Hi Pete... Congrats on the switch. I kept going back to cigs because I had a hard time finding the right setup. I agree with jabberwalkie and joesquid; I was afraid of "mods," and used an Ego + Protank setup. Unfortunately the Protank was one of the leaky ones, so I switched to an Aspire Nautilus. The Nautilus was killing my poor lil' Ego battery, so I switched to an itaste mvp2. It lasts through several days of heavy vaping before I need to charge it, and I can vape at my computer while charging it!
Having said that... I almost gave up on the Nautilus due to some issues that I was having with it. I was going through an atty a day; considering how much they cost when I first started using the tank... I was pretty peeved. However, I messed with the wattage (one of the advantages of using the mvp2), and discovered that I was screwing the base on to the tank too tight; I guess it messes with the airflow and vacuum within the tank. Anyway, I finally got it to work right, and a head lasts me a week of heavy vaping. The 5ml tank lasts me all day at work, and around 8 to 10 hours at home; depending on how much time I spend gaming on my pc.
If you don't like the "box" look of the mvp2, there are other batteries out there with the same/similar features to the mvp. I'm actually looking at the itaste vv 3.0 for my boyfriend since he doesn't like "the box." In my opinion, both batteries are good for those of us who are experienced enough with vaping to want something a little more advanced, but aren't experienced enough to keep from blowing ourselves up.
As for tanks... I prefer glass because I like to try different ejuice flavors, and I don't want to worry about whether the ejuice is going to corrode the plastic tanks. You might want to check out other areas of the forum to find out what others are saying about the different tanks; however, it might take some time to find a tank that works for you.
