OK so first off I am not a fan of bashing any b&m so I won't say who it is, its a small place anyways so its no big deal.

So I go to a few different places here in town, and one in particular (less about starting ecigs but rather to get people to get into and stay with RDA and rebuilding) really bugged me recently.

I am a simple vapor. I have an evic mod with an aspire nautilus. I've tried rebuilding, and its there.. Its coolish, I still rebuild my aspire heads cuz its just easy enough anyways.. But I go into this local shop and they're all telling me I need to go RDA, which I've told them many times before I don't really care too much for.. (I usually just buy liquid here) and they were all mad and were like "well you call THAT a tank?? THIS is a tank!" Pretty much just taking a giant steaming pile right on my setup. They had a rebuildable tank and I'm just like yeah whatever...

They even had the nerve to tell me I gotta try their dripper (he had one sitting out from his personal stash) and first off, idk where you've been or what you do, I don't wanna vape off something someone else has been vaping off that could get me sick, and two, I told him I already have done that!

Now some of you may call it the superior vape, but I'm a busy person, let me explain why I don't like drippers.

Every coil I've made for a dripper needs to be replaced every ooohhh... 3 days (I know this either shouldn't be, or is the norm.. Heard both sides) but in my aspire, once every 2 weeks. Don't even get me started about re wicking drippers... Plus 2 puffs and I'm re filling.

Everyone talks about flavor and vapor production from a dripper while my aspire is doing just fine. It may not be a rip trippers cloud, but it isn't like most others either as I rebuild my coil heads still.

This is a bit more of a vent than an actual post. So take it as you will lol.

the only way to deal to deal with someone being all snooty is to outsnoot them in a snoot-off! it will take rigorous months of pinkie push-ups, some plastic surgery to get your nose to turn up, several trips to the dentist to have your lower jaw moved forward, elocution lessons to over pronounce all vowels, a whole new wardrobe.... but in the end, it's quite worth it.

way better than being the bigger person and just leaving his store!

Drive south for a few hours and come to this little B&M in south dakota. Worst salesman in history. Wasnt pushy at all and was generally interested in what i wanted. Wait worst or best...Anyways i just sat in there for like 45 min trying every flavor they had. I like working with older people. Younger guys in the vape seem to be into chasing clouds and want you to buy drippers(at least around here).

Every time I read a story like this I realize how lucky I am to have my B7M close to me. Sure most of the employees drip, but they always ask what the customer wants and are just as happy to sell a disposable iClear as the newest dripper (they are also happy to talk with you about anything if there are no customers)

I have seen them try to steer a new vaper away from advanced stuff but they will sell it (I should have taken their advice)

I love my store.

Im not into drippers either, yeah I get bigger clouds but its easier to just load my tank up and call it a day. I do use a RBA (Aqua) but I also rebuild my Evod glass heads and Vapeonly BCC heads(lemme tell you that vapeonly bcc rebuilt has FLAVVVVOR) and im happy/content with all of them

I also just started DIY on my juice last week, and im a proud new member of the vape for under 10 bucks a month group

I am lucky with my store as well. They never push newbies into advanced gear, and generally suggest against it. They used to see me in the store every single week sometimes more, and they never pushed me into more advanced gear, I actually had to ask them about it.

When I finally did get a mechanical mod several months ago, they explained ohms law to be as best they could at the time and gave me an ohm reader. They gave me 30 amp batteries and told me not to build below an ohm until I did lots and lots of homework on the subject.

Very happy with my B&M.... It is Vaperite in Atlanta btw.

I guess they care more about their Atlanta store than they do about their original store in Woodstock. I've never been to the Atl store, but I've been to the Woodstock store about 6 times, since it's so close to me, and I've gotten people and service raging from bein ignored in an empty store with 3 employees, to having to walk out because I couldn't deal with the snobiness, and everywhere in between.

Your rant is entirely valid. I too find this an interesting phenomena in vape shops. I've had people offer me a try of juice from the rig they just had in their mouths! As much as I appreciate the gesture, it isn't going to happen. I'd try my wife's mod if she had one but a strangers? No way.

I carry a spare 510 drip tip to try other people's set-ups when offered, but only people I know and trust.

My local B&M is great. No pressure, and no crapping on people's gear. If he thinks you're up for an upgrade, he'll suggest one, and let you try it out if he's got one in rotation for the day. The Vapor Lounge, LLC in Tarentum, PA is the best there is as far as customer service and laid back approach. He has no problem answer questions, and when you have one that he can't answer, he will pull out his tablet and go online to find the answer. He will also direct you to ebay for some purchases if he knows you want something he doesn't carry.

Sorry you had issues with yours, and I've experienced that same issue is some shops. I went to one in Kettering, Ohio where the guy behind the counter dumped on all juices that weren't in his store. He crapped on Mt. Baker, which was in my clearo, as well as Alice in Vapeland, which I was dripping. He carried the basic line of Ruthless, which while good, can't hold a candle to Alice in Vapeland.

Needless to say, I can't see that shop staying open long.

Note: straying away from topic to something OP mentioned...

Recoiling Aspire heads... are those the BDC ones with the little wrap around piece of fabric?

My first effort ended in a fail, but that darn piece of wrap was frustrating.

Are those the ones you recoil?
Yes the BDC ones. The trick is using it as a single coil. I personally use 32 gauge kanthal so I can use it on regulated mods much more easily. If you need help, rip trippers shows a really good example ;)

Vendors who push their customers to equipment they aren't interested in just suck all around. I had the opposite experience with a vendor near me. They tried pushing me to cigalikes, and I was vaping on an MVP 2 with cartotanks back then. They just opened, and were the closest vendor to me at the time, so I wanted to check them out. The odd thing was, they did carry some advanced gear, and were charging quite a lot for it. I don't understand why they were pushing the cigalikes. They saw I was using the MVP....

Sorry you had to go through that. Never really got staff that did things to discourage sales. If you don't like the place you work at, go work somewhere else. If you don't get the causal relationship between your employer selling stuff and getting a paycheck, you might want give your head a shake. It blows me away at times.

I love my Provari/kayfun setup, but if someone wants to vape Njoys for the rest of their lives, so long as they enjoy it(lol) who am I to tell them they have it wrong? Vape what you want and don't let anyone try to dissuade you. Especially not some d**k that's trying to sell you something you don't want.

Electronic Cigarette sales lesson #1:

"Don't ever berate another vaper or his setup"

Reminds me of elitist record store salesmen, "you seriously listen to that garbage?"

Meh...wipe their dust from your feet and give someone else your business. There are plenty of places that will be happy to continue selling you whatever it is that you prefer to vape with.
