I'm at a loss for words. It's a sad, sad, day for everyone here on ECF.:(

I know I have benefited in SO MANY different ways from all your blogs and your posts. Much of what I have learned (since joining ECF) I have learned from YOU! I would have never ventured into mech mods and rebuildables (safely) if it were not for all I have learned from you.

I have looked forward to seeing you most every day (and many nights) and know that you "have my back" when I post about battery safety, ohms, law, amp draw to a member looking to get into mech mods and rebuildables (when their post "reads" that they have not done their homework). Your blog posts (all 17 of them) have made my posting here on ECF so much easier when I am trying to educate others.

I wish for you all the very best and hope that you find a job that uses all the skills that you have!

One final thought. Please consider PM'ing one of the moderators over in the Pay it Forward subforum. I have subscribed to this thread (and I hope others will as well) as I would love to be able to "Pay it Forward " in some way for everything you have done for me!:)

:( I don't even know what to say which is rare except that I will deeply miss your calmness, wisdom and generosity of spirit. You are a pillar of this community and a great man.

I don't know what you do for a living but if it has anything to do with IT, please stay in touch with me on that.I have friends in OH and won't hesitate to forward your resume with the highest recommendations.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope to see you well settled and back to us soon.

((((hugs))) Norma

Waking up to this news was shocking to say the least. No one has helped more of us then you have. Your blogs were detailed to make trying new things easier. I admired you for putting so much time into this forum and you certainly will be missed. No one will ever take your place. I don't know what else to say as I'm in shock.

Your presence here will be sorely missed. I've felt your pain and employment discrimination, especially when you hit your mid 50's does exist.

Government wants you to be employed until a minimum of 62 years to collect social security. That leaves many with no or minimal income to exist, and many get SS early using disability.

Wish it wasn't that way.

It doesn't have to all be thought of as a negative move. Getting away from the pressure he's been under and back to the basics - Chop wood, carry water - (a Zen perspective) can quiet the mind and heal the spirit.

Exactly. I feel so TIRED of what I've been going through the last year. Feeling overwhelmed. Literally accounting for every single dollar, never eating out or going to a movie, eating Ramon noodles and peanut butter sandwiches to save money, those unexpected expenses like car repairs that have to be paid if you want to keep working, even if some other bills don't get paid, etc, etc. Basically not enjoying life. I need that quieting of the mind and healing of the spirit you speak of. A return to my roots.

My daughter has become my best friend and is wise beyond her 19 years. I'll certainly miss her and my son who will be staying behind to live with their mother. We'll stay in touch by phone and we'll visit each other I'm sure. I gave this the old college try and it just wasn't working.

As my daughter says, "God closes one door while He opens another for you". Maybe He's been telling me that this chapter of my story was never going to end, until I turn the page and start the next chapter.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Some brought a smile to my face, and others brought a tear to my eyes. I'm going to miss this place too.

Oh Bad, I saw this earlier and got tears in my eyes. Had to wait to give a coherent response. You have been such a great friend and resource over the years. Just yesterday I came with a question and , as always you helped me out. Please know you will be missed by all you have touched with your kindness and wisdom. I believe as your daughter does, another door will open. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. A mustard seed is all you need.....

Bad- you will be missed, that is for sure! But I also believe that the information that you have shared will not be forgotten. You have given a lot to the online vaping community, and I know that a lot of us owe you more "thank you"s than you could imagine. I wish you nothing but the best! May this time be an opportunity to recharge face the world with a new perspective.
