I have a friend of mine that has been vapping for a year now. ANALOG FREE. But whenever he is vapping I am usually smoking, so I have never paid attention or could detect any smell from the vapor. I was just curious if there was any smell at all? I know my wife CAN'T STAND cigarette smoke and has put up with it for 30+ years. Plus I was thinking maybe if there was a smell she might like the the carmel when I vap that. I don't think there is, that is kind of the point?? But wanted to check!

Thanks All for understanding I am new!

Cheers

It depends on the juice. Everything I've tried has a slight smell, but absolutely nothing compared to an analog. And it doesn't linger or attach itself to everything the way smoke does. My current tobacco flavor smells kind of like maple syrup. The fruit flavors smell a bit like a candy version of that fruit. But it is faint and it only lasts a few seconds before dissipating.

There's an odor, but it doesn't linger forever and isn't absorbed like cigarette smoke. To me, it's more like the scented candles. My juice doesn't have much odor at all (peach & menthol/mint).

My mom and sister vape tobacco juices and I smell more of a cocoa/vanilla/burnt sugar smell. Doesn't smell like a cigarette.

I have asked my kids and people at work when they have been in close proximity to me, like in the car or office and none of them have been able to detect any smell. I was surprised since one of my co-workers is super sensitive to odors, he has been on the discovery channel and odor eaters contests as a judge because of his sensitivity to odors, and even he could not detect any odor.

On the other hand, if you have been smoking for a while then you are the one who will experience the smells around you and tastes.....

That's odd. I definitely can smell it, and have had other people comment on the smell (always positive). Last comment I got - "it smells like you're cooking some waffles over there".

Thank you everyone! My concern was if I were vapping tabacco flavor that my wife would still have to deal with the nasty smell I am trying to get rid of!

Cheers

Then you have nothing to worry about. That nasty smoke smell will be a thing of the past. In fact the tobacco flavors that will most remind you of a cigarette are some of the least likely to linger.

Yes - in fact most of the flavor of eliquid is in the aroma. Your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (msg). It does not become "vanilla" or "cherry" or "chocolate" until you smell it.

Some tobacco juices can leave a strong smell (like Desert Ship - a Turkish American blend that is nutty and pungent). Some other juices also have strong aromas that stand out from the environment. But I've found chocolates and vanillas leave very little distinctive aroma around. Ditto for caramels. Fruits usually stand out more.

This, to me, is the best part about vaping. When I smoked, I never smoked in the house or in my car. Now I'm kicking back in front of the TV, behind the wheel, even in the office (secretly). I still won't vape in front of my kids, but other than that, it's total freedom. No more pulling into Rest Stops on the highway or ducking into the garage at home. Loving it.

I can tell you that there is definitely a smell!
The smell depends upon the flavoring.
I've been vaping a lot of Halo's Malibu.
Smells like coconut.

I know this because every time my girlfriend gets a whiff of it she reminds me that I'm going to have to cook her some coconut shrimp soon. (one of her favorites and something I only cook for special occasions or when I need brownie points)
She too hates the smell of cigarettes so I always smoked outside. She doesn't mind me vaping around her at all.

Hubby doesn't like the smell of my Boba's or Casablanca so I don't vape those around him (he's never smoked or vaped). There are some heavy tobacco vapes that will give off a strong tobacco smell while vaping. If vaped often it will leave a musty odor behind, especially high VG juice that creates clouds of thick, heavy vapor. But it's not even close to a nasty cigarette smell. A small air purifier takes care of it.
