I am new posting here, but I have been lurking and researching for a long time. You guys seem to have the nicest corner of ECF BTW
My Avatar changes a lot, but right now it's a 1950's 'Housework Rules!" icon. I do actually kind of like housework, except floors and really grungy stuff, but mostly is a joke about my sons thinking I have OCD, and me pointing out, that it's just routine for any decently house-proud house-spouse!
My name here, Onawa, means Mindfulness basically, something I work on constantly. It's Ibo and literally means "Wide Awake One".
I'm on day one quit (from analogs and nic) so sorry for babbling!

Hello all..it's been awhile since I've posted here. My name is Tammy and I'm from Iowa...go figure and my avi is the state flower. The weather has been lousy this summer sooo hot..but finally seeing a break this week and getting to enjoy a little time outdoors. Have backed off ecf a little as my hometown forum got a little strange/nasty. This morning I remembered about this forum and am trying to catch up. You'll probably see me on a more regular basis....Hope everyone has a Great Sunday

I'm purplefowler cos I love purple (just ordered a purple 510 battery and atty combo from health cabin!!!), and my names michelle. Years ago on eastenders (the British soap) there was a character called michelle fowler, and in my younger drinking days it used to be my drinking nickname. As for the avatar I am a bit of a wonder woman fan and believe there is a bit of wonder woman in all of us . My other half worries about me sometimes, especially last year when I came home from asda really excited because i got some 70's style wonder woman knickers! I think he was gutted that they weren't abit more sexy.

Yep, gutted can mean anything from disappointed to absolutely devastated and everywhere in-between. My other half should have known better than to get his hopes up, im not really the sexy undies type! As for the symbols, no mystery I'm afraid. I post in my iPhone sometimes and use an emotes app and apparently it only shows on iPhones as I found out when I used my laptop. What I meat to say was !
Finally drinking names! These are affectionate but often rude nicknames that you probably wouldn't give to people if you were sober. Mine was a shortened version of a song my friend used to slur which went something like "michelle fowlers got no legs and has a gritty..." and I'll leave the rest to your imagination, lol!They usually have no real meaning although if you are from a certain area that might be used (Irish anne for example), or strange habits (no shoes sue, self explanatory). Then you have the more personal-worzel ( looks like a scarecrow), steptoe (looks like a tramp), Birdseye (smells kind of fishy). Back in my drinking days if you didn't have a drinking name, you weren't part of the group. Pretty childish really, but a good memory of some crazy times!!!
