Since it's not an opinion it's a fact why don't you back this up with some sources. Some studies in the average age of TW's customers, a proper study that devil cartoons only appeal juveniles and young people, or anything to back up your claims. If you can't do this it IS an opinion, period. (see: proper definition of opinion and true fact) <--see what I did there.

This kind of reactionary thinking without doing any proper research to back it up is why we have so many stupid laws in the U.S.

+1

@BIG Sheephearder

I don't shop there, but fact and opinion need to be clarified here.....because you THINK a devilsh character appeals to kids, doesn't make it fact....let me cite an example

the BSD software distributions use a cartoon "devil" (daemon actually) as their logo....I promise you that the software distro was never target to minors (that is a fact you can look up, by doing some research on what BSD is)

you are stating opinion....it's not fact

Some EXCELLENT info there matey!:)... couple of questions to round off...

the differences between carts and cartos? do you fill up the cartridges? or do they come pre filled and in various amounts?
direct-drip? bottom fed? what are these and what are their opposites please? nice one

Carts come pre-filled and empty. They have filler that sits atop a mesh covered bridge that allows the juice to make its way down to the wick and coil. Carts use gravity to wet the wick. There also are tank attys/carts that have no filler.

Cartos have a reservoir -- with either filler or not -- that holds the liquid and they use a wick to draw the liquid up to the coil. They hold more than carts, usually.

Direct dripping is dripping the juice directly onto the mesh or the coil (if you remove the bridge). IMO, this method gives the best vapor and flavor.

Bottom fed mods deliver the juice from the bottom through a tube and bottle. This method is like dripping without gravity. You squeeze the bottle underneath to force juice up into the atty.

When IRL friends and acquaintances ask me what to get to start. Depending on their mechanical inclination, I recommend a USB passthrough eGo 1000 mAh, a pack of attys (I prefer Joye 510 standard or Cisco 306 Lr, depending on if I want a smoother/cooler or a more intense/hot vape, respectfully), a drip tip or two and juice. I feel that the other pieces that come in the kits are superfluous.

For those not as mechanically inclined, I recommend the V4L KR808's with pre-filled cartos. I learned my lesson with my mom. I got her started (after a 40 year full-time smoking career) and she just couldn't get the hang of filling cartos, carts or even dripping. She just wanted something that was as easy as possible to use and just worked. She loves the V4L pre-filled cartos now.

Hope that helps.

As a rough estimate, many people use from 2 to 3 ml per day. Instead of getting one big bottle, you may want to get several smaller bottles with different flavors and nic levels. If you were to get only one nic level to start with, 18mg is a good first guess.

Hello & welcome Cooper :)

Lisa at Cloud 9 Vaping is an excellent UK seller. Don't know if you have seen this on her home page though "Orders placed during the week between Friday 11th February and Sunday 20th February will not be dispatched until week beginning Monday 21st February" So you will have a few days wait before getting your kit.

Hi, I'm also a relative newbie (2 weeks smoke free! Waahoo!) and I for one can only agree with the recommendation of an eGo/Riva kit. I started out with an NJoy Npro (looks like a cigarette) with tobacco carts and very quickly found out that the batteries don't last nearly long enough and also that I don't really like the taste of tobacco! So I have purchased a TW Tornado Tank with a selection of flavours and I love it!! (See below for my views on TW!)

So I would definitely err on the cautious side regarding juice and try different flavours, including tobacco. You're tastes will almost certainly be different to mine, but there are so many wonderful flavours out there it would be a shame to miss out.

As for Totally Wicked, all I can say is I have found them to be efficient and courteous. When I asked for advice I got it plain and unbiased. Perhaps their products are slightly more expensive (emphasis on the slightly), but as others have pointed out they do offer discount codes. Easily located via Google. I for one like their logo and I'm 48 years old! Certainly not old, but also not barely-age-legal either! :) I can appreciate that it may not be to everyone's taste in which case..... don't shop there! But it's not a good reason to diss TW. I will happily buy from them again.

Wherever you go and whatever you decide to buy, enjoy! And congrats on wanting to kick the 'foul weed'!

cool, one question i forgot to ask is, how do i get the e-liquid into the cartridge? do i have to buy a pipette or something, because surely i can't just pour 3ml in accurately?
and what are thes drip tips they reccommend? thanks

Cooper, the bottles of juice have drippers on them, so you just squeeze them & the juice drips into the cartridge. You won't be putting 3mls in at a time though ;D

The drip tips you use instead of cartridges & just drip a few drops into them while still attached to the atomiser.

Not to mention, most kids would come across e-cigs at the mall, which thankfully in that case at least, are notoriously overpriced. Throw in the factor that online vendors require a credit card, which children can't get, and most likely have never heard of the vendors to begin with. To find them online requires more than Googling "e cigs" if you want the good prices that teenagers would need.

There are instructional videos on how to fill carts and such. I don't have any links handy, maybe somebody else does? You can also search the forum for these things (search for 'cart mods'). The simplest cart mod is to just trim the stock polyfil down a bit (you really only need 1/2 or 1/3 of what typically comes in a cart).

When filling a clean cart...
* make sure the dry piece of cart filler you have fits properly in the cart
* remove the dry filler
* drip drops into the cart till nearly full
* slide the dry filler down into the liquid (snag it on the bottom with a straighened paperclip and 'drag' it down)
* shift it up/down with the paper clip to the top of the filler is level with the top of the cart
* top it off with a couple of drops on top

When refilling/topping of a cart...
* push the filler down a bit with the paperclip
* drip drops till nearly full
* pull the filler back up with paperclip (adjust up and down to get it level with the top)
* top it off with a couple of drops on top

That may sound more complicated than it really is. There's nothing to it... you'll see. A paperclip is a very handy cart filling tool :)

I see Cloud9 has bits of precut blue foam filler for sale too... when i used carts, I liked the blue foam for cart stuffing a lot more than the polyfil material... it's more resilient and easier to work with... a bit of blue foam can be cleaned and reused many many many times (just rinse in hot water and dry, i'd pour boiling water on them to really freshen them up). Before using the blue foam, you may want to super clean them by letting them bath in really hot (or even slightly boiling) water for a time.

I just do direct dripping now. Drip-tips come in handy for that. You don't fill carts at all and instead drip drops as needed directly into the atty. 2 or 3 drops at is good for several hits. A "drip-tip" replaces the cart and has a hole wide enough to drop straight through without having to remove it. You can direct drip with standard carts too... just don't fill the cart with anything (filler or liquid), use it as a moutpice only... you have to remove the standard cart to drip is all.

In all cases, a 3ml dropper bottle (or two) is a good thing to have.

BTW strictlyejuice.com has super cheap precut blue foam for 510 carts (I think 75 cents for 10 pieces). I started by cutting those down for some smaller carts I have and it lasts so long I still have 8 of my 10 piece left.

Vapor4Life is fine - it is a KR808D-1 and one of the 2 most popular and recommended slim ecigs. 510 is the other. I own and use both with cartomizers. The KR8 has the best selection of prefilled soft-cap cartos. The 510 has a weak selection of prefilled cartos but maybe more variety of blank ones and well as being a 3-piece by default. I prefer the 510 as a 2-piece with the longer 510 mega batteries and a cartomizer. You need to use the longer batteries for 510 for it to equal the battery life of a KR808D-1. ANd all of my batteries are manuals for less work, more consistent hits, better sealed against juice leaks.

Comparison

The Ego and Riva 510 are fat battery versions of the 510 with longer battery charge and ability to use harder hitting power hungry low-resistance parts. Some people need or want that. It doesn't mean everyone does.

I too loved my experience with tw ...dissing them because of their logo seems a little lame. They have been awesome. I love my tank even though I might have overpaid
