The curation engine needs work. So, I canceled by pre-CE Zamplebox and signed up for the CE version. IIRC, there were four questions that dealt, specifically, with flavor preference. Basically, do you like tobacco? Do you like menthol? Do you like fruit and a "what flavor would you want on a desert island" type question. No confectionery, bakery or drink questions were presented. I answered yes to tobacco, no to menthol, yes to fruit and chose tobacco as my must-have flavor. I had a nagging feeling after I selected "yes" to the fruit flavor question and submitted my answer that I should go back and change it. I didn't see a way to do that though. When I finished the questionnaire there was no indication of what my profile might be and no way, that I could find, to review my answers. ...let alone change them. So what did I get in my first curated Zamplebox? Five fruit flavored liquids and one tobacco flavor.

This after my March box was filled with, what seemed like, a never-ending assortment of blackberry flavor liquids. Most of those are in a box in the closet and many, if not all, of the April liquids will wind up there as well. I think I'm going to cancel until ZB institutes a more granular and robust system. Rather than just take my ball and go home though; I'd like to offer some suggestions.
- Replace the "yes" and "no" answers with "always", "sometime" and "never"
- Allow all answers to be reviewed and changed prior to final submission.
- Display the curated flavor profile generated by the CE prior to final submission
I love the idea behind Zamplebox but I'm receiving too many flavors that I don't have any interest in. Hopefully, in a few months, they'll tweak the CE and I can give it another go.
