I love vaping. Quite a bit, I've been vaping almost 5 years now, and I have a dirty little secret....

I still smoke analogs.

Now, I know I just heard the whole forum friggin gasp at that sentiment, but I just have the hardest time getting past the first day. Someone always is around to bum a cig from if I don't have any, and I get cravings like mad for them from time to time, even while vaping. I wanna ditch them. Bad. They stink and cost too much, but then again you all knew that. I think I'm pretty well set for equipment, so its not like I need to hop from an Ego-T to something nice, but I think I may just be having a hard time kickin them from habit.

Anywho, I was hoping the Vets had some good words of advice, or even just encouragement for us closet analog guys who are down to 1-5 analogs a day from 20+ and still having a trick of a time getting away from em.

:smokie: Lastly, lets be honest, the only cool looking dude with an analog is that emoticon.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There are a lot of vaper's that still have a few cigs a day. There's are a couple things you can try.

1) Up your nic level
2) Try WTA (Whole Tobacco Alklakoids) Whole Tobacco Alkaloids (WTA e-Liquid) FAQ | VapeliciousVapelicious

Since you've been vaping for 5 yrs now then some drastic steps may be needed. I would try one of the 2 suggestions above and stay away from smokers. I know that will be hard but if you really want to quit then you've got to do what you've got to do. ;)

Edit: Another thing you might try is NET. Here is a link to a good description of it. Goodejuice Naturally Extracted Tobacco eliquid. | Goodejuice Electronic Cigarettes

I will be honest,

I stopped vaping for a long time, and recently picked it back up again.
I am still trying to kick analogs, but I am down (in the past week) to about 5 a day.
Some times less cause I will smoke half or a couple of drags and throw it away.

So, you are not alone, and no, it is not easy, if it were easy, the gums and patches would work
You can't beat yourself up for it either.

Work on it this way.....

Man that looks like a tasty smoke, but I have my mod and a full tank

do as tmcase stated, but also, crank up the voltage a bit and vape that for about 3 or 4 good draws
it may kick your ...., but you may forget that you want a smoke.
See if that helps.

And to quote RipTripper, "Smoking is dead, Vapor is the future and the future is now."
There is something to be said about that philosophy. Learn it, live it, love it. you will stop smoking.
And, there is no real harm in an analog every blue moon, your goal is to quit them 99.99999% of the time

After so many years of smoking, you can't ask for more than that from any body.

These are the things I tell myself as well, and I struggle. So, hope that helps.

Last note: You have to think of it in milestones. Or cresting mountains
Sounds like you have conquered the mountains, now they are just hills or even bumps.

You know I just heard this trick the other day. I can't test it but i bet it will work. I'm almost 2 year off analogs. If you get really crazy for an analog go chain vape for 15 min. You will lose your desire for the analog and the vape for a good long while. Should be able to use your current nic level with this. But if you have to up it. OH pm me or leave a post here on how it worked.

Just don't stress over it, let it happen in its own time :) You can force the change somewhat, but don't beat yourself up over whether you do or not. Measure your success in every cigarette NOT smoked because of vaping rather than worrying about the couple of smokes you still have.

My last cigarette was smoked first thing in the morning before I left for work, it was the only one I had left on me. I panicked a little, as I would have no opportunity to buy more smokes until after work, but I just didn't let it get to me since I had my PV with me and kept telling myself "I'll grab some on the way home if I need to." When I left work yeah I was craving a smoke, but I went straight home without hitting the store.

Just find something else to distract/occupy you so you don't dwell on it too much. In my case, I had some extra motivation since I already refrained from smoking in the house and went outside to smoke. I did vape inside, however, and it was middle of winter so maybe that extra motivation of not having to go out into the sub-zero temps helped ;-)
