Im predicting this right now. New FDA APPROVED Blu Kits and disposables! The first FDA regulated pre filled cartos at $6.50 a pop which "will last about the same as a pack of analogs!!" Lol. I bet you guys anything this is what's comming. Cartos taxed at the price as a pack of analogs blu has already been bought out by big tobacco, the plan is for the fda to approve Blu and make it the only ecig available. ONE ecig TO RULE THEM ALL. Better learn to start making things yourself.

With the Chinses factories pumping out cartos, clearos and attys for the world, there will always be a way to get our supplies if we are willing to do the legwork. If this level of restriction were to occur it would harm the small businesses in the ecig market and worse yet, would slow the adoption rate as those things are pretty crappy and overpriced.

You're missing a big point though. If the FDA can approve one e-cig, they will have to approve others. I'm sure there will be restrictions and hoops to jump through galore. But as long as they don't completely shut the door, there's still hope.

I'm guessing the hoops and regulations and testing would be too much for any small buisness to stay afloat. Blu will be sponsored by big tobacco or big pharma which has the money to ensure wether through bribing or otherwise that no other company or upstart ever even makes regulation standards.

While people are wasting time worrying about Blu and big tobacco and the Blu Cig commercial, i am stocking up on my juice and parts for the next 5 years. I say lets not worry about what will happen with the FDA and Blu, no need to worry about things beyond your control. Just do what you always do, and prepare a little more - a little paranoia never hurt anyone.

I was behind someone in line at the gas station that bought a blu-cig - the cashier knew nothing about it, didnt even know if it was disposable or rechargeable. he told the customer it was an smokeless cigarette. The lady paid 75 for blu- starter pack, and then purchased 2 or 3 (5 packs) of disposable cartos. (i don't know the price), but she easily spent over 100$ for a device she will try for a day and probably never use again (but there is always a chance it will help her from day 1 and she will be a true convert! , you never know)

@Skribble: Probably. But never underestimate the power of large numbers. We have a large community here, more than willing to support a small business and pay top dollar for a quality device. Hell, just look at the Provari. Just think if several vendors united under one banner to push through a MOD or juice formula. And don't think that the Chinese manufacturers don't have an interest in this ruling too. I might be overly optimistic but I don't think we're going to see an end to our new found hobby.

And even if the FDA brings down the hammer, there will be ways.

approving only one brand would violate anti-trust laws

If only one company could meet criteria and "safety" standards, anti trust laws would be obsolete. This is all one big conspiracy man. If anything big tobacco would purchase njoy also and control both groups against each other. Much like coke and Pepsi being owned by the same company. they would purchase two or there big names, make the prices the same with little variations, then claim anti trust laws are not valid. This happens all the time. Call me pessimistic, I'm just a realist. Curling up into a ball saying that this is never going to happen is just plain ignorant. If there is Money to be made, better believe the government is going to expect a huge chunk of it.

I will say the Blu (and other) e-cig adds an TV aren't doing us any favors. BIG MOTHERS will see to it that comes to an end to protect their children.

Really? How is that exactly? You think that advertising a product to grow our numbers, and yet again prove that ecigs do work to get people off of analogs is hurting our cause?

THATS RICH, and fails on every logical level.

The more mainstream we are, it would stand, logically speaking, that we have the high ground, both morally, and numbers wise.

But of course, I suppose I could be wrong, maybe if we stay in the corner and stay small our gov will leave us alone, like they do with those raw milk people.

I have seen this before in another industry. The first ruling was HARSH would have killed many small businesses/manufactures (it killed mine). Once the backlash was felt they re-adjusted the requirements and to this day are still tweaking the "rules".
I am hopefully optimistic that this will run the same course. Now that said I will stock pile a bit of juice, tanks and batteries just to ride out any adjustment periods.
