the blades are beautiful, but you really don't want a knife to take out zombies. a bat is bad enough! You don't want to let them get that close to you unless you have no other option....

A bat will work, but if you have the choice between a long machete/sword or a bat, go with the blade. A simple decapitation should be all you need to drop a zombie in its tracks.

Picked up a CZ RSR Retro! Still cant find a lot of info on how many were produced back in 04. Survey says anywhere from 200 to 1,000. I may actually trade in my Berettas for a couple CZ Phantoms after seeing how good they feel and point!

Curious to get opinions... I have looking through this thread a few times since joining. And while I don't mind discussing anything in the OUTSIDE!, I'm hesitant to ever post my inventory and pictures of my perfectly legal firearms, knives, and other hunting or survival tools or interests. For fear of thieves, both private and Government, ... #PARANOIA, maybe. I'd love to share but nerves get me every time. -Magnus

I say go ahead and share 'em. While I dont completely trust our government, and truely feel they will be the cause of Z-Day, I am not worried about them showing up at my door to take my weapons. If they do, they can have my "registered" weapons, with a fight of course, or cash money in hand. If they show up to just take them, you might read about a stubborn southern guy who holed up in his house, and went out in a blaze of glory, but not before taking many with him.

Seriously though, if you are worried, you dont have to show pics, or even say what you have. You can just find cool tools on the interweb and post pics/links for us to look at and discuss. Whether you own it or not, is not really important, but finding new and unique weapons and tools, thats important.

Nice find on the CZ's mutt, they were kind of shunned for a long time before people realized how good they were. To Magnus, feel free to list or don't list your personal collection. By the same token, DO feel free to discuss what your opinions are on any weapon 'owned or not' here. The only thing I ask is that you don't post second hand information in the WEAPONS REVIEWS thread, only personal experience and opinions there. We might not be the Outside here but we're pretty open to anything that isn't a personal attack. FWIW, I love my country, but my government scares me to death ;) With that being said, 'hypothetical' discussion is always safe and deniable if you know what I mean.

Wow, that is a good price! I haven't dealt with them personally but they've been advertising in Shotgun News for what seems like forever. From what I've heard (subtle disclaimer there), they fall in the middle ground as far as quality and accuracy. Not great but not terrible either. I'd say to re-consider getting a 20" barrel though to take full advantage of that 1:7 twist though. Not to teach grandma how to suck eggs but... you know 55gr bullets don't like the fast twist and you should stick with 62gr up if you use that rate or go with the 1:9 which they tailored for the 55gr.

I have a 20" 1:9 already.Looking for a carbine length as I am toying with getting into some 3 gun competitions. So far I have gotten some really good feedback on other forums. I may bite the bullet and post a review!

I can find reasons not to trust the government to a certain extent, but not in this realm. It would take far too many employees to scour forums and compile a list. After compiling the list, it wouldn't be very reliable, so I doubt they would spend the man-hours on such a thing. It's easier for them to just track sales from ffls. Even though that list will still be inaccurate, it will still be more accurate than a forum mining list would be. I'm a fairly paranoid guy, and I've posted my weapons online. :)

Nice!

I've never dealt with dsarms, but they don't stand out as a place that people speak poorly of at the firearm forums I go to. Good prices would be nice to find about now . . . prices are getting ridiculous around here.

Not to keep anyone from posting freely but the government doesn't need scores of people sifting through forums, they have a computer (or more properly computerS) that do that already. Any and all forms of electronic communication from cell phone conversations, texts, twits..er tweets, and any other information transmitted with electricity is monitored, saved, and scanned for key words that can trigger a more in depth investigation if needed. This has been operational since the 90's but is currently being used primarily for the war on terrorism. SO, don't feel the need to censor yourself for the governments sake, they already know about it! :D Not saying so to deter 'common' thieves, is a valid point though. Just don't post your physical address online or mask/re-direct it with false information. Few are the people I've met online that I've trusted with my physical address past the regional level!

Oh and the price on the stripped upper was/is $325 without a bolt or carrier. If you're looking for a complete rifle, they can be found around the $600 range new.

They'd still need to unbox all of that information, and by then, I will have sold off whatever I had posted to pay for my overdue bills. ;^)

True about the 90's . . . 7h@ 12 73h WH0l3 R3AS0N L337sP3aK wa2 1Nv3N73d . . . 70 sK1p 831N9 P1Ck3D uP. Too bad it can be translated now.

I've been seeing plenty of complete rifles for around $700 in Washington and Idaho, but they are hovering around $1000 here in Oregon. Haven't been able to find an SKS for less than $450 for the last month either. Maybe since the rapture didn't happen the prices will start to drop again.

Wow! Those have gone up lol. I got one about ten years ago at a flea market for 120 bucks or so. Norinco I think is what it is. Got it and a couple of Egyptian Maadi Ak's, but they were horrible to shoot. Ditched'em pretty quick.

SKS'S are running from $150-$250 around here. There is one at the little shop I go to that he is asking $280 for, but its already sitting in a tapco, collapsible stock. It also has the flash suppressor installed, so i guess its not too bad of a price, but I still told him it was too much money. Brand new flat top AR's are running $719 OTD and handle tops are $699 OTD, but thats for DPMS and Olympic AR's.

I have not picked up any new weapons for a while. Wife just had a baby, and dirt bike season is back lol. But my next purchase is gonna be massive. I so want a belt fed something or another. Probably gonna run with a rpd. Pkm is to damn expensive. Plus, 7.62x39 is still cheap compared to lots of other ammo. Even 9mm lol, go figure.

I guess I should have phrased that better . . . speaking mainly of used rifles. People are holding on to their rifles here, and only the expensive ones are being sold. I used to scan through three or four dozen new ads per day, but I'm only seeing about half that per week.

The SKS was original and the guy was selling it as a collectors' item. :quotation fingers:
