These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
This is a great performing 18650! At 10A/30W to 30A/90W it performs the same or better than any 18650 I’ve tested, equaling the Molicel P30B at 30A…which is incredible.

At 5A/15W the EVE 35V and Vapcell F38 are better performers. At 5A/15W it doesn’t quite match the Samsung 30Q and Murata VTC6 but it’s about the same as the LG MJ1, Molicel P28A, and Molicel P28B.

I have not tested the cycle life of this cell and do not know if it sacrifices that for better short-term performance.

Vapcell’s 30A continuous current rating is high since this cell reaches its max temperature spec of 75°C at about 25A. Its voltage also sags too much at 45A so I am giving it a non-continuous, temperature-limited rating of 40A. Never let it get hotter than 75°C and I strongly recommend staying under 60°C to prevent accelerated aging of the cell.

Two cells delivered 2922mAh and 2938mAh which is great consistency but that’s under the 3000mAh rating. Since I cannot have the lowest capacity cells in the batch I am rating them at 2900mAh. This means nothing for our real world use though since it performs so well (small voltage sag). Just another example of how the capacity spec shouldn’t be used on its own to choose longer running cells.

The DC internal resistances for the two cells were 10.8mOhm and 11.1mOhm, also very consistent. Both cells performed essentially identically.

► Vandy Vape PULSE AIO V2; First Impressions:
For this test I obtained the Klein Blue color version of the Vandy Vape PULSE AIO V2 from @sourcemore. The first visual impact is pleasant thanks to the combination of colors and materials, the blue aluminum frame appears well painted, and contrasts pleasantly with some black or transparent parts, the transparency of the external panels allows you to clearly see the tank with its level of e-liquid, and also to see the 18650 battery. Furthermore, the Vandy Chip version 3.0.1 board is also clearly visible through the second internal transparent panel. All this undoubtedly creates a notable scenographic effect. In use, the square shape of the Mod does not affect handling thanks to the beveled edges and the fairly low weight of this kit which is around 120 grams.



The aluminum structure features the small and sober "Vandy Vape" writing on one side, and on the other side it houses the three large slots for the air flow which is then directed towards the cartridge inside the Mod.



The V2's transparent panels are removable thanks to a small notch at the bottom where you can insert a fingernail and pull to extract. The small magnets are really very powerful and the panels, once inserted into their seat, do not generate any anomalous movement. As you can see the Fire button occupies a central position, easy to reach, the feedback is very good when pressing it, I must say that I also really like the Pulse symbol under the Fire button. Always from this side you can see; the back of the cartridge, the 18650 battery and the printed circuit board.

Design
The device has a stick form factor, which is a little bit bulky, but it’s still comfortable to hold and vape. The device has a huge screen with all the information you might need while vaping right there. As you can see in the picture above, it comes in multiple different colors to choose from. The device has an airflow control switch on the side and a button on the front. You have a window in the device on the front as well as the back, so you can clearly see your e-liquid level from every angle. The type-C charging port for the device can be found on the bottom.



Pods & Coils
The pods for this device are pretty big with a capacity of 5.3ml. I guess it depends on how you like to vape, but if you’re like me and you're mostly MTL with the occasional RDL, you’ll definitely get 2 days out of a pod before filling it up. I don’t think I’ve ever tried these coils, but the flavor performance on them is on par if not better than most pod devices I’ve tried lately. It’s always good to see pods with replaceable coils, for even less plastic waste. I’ve been using the 0.6 ohm coil the most and that would also be the one I personally prefer with my vaping style. Like I said, I lean a bit more towards that MTL style of vaping. The 0.3 ohm coil is really more for those people that like that direct lung hit.



Performance
Battery Life: As advertised, the 1500mAh battery easily lasts a full day, maybe even longer depending on usage. It charges quickly too, thanks to the Type-C charging port.
Power and Output: While the maximum wattage is 60W, you'll likely find yourself vaping comfortably between 20-40 watts with the 0.6 ohm coil, which provides a nice balance between flavor and vapor production. The 0.3 ohm coil delivers a stronger hit with more vapor, perfect for direct lung vapers who enjoy a cloud experience.
Draw and Airflow: The airflow control is smooth and responsive, allowing you to adjust from a tighter MTL draw to a more open DTL draw. This caters to a wide range of vaping styles and preferences.
Different modes to the button: When pressing the button twice you can decide what mode you want it to be in. Do you want the device to be locked and only button drawn? Do you want the button to be locked and be able to draw the smoke without holding the button or do you want to be able to do both? This device has options to do all of these.

TLDNR: pointless whining and stupidity
So I burned the hell out of my squonk. It was on watts for whatever reason and I dropped it in my pocket without turning it off first (yes, I know). Anyway it seems my metal tip was only metal shelled and plastic on the inside, and the plastic melted, so my main was out of commission. I went to my backup but misplaced it (the backup doesn’t have an AirTag). So I screwed an aromamizer tank to my main and am using that. I don’t like waiting for the wick to refill. I want my squonk back.

Aliexpress has a 510 adaptor for soldering irons to make a cordless soldering iron. No way to keep out soldering irons

Anyway it seems my metal tip was only metal shelled and plastic on the inside, and the plastic melted, so my main was out of commission. I went to my backup but misplaced it (the backup doesn’t have an AirTag). So I screwed an aromamizer tank to my main and am using that. I don’t like waiting for the wick to refill. I want my squonk back.
