OK, I looked into ecigs about two and a half years ago now. I lurked around here for a few months while using an ego (which I still have.). I wanted something more that would last a lifetime so I decided on a precise. I was very satisfied with my purchase and it has never failed me. I had all I felt I needed and I started to frequent ECF less and less often. I quit stopping in about two years ago.

I came back this past November to catch up on the new lingo and tech.t I saw VV was all the rage now. I figured I would jump on the bandwagon and purchased a Provari. It's my first VV device so I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much a few volts changed what I thought was a subdued flavor into a roundhouse kick to the face flavor. (in a good way, not that I think getting round house kicked to the face is good but...ah hell, never mind)

I vaped on my new toy all weekend quite happily. I woke up Monday grabbed my work mod (a cheap 3.7 mechanical) and off I went. First break came along and I went outside to get my nic dose. I puffed till I was blue in the face and couldn't get any satisfaction out of it. I changed the battery and was still a no-go. 3.7 just didn't feel right anymore. I went home at lunch just to get my provari I felt like an addict then realized I was an addict which somehow made me feel better about it.

Long story short, 3.7 is ruined for me and it's the fault of all you guys saying VV is the way to go. I suppose its ok because you were all right. :glare:

Now I hear these Zen pros are quite nice, but I would hate to have to blame you guys for ruining cartos for me next :p

I thought the standard 3.7 was the way to go as well.....until my Twist arrived and now I know I need a bigger Toy MOD lol BTW what parts of IL are you?

I have only been vaping about 4 months and have only used vv. I really like the looks of the mechanicals, and the idea I can fix them if needed, but really like adjusting the volts. I only use rebuildables so I can make a coil needed, but nice to know the batt will keep pumping out the same volts for the whole charge.

Betting one of these days will have to try out a mechanical, they do look really sharp.

Doesn't make sense. You could put an LR on your low wattage device and it would run hot. I like a cool vape once in awhile. I can run up to 6 volts but I only do that if I did a poor job of wicking my Phoenix. Don't toss out the old gear, high voltage gets old.

For me, it's really not about high voltage for a warmer vape. (I actually prefer a cooler vape, unless I'm vaping cinnamon.) I like to tailor the voltage to find a particular flavor's sweet spot. And it won't neccessarily be at a higher voltage than 3.7v.

For example, I like my fruit flavors at voltages BELOW 3.7v; higher and they start to taste a little burnt to me. Most flavors I like betweem 4v - 5v range. I never cared for low resistance cartos, and prefer single coils over duals.

Since discovering variable voltage, I'm spoiled too. My Silver Bullet and BB are now strictly backups. In fact, a co-worker is borrowing them for a couple of days so that she and her husband can see how much better a mod with cartotanks can be compared to pre-filled cartos on cigalikes.

Although I have many VV PVs, I still vape 1.5Ω @ 3.3-3.7V. Ooops, well looky dere... I'll be danged... that's in da eGo's range!

Me, too. I only have a couple of regular egos and an ego twist but I *love* my twist. I do like low res gear - but I love the ability to fine tune the voltage to match the juice.

I bet my next upgrade will be to a VW device. There's nothing out right now that I'm willing to pull the trigger on but I love the idea of being able to attach whatever atty, carto or tank - and not have to care about the resistance - and always get the same vape I'm looking for.

I love this forum !! I first started out my vape journey on a volcano starter kit. In 2 months time I think I have 10 bottles + of juice 2 infernos a tube tank 4 boxes of carts and 2 atomizers and maybe 6 drip tips. I think I just like to buy stuff which may be a small problem with all the cool things available . If I had not found this forum I would still be buying volcano juice
