Just got a new Z-Atty with the ceramic wick. I went through the start up process and got the coils to fire in what I think is a reasonable manor, although it takes about six seconds to really turn em orange. I'm getting 1.9 ohms on the coil and running the ProVari at 3.5 to 4.5 with not much change in the vapor production.
Once I've fired it a few times the coils seem to respond a little faster but I'm not getting the vapor production I would like and it seems to taper off in short order.
It came with the stainless wicks as well as the ceramic and I was considering trying those out,but before I do I thought I would check with y'all first.

I've read all the different ways to improve things, but there's so damn many of them that I dont know where to start.
What would you try first?

go to the next vape meet and ask around......

Sorry it is in galveston, but they can't all be on the west side.

Go to one of the B&Ms and ask around, there are several near you.

Live with it...... Several of my RBAs need to burn for 4 or 5 seconds to get going, I just let it run for a few seconds, sool for 1 run for a few, then vape.....

well if you are visiting her this weekend, I live in League City you are welcome to drop in and we can take a look at it.

Have you tried contacting the vender yo ugot it from? Or calling House of Hybrids?

If I head to the Vap meeting I'll get in touch.
I ordered some CX-116 this morning and I plan on picking up some assorted gauge wire to mess with and see what happens.
Right now I've got the 33 with four to five wraps on 400 mesh and it wicks better but the taste is God awful.
As far as getting in touch with ProVape and asking them? I figure there isn't much that can go wrong with the Z-Atty,it's a simple device and it's more about set up. And I can learn pretty much learn all I need to know right here.

I've read a little on breaking in the wick so that may be a factor.

did you clean the wicks in alcohol or water before using, ditto the atomizer.

And I was talking about calling the house of hybrids, the guys who actually designed the atomizer you are having trouble with, not the mod guys.

I didnt clean the wick. But Zens vid didnt say it was required. Live and learn I guess.
I went back to the ceramic wick and added a wrap and got 2.4 (had 1.9) ohms which seamed to help with the vapor production(ProVari recommends 2.8 to 3.2 ohms) The taste with the ceramic is great and the wicking seams to have improved with the higher ohm coil or maybe it's just getting broken in.
The XC-116 should help with the wicking and the vapor production(if you believe all the hype).
I like tinkering with stuff so I'm going to hold off on calling House of Hybrids unless I cant figure it out on my own or through ECF.

That 1.9 should've been fine. If you didn't torch the wicks, then it needs to be broken in. Pulse hitting until the coils evenly glow then it's broken in.

I got the coils burning nice and even. The stainless wicks from Zen come pre oxidized so I assumed I was good. Live and learn.
I went back to the ceramic and I think it had more to do with the hard ceramic wick not being broken in. It seems to be improving the more I use it.

On my Genesis units, they take a few tanks or even a bottle of juice to really settle down, also I tend to hover around 2.0 ohm (forgot how to hot-key the symbol) even so, it might take a 6 count or so to heat up and really produce depending on the voltage.

Which RDA did yo get? My local vape shop guys are cloud chasing with omegas and high amp sony 18650s

Went to the local B&M and picked up a cheap sixteen buck job..tried it,and ordered a Trident V2 as fast as I could type.
I'm running the cheapo on a Provari with the 18650 bat at 1.1 ohms which from what I've read is about as low as I can go.
Huge clouds and taste. I'd thought about going mech, but if the Provari keeps going like it is I dont see a reason to....just yet;)

One thing i have noticed when first wrapping the coil is that your most likely going to have issues when its first built. After a couple fills is when it really breaks in. When i am at 1.9Ω i find that 5volts is better for me. But the good thing about ecigs, is not all 2 people will like the same thing. You will build it a few times and then find your style and it will get easier from there. Enjoy your zen because i sure love mine :)

I figured there would be a learning curve and I like a little bit of a challenge so no biggie.
I would much rather rely on my own skills to get that perfect vape vs buying leaky coils heads that dont perform near as well.
I'm just ready for it to start being cheaper than analogs:p
