great thread--lucky poster and great questions--fed in so smoothly i think perhaps you already vape? (or you read a lot and ask the right questions mighty well) if i had only started out with all this information i could have easily saved $200 U.S.and gotten off analogs a lot more quickly. I just upgraded an ego with standard 510 and drip/carts and cartomizers to an "Ego tank" and i'm feeling fine...also needed an 8-10 hour solution and the 1000 mha battery and the 650 mha batt/passthrough (a "pass through allows you to charge with just a regular usb cable from a typical computer usb hub) did the trick

the pass through batt combo is a great technical advance (esp the one with the built in plug as sold by several suppliers: volcanocigs.com and cignot.com come to mind but i don't know about UK suppliers: libertyflights?) takes the charging complexity out of the equation (so long as you work around computers all day as i do)

good luck

Happy Vaping and enjoy your new adventure!

I started last September with a brand that 'looks like a cigarette'. Twas okay, but then I found this forum :)

I've been using the Tornado from Totally Wicked exclusively. As some posters said, yes, they are pricey, but catch the discount codes and sales and that makes them very competitive. I love the tornado! I use cartomizers and atomizer/cartridge combos. I haven't really figured out which I prefer. I just ordered their new tank system; it looks intriqueing.

I get my fluid from gourmetvapor. I really like their stuff, and also with the discount code, they are quite cheap.

I chuckle and am happy to be considered 'barely age legal' or whatever. I like the TW web site and branding. I am 51 years old :)

I don't agree about GreenSmoke -- I think their cartomizers taste like a fog machine, and they're not KR808-1D so you can't use cartos from other brands.

I do think cartomizers is the way to go, though. If you buy batteries from Bloogplanet.com, V2cigs.com or Vapor4Life.com, you can interchange cartomizers from any of these and many other companies!

litecigusa.net has genuine KR808-1D which are the least expensive of all -- a starter kit with two batteries is just $35 -- that's under 22 quid! I've ordered their kit as well just to try them -- if they're as good as their more expensive rebrands, I will start recommending those, although I'll still keep recommending cartomizers from fancier brands -- there ARE big differences.

Since it's not an opinion it's a fact why don't you back this up with some sources. Some studies in the average age of TW's customers, a proper study that devil cartoons only appeal juveniles and young people, or anything to back up your claims. If you can't do this it IS an opinion, period. (see: proper definition of opinion and true fact) <--see what I did there.

This kind of reactionary thinking without doing any proper research to back it up is why we have so many stupid laws in the U.S.

Seconded. Stating that one's opinion is fact does not make it so.

That's KR808D-1

Yeah don't do Greensmoke they charge too much and since is it the KR808D-2 and has different threads you won't be able to use all of the KR808D-1 stuff. and KR808D-1 is much more supported in the normal price marketplace. Many vendors carry KR808D-1 stuff including a variety of types of blank cartos, adapters for attys etc. Also most people here recommend and use manual batteries. You know how you can tell a ripoff vendor? Usually they either charge more than $20 for a spare battery or they don't sell blank carts/cartos or both. And what you cannot see is that they may even sell prefilled cartos that are purposely harder to refill - with glued on or hard caps.

And BTW a cartomizer does not last as long as a pack of cigs. That is just a typical "name' brand lie. You will be adding juice to cartos before they go dry and that way you may get a week out of a carto. I add juice whenever the vapor seems to be getting weak. If run them dry you can singe the stuffing and ruin the flavor.

Where might be the best place to buy a ego/riva? :p

I don't know about "the best" but there are many vendors that carry these things. Not at all complete and in no particular order...

litecigusa.net
madvapes.com
cignot.com
liberty-flights.com
indyvapor.com
goodprophets.com

This subforum may have a better suggestions about where to get eGo gear.
