I couldn't post this in the right forum so i put it here, the UD Zephyrus is the worst thing i have ever come across ( Zephyrus Sub Ohm Tank by Youde - Kidney Puncher ) I purchased this tank due to reviews i have read and many think it is awsome. Oh Contrare. first of all there were no instructions with the tank to determine if it was top loading or bottom loading ( had to watch a youtube to figure it out), secondly even when properly seated it leaks like a sive. i finally loaded it up and let the coils steep for about 5 min and low and behold at a setting of 25W it tasted like burnt rubber. replaced the factory coil with a new one waited again and dropped it to 15W and then to 8W with new steeped juice, again burnt rubber. this thing was horrid.I thought it might be my istick 40W so i put the new tank on my i30 and same thing, swapped my atlantis to the i40W and it was smooth and flavorfull. I went back to my iStick 30W and my atlantis tank.

I alway prime the coils on any tank. If you don't, there is a good chance you will get burnt hits. So many people like it, have you ever considered it might be user error? Maybe, rather than bash a tank you don't understand, you could have asked questions about how to properly use it?

not only did i prim it but i also had an expert (and i do mean an expert) take a look at it. he knew the tank and had the same issues.

You didn't mention that you primed it in the first post. I've seen too many people say a tank sucks when they didn't prepare it right. I've heard too many good things about it myself to jump in and bash it. Did you clean it good before using? That's another biggie to me since no tank or rda I've gotten has been good and clean?

I'm firing two 6 wrap 2.5mm id, 24 awg coils with organic cotton ohming at 0.2 at 45 watts. No leaks, plenty of air flow, plenty of vapour. Been using my Zephyrus for 2 or 3 months now with no problems. Going to try some thicker wire at some point, maybe 22 might even go to 20, if i can squeeze it in :). Never even used the coil head, it's not why i bought it, in fact i'd forgotten i even had it, i don't even know where it is !.

BAD CASE of not ready for this!!!!!!

First thing, did you fully clean it?

Second - Chinese Tanks rarely come with anything but the Box.......Box if lucky, or a baggy

3rd leaking on a Build it yourself Deck is User Error.(or flooded if pre-made)
Maybe even damaged seal during installation - things need to be checked before use.

Consider watching a few more videos and then giving things another go.........following closely to what you learn.

Good Luck!

I do not even own one yet, but studying the design and reviews while waiting, along with being familiar with(owning) UD devices and their reliability I cannot make any other call on this.

yeah, when i first got it there were instructions on the back of the item as to how to take it completely apart for cleaning. so i did when i ran into issues with the taste. i have been vapeing long enought to know how to do that. after cleaning it with alcohol and letting it dry, i inspected all the parts for damage and replaced the coil. I preloaded the coil by letting it soak in a cup with about a quarter inch of juice before installing it. i then assembled everything and filled the tank as per video from the top but only a quarter full. still leaked and still had a god awful taste...that is why i took it to a tech, he said he would fix it up and see what up..called me back and said he experienced the same issue. i want to clarify that i did not bash this product due to in-experience or through rage..i took many steps to ensure that it was not me screwing this up. however after 2-3 days of trying to get this thing to work properly it fails too continually. i just dont want others to have the same issue i am.

I never used a prebuilt coils outside of my 1st 2 weeks of vaping.(well outside of a "try my tank/juice out" here and there) So I can't speak of the coil heads I trashed mine soon as i bought my zephyrus. Sounds like your bashing something you don't know how to use.
Have the "expert" Build/wick a dual coil 24g 2mm 10wraps. If it leaks look for a new "expert".

I also had bad times with this tank, I really like ud rtas and still do.
The design behind the tank is great but mine just didn't work, I tried multiple builds ni200 and kanthal and loads of different wicking methods, it wasn't a leaking issue or burning but it just lacks flavour!

I love the goblin and currently use the Goliath v2, I don't know if I got a bad tank but I really hate the fact it would be a great rta if only the flavour was on level with other rtas, I put it down to the air flow just being too big and gave up.

Look the only real problem, which i can see with the Zephyrus, is that you can't adjust the wick or coil without having to empty the tank and take the whole thing apart. I had a problem with it the other day. I had recoiled the damn thing then filled it and started vaping and it wasn't wicking properly so, huh uh, i had to go through the process of emptying the tank, and once i managed to take it apart, which isn't easy sometimes, re-wick it, then put it all back together again. Proper nightmare !. So you have to guarantee that the coil and wick are perfect before hand. I have found that the wick doesn't have to go far down the juice channels. If you take a closer look at those with a lense you can see the part where the wick is actually supposed to sit is quite large, but it isn't deep. So you do have to double check it's sitting right before you put the thing back together.

Bad case of not reading what the OP actually wrote ;) he's talking about the stock coil. In fact two posters have said the same thing so it's very possible they got a bad batch of coils. It happens.

never tried the stock coil but I use the RBA deck. never had any issues. no leaks. works great. you might give building your own coils a try. if still leaking check all the O rings.could be a bad seal. don't give up on the tank cause once you figure out your issue, I think you will like it. it's not uncommon for directions NOT to be included. if your confused about the build you can always head over to YOUTUBE and check out the build video on the tank. compare the steps to what your doing. the videos will break the builds down in steps and might help you out. when in doubt watch a YouTube video on the build. I think it might help you out. after the videos give the RBA deck a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. could be bad pre made coils. the RBA deck should work better.hope this helps. best wishes

I just bought one today and had the same issue. With the atomizer I had, I also, like you let it steep for a little while, things were going fine, and then bam, burning, and burnt rubber taste. I took the factory coil apart, and a piece of the coil was sticking out into the rubber washer and burnt the .... out of it. So don't worry man, it's not your fault. I made a profile on here just to specifically tell you, because I googled the issue first and saw this crap. I urge you not to give up on the tank, because it is a good one, I guess the factory atomizers should just be checked first. Live and learn.

I realise I'm late to answer, but I can confirm that the burning rubber is a manufacturing fault.

The two coils inside are wrapped from a single length of wire. So one of the legs has a fold in it and is intended to be the ground leg. This one is supposed to be touching the outer casing of the head. The remaining two legs are supposed to be inside the rubber gasket, touch the +ve insert. If you look at the outer casing there is a little relief surrounding the two positive legs so they don't touch the outer case.

The fault, quite simply, is that the +ve and ground have been swapped. Because the double/folded leg has no relief around it and has been connected to the positive insert by mistake, there is a very good chance it work short circuit to the outer case. Happened to one of mine.

The good news is that you can fix it simply enough as long as you haven't used it yet . :)
