You do not have to profess REO love (at least, immediately) :)

I would like to profess my immediate Reo love. I loved Barnum (woodville) before I even had a battery. Now I am in vape heaven! I also love my little mini (Bailey)...but think a grand would fit better in my hand.
I also know there will be more wood in my future. But Barnum will always be special!

Two days in vaping on the mini (looks like the ego will be collecting dust now boohoo) ...of cause I'm in love with it

the only thing is - I'm going to need to figure out the happy medium between flooding it to the point of getting the juice in my mouth and/or forgetting to squish the bottle before getting the burned taste of the atty

...but for now I'm safe with pre filled fluxomizers until I get trigger finger under control :)

Have you read about blind squonking yet? This may help with that...and a little counting. When I first started, I started counting my drags before I need to re-juice the atty. After a little while it became second nature. Blind squonking is drawing on your drip tip while squeezing the bottle until you hear the first little gurgle. Then vape a 5 or 6 times, and repeat. See if that helps :)

Got my brand new Reo Grand a day or two ago and haven't been able to put it down... I did take the advice and cut the juice to a lower nic, thankfully. I was using a VV box with a tank and CE2's, got frustrated because I could never seem to keep the coil wet enough. Bottom fed, mmmmm! I was squonking before I knew what it was....

Anyway, for the dumb question, there was another little tube included in the pack, a reducer tube I think I've seen it called...
what's it for?

Sometimes thin juice in hot surroundings will self-feed. I've never needed to use it, but it's there just in case.

Very happy to read the first post in this thread!

I've been vaping with the Reo now for a few days. Here is my latest issue. When I "squonk" now, I don't hear that sound any more. I've been wondering if it has to do with how much juice is left in the bottle. See, I just squonked, after thinking of this idea, cuz the juice is getting halfway down. I pressed the bottom of the bottle and it made the sound. When it doesn't make the sound, I'm not sure if there is juice up in there or not. I have a clear drip tip, and when I do the silent squonk, I see juice come up in the drip tip and go back down when I release.

I don't know if this is related, but rather often I get a flavorless hit. I'm vaping BWB Applewood and I taste no apple sometimes. It's actually not a very good taste. Perhaps it happens when I do the silent squonk?

When the Reo is hitting good, it's awesome. The atty will hum likes it's supposed to, and I'll get nice flavor and a lot of vapor. But other times it gurgles a bit, indicating it's flooded. What do I do? Blow it out and then squonk once? I've tried that and either there isn't enough juice or it goes back to gurgling. Or perhaps I'm pulling too hard and that's what's causing the bubbling sound. It's only been a few days since I was smoking analogs so perhaps I've been pulling hard without realizing it.

I just squonked again, and I saw some juice appear in the cup, but it made no sound. A lot of times I get a silent squonk and I see no juice appear. So I squonk again not knowing whether the first squonk registered or not.

I just now got a flavorless hit after a silent squonk. It's been kinda love/hate with me and the Reo. I don't know if it's the atty or whether I'm doing something wrong.

Just now I have a new possible theory that the flavorless hits may have something to do with how much power is left in the battery. Dunno.

Speaking of attys, does anyone have an Ikenvape 510 LR or 306 LR atty they can recommend for a mini?

Cheers to anyone that can help me keep my Reo behaving the way I like it to!

Hi Bob :)
So the flavorless hits are probably due to flooding. First, may I recommend trying a different way of bringing juice to your atty. To start, try blowing out your atty to clear any excess juice. Then, without pressing the button, draw on your drip tip while gently squeezing the bottle....only make it short. As soon as you hear the first little gurgle, stop. Now vape. No juice should appear in your catch cup and it should keep your atty from flooding.
You are also correct....drawing too hard can make your vape less pleasant. Perhaps, slow it down a little, take your time. Take longer, slower drags and see if that improves your experience. It's not a race to the end of the paper anymore. :)
keep posting and let us know how it goes. :)

Sounds like you need to read up on blind squonking. Like post #46 obove here. next if you try a lr 306 with a clear drip tip you will be able to see the juice in the atty. I prefer cisco lr 306 1.5 ohm. They are very hard to flood. With a full battery you can vape thru allmost any amount of juice.

Edit : follow Lisa's better instructions in post above mine :)

Hey thanks for the advice. I chain vaped like crazy tonight trying to figure out what was wrong with the thing. I actually felt some heartburn after a two hour session. I tried everything, but never considered that my atty was close to dying. Now it's dead. I never thought of it cuz it's only a week old! I've never had an atty die so quickly! I semi0panicked when after charging that batteries to make 100% sure, I pressed the button and nothing happened.

Just now put in a new atty and it's working. I didn't know how to prime it so i put like 9 drops on the bridge and let it sit for a while. It gurgles but vapes ok so I'll try blowing it out and doing what Lisa said.

Whew! For a split second I thought of going out to get a pack of reds just cuz I was so stressed out over it! I'm only on my 4th consecutive day analog free. Thank god it was the atty and nothing else!

it will get better for you as you continue. There is very little that can go wrong with the mod itself. Coming off of smokes the same time as learning a new vape, can be challenging. Just remember to relax and come post here...we'll help you through your troubles. :)

So I've got this 2nd Cisco atty going. Maybe the first one was a bad atty, as it spent most of its life making this bubbling sound. The 2nd one sounds like a normal atty should sound. And man, I'm finally getting clouds of vapor. I did throw in a new juice (BWB Wafffle) so maybe that has something to do with it.

It's interesting that most seem to prefer cartomizers with this device. I used a carto once and then chucked it. There was a muted taste to it that I didn't like. If I'm going to vape, I'm going to do it right. I thought cartos would be good for people like me who swore by direct dripping but didn't like to travel or go outside with a bottle in hand. But for sitting around at home, I don't want to sacrifice anything.

The one thing I realized the other day is that I've only been off of analogs for a few days. Originally I was disappointed with the Reo because I wasn't getting enough flavor. But now I think the flavor will start to improve the longer I am quit. In my first 3 month stint vaping, it wasn't until 6 weeks into it that I learned how to direct drip. The first 6 weeks were wasted toying around with the Ego-T and other wastes of money. Once I direct dripped, I got the clouds of vapor and great taste and TH. I think I expected that with the Reo and didn't get it. Chances are, it's cuz my mouth hasn't yet adjusted.

There's also the issue of the atomizer. Back when I first vaped, I switched from Cisco to Ikenvape because there was a noticeable improvement. So I'm going to select a few attys now that Iken is back in business. I'll try to get a LR 306....any other recs? Maybe these dual coil cartos? Forgive me for being ignorant, but why do people use cartomizers on a Reo? Aren't cartos atomizers with a space to put juice in? If we are feeding from the bottom, don't we only need the atomizer part of a cartomizer?

And if anyone knows of other 510LR and 306LR brands I could try. I don't think I have any problems related to the Reo, just the atty. Ikenvape has all these stealth cannon attys and I don't know what the heck they are!

But for now, this Cisco is performing quite well compared to the first one. I will want to get 1.5 ohm next time cuz I like the BWB tobacco juices.

So I'm talking on the phone with the Reo in my hand....gesticulating....and out it flies...slams into the desk, and falls to the floor...pretty hard. The atty is now sitting like the tower of pisa and I quickly unscrew it and find the dead 1st atty and screw it in. It stands up. Phew!

But really, terrible luck. I have no other attys. I spent my first days with the Reo disappointed, only to be pleasantly surprised that I was dealing with a poor performing atomizer all the while. I screwed on the 2nd Cisco and the thing is vaping like a dream all morning. I got maybe 2 hours out of this atty and now I'm outta luck.

Unless there is someone in NYC that can send one for tomorrow, I'm probably going to have to go cold turkey for a few days. I'm only 5 days "clean" and I don't think it's going to happen. If someone can think of an idea on how to get an atty today or at the latest tomorrow, let me know. Otherwise I'm going to have to buy a pack of analogs to tide me over.
