I collect and love watches, and a jump hour is a cool complication on a mechanical watch....the hours are shown digitally in a cut out on the dial, instead of using a hand. You can see one in my avatar.
Variation on other nicks i've used. Plus it's accurate. Just another free spirit wandering the land.

I discovered the old '80s cartoon series Voltron in the summer of '97 (I was a bit young to "get it" back when it first aired in '84-'85). I was intrigued by the bad guys in that series, who lived on Planet Doom. That's where the "Doomite" thing comes from. I was so into Voltron that I created my own alter-ego based on that series and named myself Ashkelon after the name of a city I thought sounded cool from the Bible. One time in like 2001, I did a mashup of Doomite and Ashkelon, and have used that as a username ever since.

I bought a scanner at staples once and his name was walterWalter is a nickname from high school (long story), and SCAN is a nickname from another forum I used to frequent (acronym for the name I used there). So I mashed 'em together.I think it gives people the impression I'm a guy sometimes though...

Mine was suppose to be a play on part of my last name....the intent was for it to be read as "Vaporize", but I'm thinking that part is largely missed by most readers.

Back in my prime I was ranked top 20 in Unreal Tournament, usually floating around top 5 on a good week. My Clan was number 1 twice in different leagues. My favorite mouse back then was a plain three button mouse with a ball, I used ball mouses up until I retired from FPS's because of my habit of lifting the mouse to reposition (laser would freak out on me).
When I played on public servers I actually use a different name just because of people calling a hacker or aim to user. Oddly enough aimbots were created by the same guy that set out that prove somebody was using them and try ping to find a way to detect them in Unreal Tournament.
My fav was ut2k3. Wall dodge just made it too easy....
