Hello, fellow vapers! Today is my one year vaperversary. That's right, exactly one year ago today I gave up cigarettes and started vaping full time, and this is my celebratory post to commemorate that special day.

I haven't been around as much lately because I've spending a lot of time helping a friend get into vaping. She lives in another state, so I spend a good deal of time writing email tutorials and answering her questions instead of posting and entering contests on ECF. But be assured that I'm still here and still vaping, and extremely proud to be a part of this wonderful community.

Which brings me to the main point of this post, which is to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me out. Every day, I silently thank you all for giving me all the tools and knowledge I need to stay free of cigarettes, and to be there for my friend. Your experiences are being passed along and doing good in the world. I just thought you'd like to know that.

If you've just started vaping, or have been a vaper for some time but haven't yet had the chance yet to help a friend get into it, you're in for a big treat. It's incredibly satisfying and fulfilling. I joined CASAA about six months ago, but I'm disabled so it's hard for me to get out to public hearings and the like, though I have written my share of emails in support of our cause. I strongly urge you to join CASAA if you haven't already. Even if you don't have the time or ability to get out in the field, it helps the vaping community at large just to add your name to their list of members.

Vape on, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all.

Why not point your friend right here?

I do know how satisfying it is to help someone else quit with e-ciggs. 3 and counting for me, friends who I initially setup with vaping gear who have quit (one back 3 years ago on the incredibly crappy cigalikes available then, 3 months later she quit vaping).

Congrats on your anniversary!

Why not point your friend right here?

Oh believe me, I did. My friend and I had been out of touch for a while, and when we reconnected she told me she was interested in vaping, so it became an instant topic of conversation. I sent her a myriad of links, to this forum as well as all my favorite youtubers. She declined joining us here for a number of reasons. I think the main one was that she used to be somewhat of an internet junkie, and didn't want to get wrapped up in another forum. Also, she was satisfied coming to me with all her questions, which I freely offered to answer since I knew she might be reticent to join ECF. I think another part of it was just that she was so new to vaping and felt more comfortable conferring with someone she knew. She's not exactly shy, but it just worked better for her. She still may join up at a later date, though; and I got her to join CASAA.
It's been a joy for me hearing about her experiences as a new vaper and being reminded of what it was like when I first started, and she's a terrific 'student' and fast learner. I recently sent her a big package of all my old gear, since she was dissatisfied with some of her initial purchases. So now she has a few variable voltage batteries and some protanks and other clearos (since I switched to rebuildables and mechs a while back), which is saving her enough money to try a bunch of different e-juices and explore the world of flavors available to us.
