URGENT - FDA needs comments!!

I feel yet again the FDA is pushing this too far there are far worst things out today that children can get off and from the Internet that e-liquids with nicotine in it that the FDA should be worried about! Please see it from the side of how this has helped soo many people get off cigarettes and not keep trying to close it down. Think of it as saving lives by getting people off the nasty chemicals in cigarettes! Thank you for listening.

Please consider, after commenting to the FDA, commenting to your elected Federal representatives. They may not even be consciously aware of this/these proposal(s) by the FDA.

Sadly, my representatives just respond with form letters telling me that liquid has antifreeze in it. :glare:

Merely anecdotal, but I was watching some television with my son a few days back. He's 12 years old and was able to see the giant FDA WTF when he heard the drug commercial listing various types of cancer that (as he understood it said) could be caused by taking the drug. I just told him the people that approved that drug are the same people that want me to quit vaping and start smoking again. He facepalmed, LOL.

At least they acknowledged the topic of your letter, even if not in a satisfactory way. I've twice submitted comments on various proposals regarding e-cigs and actually gotten a response, but neither time was my comment even addressed directly, it was just a plain "thanks for your concern, your opinion is important to us" form letter :facepalm: Put me on a bunch of worthless campaign mailing lists, too, as if flooding my inbox every week is going to garner my vote. Not quite the level of personal attention that I feel should be required to be given to a concerned voter by someone who is in their job at the behest of said voters . . . I'm just gonna stop now before I go into another rant . . .

Right now, the FDA is working on legislation that will classify electronic cigarettes like all other tobacco products. This includes allowing only face-to-face sales, no internet sales. No flavored nicotine liquid, only tobacco or menthol flavor. This is a serious threat.

PLEASE, if you haven't already done so, join CASAA. It's free to join.

Please join us for the bi-weekly CASAA Member Meeting tonight at 7:30 EST. If you cannot access the AnyMeeting program for some reason, email your 10-digit phone number to board@casaa.org and you will still be able to participate (audio only). We will call your phone when the meeting starts.

Webinars, Web Conferences and Online Meetings hosted by CASAA | AnyMeeting.com

All others click the location link and then click "Join Meeting" button under "Upcoming Webinars" enter your name and email and you will be able to access the meeting.

Hope to see you there!

You need to use skype (everyone just about has that - don't use more obscure websites), it does conferencing for free. I'd be on Skype for this, but I don't want to sign up for another website, its annoying. Use things that most people have or have heard about already. Use things that people can get on their iPhone, Ipad or Android - this is the common equipment nowadays, not a desktop.

I'm thinking better to write to someone like Rush Limbaugh (a vapor himself) who has the means to make this public & talk about it. THAT will get the politicos attention (because he [& other talk show hosts] makes the politicos afraid, very afraid).

Even if you detest Rush, writing to him about this, will get his attention, & he is liable to even put it on the air.

I have never had any luck with writing to a politician either, they are useless.

ETA: I've read that politicians consider 1 hand-written letter is also equal to 10-20 emails. So something to keep in mind.

Here's one thing I don't get. None of the organizations or the government is saying a thing about the drugs that are approved by the FDA and suppose to be safe.

Here are the side effects of nicotine:

Abnormal dreams; ........; difficulty sleeping; dry mouth; joint pain; muscle pain; nervousness; sweating; weakness.

Here are the side effects of Aleve:

chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance;
black, bloody, or tarry stools;
coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;
swelling or rapid weight gain;
urinating less than usual or not at all;
nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; or
fever, headache, neck stiffness, chills, increased sensitivity to light, purple spots on the skin, and/or seizure (convulsions)

I mean; OMG - seriously? You think my PV might be bad for me?

There is no sign-up for the meetings with the site they use now. I just put in my CASAA member name and email address, then it opens. A couple meetings past, they were talking about using Skype, but there is a limit to the number of people you can have in a call.

It's worth stopping in and checking out, but I do agree that a different format would be better ... trying to follow the chat in there is crazy, LOL.
