-don't mind if the cig is larger, but would prefer the best battery life because my main thing with smoking is just the action of it, and of course some nicotene
-prefer to find the most economical way to buy juice/cartos? don't know the difference really LOL

from reading it seems that with an atomizer you buy the liquid in bulk and fill up the atomizer yourself? or you can buy "ready made" cartridges that just screw on the end...am I getting this right? I don't mind refilling myself if it is more cost effective!

Either the KGo with a 1000mAh battery or the Epower with 1050mAh 14650 batteries would last you pretty much all day.
The most economical juice solution is—once you know what you like—to buy larger bottles and do your own refilling.

With an atomizer by its lonesome, you'd be dripping—or using a cartridge, which you don't want to do. Cartridges suck.

The other option—chosen by the majority—is a cartomizer.

Thanks all!

I was going to order tonite and of course have become confused ;) I was ready to order the KGO V2 Vision Kit in glossy pink and figured I would go with the 1100mah (that's a longer battery right?) but then I saw this in the description and got scared:

V2 Vision Ego Cartomizers (Standard Resistance only, LR will produce a burnt taste on the higher voltage KGO batteries)

I want the black cartomizers to go with the pink but it looks like they are out?

Am I getting this all correct? I was so excited to buy it tonite!

Oh, and if I do get this, do I have to order "juice" or liquid to go in it also???

Yes you will have to get you some juice if you order. Also i don't own a KGO but i do know people that use LR carto's on as much as 4.3 on provari's. So i would ask around but i don't think you will really burn your juice, but as my exwife will tell you i am often wrong. That said i think the purple would look cool on pink too:)

OH
Hi, dancergrrrl and welcome!

KGO is a very good option.

Just to clarify - the way this works is that you should buy juice / e-liquid from one of the very many vendors that sell it, and you will then fill your cartomizers.

It looks like you want to try the Vision eGo clearomizers which is not a bad idea at all either. They are transparent so you could just get a clear one and it will go with any color :)

There are a couple of things you should know about them. I am not sure why they say the lower resistance ones do not work on the KGO - I am using one right now and it is a 2.2 Ohm - at a voltage that is much higher than what the KGO puts out and there is no burnt taste. In fact, to get a warm, full bodied vapor on the KGO you need "low resistance" attachments. The magic numbers are 1.7 Ohm to 2.5 Ohm. And stay away from cartos marked as "dual coil".

The other thing, that is usually not obvious, is that as you vape with those cartomizers you need to get in the habit of tipping them downward from time to time to charge the wick and coil. If you don't, then it may happen that not enough liquid gets to the coil and then you will get a burnt taste.

Next, although you can refill your cartomizers many times, you need to remember they are ultimately disposable and will break down at some point and you must have a few of them - don't buy just one.

Finally, there are other options of "heads" you can put on your KGO. In time you probably should explore some more of them and see what fits you best. My advice is that no matter what else you get, take at least one pack of these Boge 2.0 Ohm cartos so you just have them. They offer a very consistent vape and are the "default" head for many people. You will need to learn to fill them, as they are not as straightforward as the Vision eGo.

Good luck! You're off to a great start!

Thanks all!

I use the LR Clearos on my Kgo without problem and also use the Smok Tech XL 1.7 single coil LR cartos without problem.

Best to get sample packs cuz there will be many juices you HATE.
I would also suggest you buy a spare charger

and also an atomizer to test the taste of your juices before committing a carto to it

The Volt kit recommended is a good choice if you want a smallish unit. I have a word of advice though, don't buy a ton of methol juice or cartos as your tastes WILL change once you put down the smokes. I smoked the same cigs as you for near 35 years and now I rarely even use any menthol or mint flavors. Get enough supplies to go a week or so and then get some sample packs of various flavors...

Great Advice I smoked Newports for nearly 30 years (my poor lungs) and now rarely vape menthol.

when i ordered my V2 kit, it came with one manual and one automatic. i found that i liked using the manual one a lot more. i only used the automatic when i had to charge the manual one. and as soon as it got charged up, i used it asap! lol .. you do get use to the button very quickly. its a lot better, in my opinion.

When ordering from the Smokeless Image site, you're given a choice (by drop-down menus) of either manual or sealed auto batteries.

While I completely understand finding the button on a manual to be awkward, autos have a tendency to fire on their own, triggered by a variety of noises.

In any event, If you progress beyond the cigarette-like types into more powerful devices, you'll find that they're all manual. The strangeness goes away pretty quickly.
