Yep! The extensive use of acronyms in the forums adds to confusion in the beginning.
The most common acronyms are underlined and if you hover your mouse pointer over the underlined acronym you will see what it means.
examples: PG VG heads atty OP PV

Hello all, I am obviously new to this forum. I stumbled upon this amazing forum and group of intelligent people, and like many i'm sure, am overwhelmed. So I've been on analogs for 15 years and decided to try out an e-cig about a year ago. Unfortunately, I paid $50 for a starter kit from a store by my house because I jumped the gun and didn't do any research. I ended up buying a kit from a local Chicago based company, and thought that the lack of consistency was just the way these things work. So I got fed up lately from buying their screw on refills that don't work 1 out 5 times, and wanted to really research this stuff now.

I have been browsing here for countless hours today reading detail after detail and I must say that most of these acronyms on here are somewhat confusing. I was hoping that someone on here could help me with a little advice as to what I could put together as a newbie, such as an ego type. I have read many good reviews, but I want something that is simple and doesn't take much knowledge to maintain and is pretty consistent with a good feeling. I don't really like funky flavors (yet) just good old tobacco taste. Please feel free to make fun of me, and don't send me searching through the forums again! (lol, my eyes are killing me!)

Thanks in advance, I look forward to picking all of your brains!!

Thanks Boxster! I'm a super-noob to e-cigs. Well, to actually trying to understand and possibly buy one... I am on a tight budget so I gotta get the right value the first try or I wont be able to make this a habit. :blink:

When me and my wife made the switch we used our cigarette money for the week to buy the e-cigs. Talk about a budget, lol. IMO the egos are the best product for getting started and doing it on the cheap. There may be more advanced products on the market but the egos are cheap and easy. The rebuildable attys are a money saver too such as the ego-c, ce5, or vivi nova. Also DIY e-juice will save a good bit of money if you think you would like to try that. I can say for sure though that we have saved a ton of money by switching as well as becoming smoke free. A real win-win.

I love the acronyms post!! That was very useful to me :)

So if I picked up the twist kit (which I plan on doing because everyone seems to love it) everything is all set for me to get started? I would like to buy the bottles of liquid goodness and fill the tanks myself.

So all I need is these: eGo CE4 PLUS V2 Clearomizer / Vision/ Stardust ??

What other things that don't come with the kit are necessary? I plan on buying tonight!! :)

Hi again Littleski. Yes The kit in this post includes everything you need to get started, aside from liquid. The ce4 you have listed is one option. The kit you will be gettine from sweetvapes includes these http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?pag...color_plus.tpl&product_id=1206&category_id=39 You might just want a few extras of the same design. These are rebuildable, meaning replacement heads are available for the top portion. This is the part that eventually fails or becomes weak or too funky to continue using. The ones in your post are use and toss, no replaceable parts.

I would guide you in the direction of getting a few extra clearos(if thats your prefrence) and some replacement coil heads, like this http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?pag...color_plus.tpl&product_id=1234&category_id=39 . ANd with the twist you have the ability to run most ohm loads but I have found that the 2.4Ω to be the most wide coverage from rather cool at low voltage to rather warm at higher voltage(on the twist).

A few coil heads and a few bodys and you should be set for a good beginning. You can never have enough extras as far as gear is concerned. Sticking to the same gear will allow you at least some comfort knowing exactly what you have to get started. Any other questions, just ask.

Okay. I added these to my cart and want to click checkout, but i want to make sure I got everything before I do it.

http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1261&category_id=38

2x -> http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1234&category_id=39

1x -> http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=1206&category_id=39category_id=39

I hope these will work correctly. Another question im running into is whether or not I need some sort of adapter for the cartomizer to work on the twist or if it will screw on nicely by itself.

LMFAO!!! Did I really just get rickrolled!?

I'm happy I finally did this right. I bought from juice from Heathers Heavenly since that seems to be a great place based on this sites' reviews. I picked up 15mils of dark horse because a lot of people say it's like smoking M-lights which was my analog of choice. We shall see.

Thank you everyone for your time and input. I hope to learn more and be of assistance to another noob one day!!

Well then you did a double good job. Heather's makes great juice.
I have Darkhorse, Gandalf, Pirates Booty, Dragon's Fire, and Huntsman. They are all good.
I have Mocha Java Smooth, Shadowfax, Gollum and Tuscan Cocoa in my sights. :w00t:
