I don't want to freak people out, but I DO want to get your attention. PLEASE take your time to comment. You don't even have to sign up for anything. The FDA is trying to ban all non face to face sales of tobacco products, which includes our e-liquid. This needs comments done BY DECEMBER 8TH! ONLY TWO DAYS! I'm just not sure enough people realize what's going on and how important this is. Yes there will be DIY, and ways around it, but I don't want to loose my favorite liquid vendors and I'm sure you don't either.

Big thanks to Brewlady for bringing this to the forum's attention. I'm just trying to get even more attention to this very urgent issue.

Here's my 1,939 submitted words:

I am of legal age to use tobacco products. I was born October 31, 1973. I smoked cigarettes for over 25 years, beginning when I was a youth. I attempted quitting smoking through every media available (gums, patches, losenges and prescription drugs), to no satisfaction. I always returned to cigarettes.

On February 19, 2011 I began using a personal vaporizer (PV) (i.e. electronic cigarette). I quit using cigarettes completely. I have experienced improved cardio and pulmonary health since my cessation from cigarettes, as well as my quality of life.
This regulation jeopardizes my ability to continue using my PV by sactioning the on-line vendors where I purchase the nicotine liquids used in the PV.

There are only 2 face-to-face vendors of nicotine liquids in my immediate area (to my knowledge). They sell nicotine liquid from an unknown source at a highly inflated cost with absolutely no idea of the ingredients. The online vendors I purchase from test, manufacture and sell quality nicotine liquids with verifiable ingredients.

I understand the neccessity to prevent children from using tobacco products. I agree that regulations should be imposed to prevent persons under legal age from purchasing these items. The problem with this regulation is that there is no way for on-line vendors to assure the legal age of their consumers, other than age verification at time of delivery. This would prevent shipment to persons of legal age who are gainfully employed and are not at their respective shipping addresses during regular business hours.

I respectfully disagree with the choke-hold the FDA is trying to put on a budding industry (electronic cigarettes) that stands to improve the health of unlimited cigarette addicts.

*Include snide remark about the fundamental break-down of governmental agency honor and integrity in light of back-room deals with corporate bribery and criminal behavoir

Sincerely,
Douglas J Arnold

Doug you put that so much better than i ever could. however i did post a comment to further the cause. I so dont wanna go back to analogs. I feel better and i enjoy life again. For so long i was hating life cause it all seemed like a big blur of needing a smoke. i could not wait till break time or a off day just to smoke. I did not enjoy it, i stopped enjoying it years ago. I was smoking to not feel bad! i cant go back to that ever again.

I am posting my comment here so I can try submitting again when I get home. For some reason it was "unsuccessful" and when I tried again the whole comment page was hinkey!! I'll cut & paste and try if from home.

LEAVE E-LIQUID ALONE

I purchase all my e-liquid on the internet using a credit card. You have to be 18 to acquire a credit card which would be your verification of age. If someone under the age of 18 should get a parent’s credit card, that becomes a domestic matter. Personally, I’m 48 and have no one under the age of 18 in my household. Marketing to children of this product is wrong and any company do so should be run out of town. But you know what, it was marketed to me from the first day I was born....but did any one get run out of town? Should it be marketed as a smoking cessation product, no...that is not what it is.

I am a nicotine addict of 30+ years. I smoked a pack to one and a half packs a day. I’ve tried all of the FDA’s approved nicotine replacement methods including the patch (started on the highest strength), gum, lozengers, Chantix all to no avail. I even went so far as to being hypnotized twice together with some sort of laser treatment on my ear, neither of which worked. I tried cold turkey and almost had a wreck because my mind was fighting an urge to not pull into a convenience store and purchase a pack of cigarettes.

After a person I knew told me about vaping, and doing some extensive research of the product that she was using, I began vaping on October 14, 2011. I was very skeptical of it. In only a little over two months, I can now take a HUGE deep breath and not go into a coughing fit. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world. I don’t wake up in the morning coughing. My energy level has improved. My complexion, teeth and even my fingernails look better, not to mention I don’t smell like an ashtray. I have only good things to say about vaping and I recommend it to every smoker I know to just try it.

It would be nice for a change if our government would actually listen to people such as myself and many others. Maybe research this method instead of regulating it so strictly right off the bat. I am not hurting anyone vaping, but most ashamedly I may have when I smoked cigarettes. The only thing this will cause if for e-liquid to go underground, just like .......... You haven’t stopped the sale of ......... yet or any of the other ILLEGAL drugs for that matter, none of which I use. Nicotine has been a LEGAL drug in this country before I was born and this fact alone makes your banning notion ludicrous.

I commented as well citing specifics about my own personal experiences with the DRUGS they push that were originally designed for Mental Illnesses and Not as Smoking Cessation Drugs and the potentially deadly side effects that those drugs have and that if they wish to regulate them as Tobacco that they should first PROVE without a shadow of a doubt that they ARE IN Fact Harmful to the public health, not simply the Public perception. Before they Label them As Tobacco they Must Prove that they have the same harmful effects OF Tobacco. That I truly believe will be Impossible to accomplish solely based on my own personal Health Improvements such as an increase in Blood Oxygen Levels, (94% Pulse Oxygen Level when I smoked went up to 98-99% Pulse Oxygen Level now that I only Vape) and the biggest improvement is the indisputable Improvement in the time it takes me to run a mile and a half for my bi-annual physical fitness assessment for the Navy. When I smoked I ran it in 13 minutes 45 seconds, the last one I took last month after 7 months of vaping I ran it in 11 minutes 19 seconds. THAT IS A HUGE Improvement that is Physically Measurable!!!

Will somebody PLEASE put these damn threads in the political section!!

These are really important threads that need to be on TOP in general vaping where the most traffic can see and contribute to them. This is serious stuff, if things like this get passed how long until you having your PV is illegal?

To everyone else who has shown concern, and fought the site to get their comment in... THANK YOU. You don't have to stop there either. E-mail your senators, congress people, everybody's effort counts. We are a minority and need to work together to keep our rights.
