Shizzle -- stemming from my son's and nephew's obsession with the DVD "Malibu's Most Wanted" several years ago...they watched it so often, even *i* soon knew every single line from it. i used to be "Fo Shizzle" on other forums (yep, i'm too lazy to even come up with a new name for each one), but that caused confusion because some would refer to me as "Fo" and some as "Shizzle", so i eventually shortened it.

my avatar -- wouldn't it be really cool if catdogs actually existed??

The dane you see is a Mantle. The harlequins look similar to Dalmatians, in that they have a white body with black patches, not spots.

Some have health issues. I had one come down with hip dysplasia at a young age. Thats about all. Of over 100 puppies I've bred and places, about 5 had reported issues. It does happen. The biggest disappointment with Danes is that they only live 8-12 years.
My mom bred shepherds. They were from a schutzhund line. Many were placed as police dogs and such. I had 2 of hers. They werent for me. Intelligent, but too active. I like a calm lazy dog that doesnt require too much indoor space. :)
Thanks for the warm welcome.

I had a German Shepherd not too long ago. He's gone now. I got him when he was 6-8 wks old and he lived 14 yrs. That's a long time for GS. He was not only intelligent but very loyal & obedient. The only time he was rowdy was when he was playing with my smaller dog. I really miss him. :(

My name is Charmed (UrCharmedOne on twitter) and 412 is my first granddaughter's birthday. My avi is because I have been fighting my second bout with brain cancer since January of this year.

Hi charmed412, nice to meet you!

constant state of confusion
thank you ladies...This is a nice place, I need to stumble in here more often.

My treatment is over for now. The growth rate of the malignant tumor stopped and my body needed a break. It isn't completely gone and we are monitering it and the benign tumors closely, but at this point I get a break and can enjoy life a little again.
