My biggest regret is not doing my normal amount of research before starting trying to vape 27 months ago. In 35 years of smoking I had tried all the methods several times. I did not think e-cigs were going to work so I bought the cheapest stuff I could from convenience stores and repurchased the same junk with different labels several times. I finally took the advice of a friend and purchased a decent starter kit from a decent B&M. After a week with it I knew vaping would work and did a ton of research.
I no longer use the eGo starter kit. But I am not smoking or dipping anymore either :)

I regret not doing the research in 2011 when I first tried e-cigs.
I regret not doing the research before I bought the eGo kit.
I regret buying the Origin mod, at least I was able to trade it for a Chi

I also started with cartridge types such as Volcano (2010) and Blu (2013) and found myself still smoking. Since vaping juices, I've moved from EgO to a kanger protank and a Smok adjustable battery. After visiting 20+ vapes store and trying dozens of juices, I realized there are a lot of amateurs mixing stuff. The flavors often taste great in the store, but later gunk up my kanger coils. So then I started mixing my own. Biggest gripe is the life cycle of a coil. The delaers and the kanger website tell me a coil will last 2-3 weeks and I haven't had one last more than 5 days. Three days is the norm. Even mixing my own juice using "E-Juice-me up" to the letter at 60PG/40VG, the max is 3-4 days on a coil. I am using the recommended range of voltage-to-ohm values recommended by kanger and still crappy luck. I got sick of buying the coils, so lately I ordered 1.5 mil wick material and 32 gauge kanthal wire to rebuild my spent coils. Are other folks experiencing the same thing or is it just me?

2 years ago my daughter gave me a single GreenSmoke e-cig with one of her cartridges on it. It must've been the crappy flavor or simply the low nic in that thing because it was terrible. Unfortunately, I judged all e-cigs and the entire industry on that one experience. Stayed with analogs as a result.

I would say that mine is simply the use of the BLU cig as I failed miserably with it. This is not to say that they are horrible, because I know some people use these exclusively and successfully, but they simply did not work out for me.

The Blu's re-introduced me to e-cigs. Nephew gave me a startup kit which I just put away somewhere untouched and the "timing" gods did the rest a few weeks later:

1.) Out of analogs - need to go out and get some
2.) It's late, cold and snowing
3.) I'm in my underwear and not showered
4.) Mrs. Kodiak in rare form is feeling romantic (can't miss this)
5.) I stay at home and open the Blu starter kit.

That was a pleasant surprise. The "classic" flavor did it for me. Yes, the batteries are crap but I carried that handy PCC starter kit with me for 2 weeks. Even ordered some juice and took those pricey blu cartomizer apart and refilled them. Finally googled for some supplies and the e-cig industry burst open right before my eyes. I had no idea it was this big and this popular. :)

Yes, must put a stop to new equipment purchases. Decided to stick with 808 right now, that has GOT to last me for some time. I don't want this ending up costing more than the cigarettes, I was spending around $70 a month, light smoker. Get caught up in some of the threads, start looking at the toys, then realize just need a few more tanks and batteries (really need a custom case, nothing goes with my current setup). Over two weeks, spent more than $200, wasn't planning on this. Gosh darn, it better work 8-o8-o8-o8-o:mad:8-o

I 'yes' this yes! Avoid the shinies! AVOOOIIIDDD THE SHIIINNNIIEEESS!!! *slams hand on desk for dramatic effect* ouch...

Find it, enjoy it, stay with it. :D

Biggest regret is dropping £40(or thereabouts) on a cig-a-like starter kit about a year ago. Didn't like the hit, taste and so on so very quickly they were consigned to the drawer. Only realised things had moved on substantially quite recently and invested in an EVOD starter kit. Bam, much better, so embarked on a mission to absorb as much information as I could (with the help of many helpful folks on ECF), and have literally today placed my order for some rather more exotic (expensive) stuff which I'm sure will elevate the experience even higher.

I've no regrets at all yet, but then again i'm fairly new. So perhaps the fact that i did say "I'm gonna buy an e-cigg, soon" and it took me like 6 months before finally buying my kit ^^

I did try Cig-alikes before that though and looked on them more as a toy than anything else. However those cig-alikes got my interest in e-cigg so i started researched for better gear. If i hadn't found the cig-alikes i prolly wouldn't be vaping right now.

I also started with Blu disposables, wasted my money on the rechargeable kit by Blu. Never was able to get off analogs with it. Found this forum and ended up getting an eGo tank kit and loved it. I'm now off smokes and won't go back. Now, just ordered an MVP2 with iClear30s and a PT3 just to try out the glass clearo. Looking forward to getting my order. As far as I'm concerned, I owe my health, even my life to my eGo and this forum for getting me off of a 40 year habit.

Only regret was no finding the ECF sooner. I have thoroughly enjoyed every step I've taken along the trail of Vape. From cig-a-likes that gave my first real hope that I could quit smoking, to getting a few ego's and a PT, thinking I had found vape heaven, lol, going to a quality regulated, then searching for the something missing feeling, I bought my first rba. What an eye opener. I then moved into DIY juice mixing, and really saving on juice. Then I ventured slowly into mechanical mods with a kick 2. Improved my builds bought some more rba's, 30 & 50 amp batteries, and ventured into the sub ohm zone.

Currently 4 mechs, 2 authentic, 2 clones, one being a 26650 mech mod. Also have a VV Box Mod with 20 watt capable output, powered with 2 26500 batteries 3000 mah each. Still waiting on a couple high output VW regulated mods. Love this beast, can vape for 2 days at 20 watts. Nothing fancy, just press the button and vape. lol

I couldn't be where I am at today without taking my progressive vape steps, and the effort here that encourages learning and searching first. All the information about builds, batteries, types of atomizers, style, I have found here. How to mix, and purchase, found all that here at the ECF.

One of my pif buds that I gave an ego and pt to, just messaged me about his new Kayfun. PIF brings extra value to ones old vape gear. It's kewl to help others discover vape!

Vape long and Prosper.
