Because I was feeling ambiguous when it came time to pick my avatar, and I didn't want to use my face. Plus that little guy was the perfect mix of cute and creepy, peeking in the door at me like that, and I thought the photo was kinda cool. (For those that didn't read the other thread, it's a chimney swift that broke into my laundry room last summer.)

(Face available via profile picture, if ya gotta know.)

Mine just tends to make me laugh every time I see it. I was thinking about photoshopping a REO in the Manatee's flipper, with a bunch of vapor coming out of the shark's mouth..... One day.

Also, I'm like the manatee in the picture, lazy, but too much of a social butterfly at times, lol. :p

Your avatar makes me giggle every time I see it, too. :D

Back then we never realized that vintage guitars would rise in value. I tried out a gently used Vox Super Beatle that a guy wanted $400 for. It was a great amp and would be worth many times that today, but I decided not to buy it after trying it out on a gig. I ended up trading the Berkley on a Fender Bandmaster 2-15" amp that I later sold and then bought an 8-12" Gibson Magnum 800 amp (800 watts RMS). I used that for years and ran the master volume on 1 in most clubs!

I think the ex's dad has a Super Beatle out in the garage actually hah. Not sure cause its buried against the back wall and his old 50 something VW is in the way but whatever it is its got the trapezoidal head and the cabinet has the good old rack holding it.. One of these days Ill make him come get it out.. I think he told me once it was a bass amp though and I dont think the Super Beatle was ever a 'bass' model.. Its sitting right next to an old as hell Hammond B3 with the Leslie cabinet. I really wanna get to that thing and rape it for the tubes for my Marshall and my Vox.. I bet theres some killer old glass in that thing thats dying to be put to use..

I'm an acoustic man myself....the one that got away from me was a nice Breedlove acoustic electric. Action was so smooth, and the tone.....the whole body would reverberate with the lightest of strum (but not rattle with a heavy one). It was a finger pickers dream. Sadly I had rent due........now I am playing an ovation. While not bad.....its just adequate
