ECF.

Congrats on having a friend nice enough to get you a starter kit for your birthday!

Thank you everyone!
I’m a lazy so and so therefore I need

!. Something easy to look after.
2. Lasts me a day (I’m a heavy used and like to have it to hand at all times)
3,.Easy to fill and quick to charge - I’d like to use it whilst charging if poss.
4. I like the idea of something that is not cigarette shaped!

By the way how do you know if one brand’s tank will connect will work with another’s battery part????

Thanks again for being kind...

Best, Pete.

Based on your list of needs go with the MVP 2, It’s pretty much fool proof. Mine came with a good instruction sheet and I was off to the races. As for tanks I am having good luck with the Nautilus and Nautilus Mini. I don't know if I am a heavy user but my puff counter on the MVP is at 218 so far today. I swap tanks every so often to change up the flavor.

Hello and welcome to the forum Pete. Glad to have you here!:)

+1 on the MVP v2 (small box mod)

1. Huge (2600 mah) battery
2. Variable Voltage - Voltage can be adjusted from 3.3 ~ 5.0 in 0.1 volt increments
3. Variable Wattage - Wattage can be adjusted from 6.0 ~ 11.0 in 0.5 watt increments
4. Ohms Meter - Reads the resistance of your atomizer
5. Pass through ability
6. $40 shipped at many online stores

Pair it with a mini Naulitus [with the new BVC's (bottom vertical coils)] or a mini or full sized Aerotank, and you will have a great vape.

The MVP has both ego cone threading and 510 threading (these are the most common types of threading). Any tank that has either one of these would work on the MVP.

I third...fourth the MVP2. I have had mine about a week now and it rocks, especially coming from an ego-style battery. The life of the battery is great, charges fast and is pass-through. Now waiting for my new tank, and I will be rocking.
I got my MVP through Fluid Vapes.com Best price I could find so far.
Congrats on making the switch!

Yeah, it can be frustrating and confusing at first, with all the jargon and enormous variety of options. Not sure exactly where Scotch Plains is, but I'd suggest you take a little holiday into NYC and hit a few of the better vaping shops and handle some of the equipment. Don't necessarily buy, but play for a bit. I live in the country and try to visit the shops whenever I'm in the city. Browsing the internet doesn't compare.
As someone earlier responded, some people really like box shaped mods and some don't (I'm in the latter category.) Only way to know is by handling. This'll also give you a feel for the weight and balance in the hands. Best of luck.

Wow! So many helpful people!

I’m in New Jersey about 20 miles from Manhattan.

Name me a couple of reliable Online stores that take C.C’s and I’ll be up and running!

Btw my favorite E-Liquid is “Safari” - which seems to be based on Turkish style of tobacco - which is odd because I never smoked Turkish type cigarettes! I smoked British Rothman’s for years or Winston when I could not find them.

Thanks, again, guys.

Best, Pete.
