Steel Cable Fed RDTAs and Top Coilers

RDTA steel

This will be what I hope will become a comprehensive list of standard sized RDTAs or “Top Coilers” that employ either steel cabling or rolled mesh or some other extra-capillary feeding system to deliver juice to our cotton. Plan to try some of these out and pair them with a side by side (Have a 2025 edition 80w Paramour by Mechvape, arrived July 10, 2025). Will update this post with my findings and as new devices are released. Feel free to point me in the direction of any I may have missed. Surprisingly there were just as few of these I could find as Boro RDTAs (see my other long form post) - I expected to find many more.

—————————- HAVE —————————-

- Hellvape Helheim S RDTA - A 25mm device with a 5mL capacity. Juice is fed to a single coil via 4 steel cables. This device features a postless deck design with 4 terminals designed so the coil can be wrapped left or right. A metal sheath protects the tank. I like this one particularly for its airflow - bottom and side airflow controlled individually with a ring and top cap respectively. There is also a 30mm version capable of dual coils and fed by 6 cables. Arrived a day early - 07/11/2025. Initial thoughts - this one is billed as a single coil device, but it can easily handle dual coils. And it has a LOT of airflow. For a single coil I find myself constraining the air down to only 20-40% open. And I like a good bit of air. I’m by no means a MTL vaper. Excellent flavor. And a good saturated vape the whole way through the tank. Steel braids are an excellent medium to transport juice. I particularly like the way the bottom airflow is redirected through tubes that also anchor the top cap and keep it anchored in place so the airflow stays in proper placement for the coil.

———- OTHER CABLE FED RDTAS ————

- Thunderhead Creations Artemis Top Coiler 24mm RDTA - Four braided cables feed a single coil. Features a postless clamping deck with two terminals and a single screw to adjust the closure. Single screw! How cool is that? Airflow is designed to come at the coil from below and at an angle. A tool is included to ensure you cut your coil leads to the proper size. It has a 4.5mL juice capacity and a honeycomb cage over the tank protects the glass. I really want one of these RDTAs. Looking for one in a stainless steel finish. They also have a special edition in which the steel cabling has been given a rainbow finish. Fun.

- Damn Vape Nitrous 24mm RDTA - A 24mm RDTA built to accommodate single or dual coils in a 4 terminal postless deck. 4 steel cables. 3ml capacity. A very traditional, old school airflow system with a ring to adjust between 10 airflow holes on either side. No single side airflow option here. Another single airflow ring may have been nice, as was typically customary in a design like this. Great color options although I’m boring and always gravitate toward the SS color way. Timeless.

- Vandy Vape Mato RDTA - features a postless deck atop a 5mL tank in a 24mm diameter caged tank. Honeycomb airflow. 4 steel braids to feed the cotton. Also features a squonk pin… but with a 5mL tank I struggle to see the point in this - that goes for most any RDTA with a squonk pin, tho.

- Wotofo Profile - 25mm 6.2mL caged tank. Versatile deck with options for a mesh coil, a dual coil, or single coil build. And can also convert into a standard RDA without the reservoir below. But when in RDTA mode four steel cables feed your wicks.

- Vapefly Brunhilde 103 RTA - RTA is a misnomer here - it is without a doubt a top coiler RDTA. This one has an 8mL tank and a 25mm diameter. She’s a big’un. They took a velocity style deck and added an airflow inlet so air comes in behind the coils and in front of the coils, as well. I feel like Cthulhu has a similar deck design in one of their RTAs. Caged tank. Suitable for dual coils.

- Vapefly Brunhilde MTL RTA - Features a clamping deck to make an easy install of a single coil to sit astride bottom airflow. I love a clamping deck. Airflow is adjustable with reducers screwed into the airflow inlet below the coil. 5mL tank employs two steel cables to feed the cotton with juice. Thanks @Daniel_Forsyth for contributing this one to this list.

- Taifun BT - Unobtanium - Released in 2017, this is perhaps the earliest example of an RDTA that used braided cable to feed a wick. But this one used mesh for the coil, as well, but did so with a vertical mesh coil and two vertical posts to secure it. The cotton was fed with four braided cables under the cotton and in front of the posts.

- Minoan Mods Ikarus RDTA - This device seems to have taken the Taifun BT cable system of four cables in front of the posts and put a velocity style deck in front of it so that it can only be built on one side of the deck. 8mL capacity and 25mm in diameter. Another big’un!

- Freak Mods Tokamak - One of the few truly MTL devices in the top coiler space with a deck capable of supporting both a single vertical and horizontal coil. 3mL capacity. Very unique.

- Exvape Expromizer TCX RDTA - A 25mm diameter and 7mL tank with 6 steel braids to feed cotton and a mesh oriented build deck that looks capable of also supporting some chunky wire builds. Another big’un.

- Taifun GX - is an RDTA (not to be confused with the Taifun GT, which is an RTA) features a quad terminal deck that can be removed from the lower tank for ease of building. Airflow is adjustable with fiddly inserts that have to each be purchased separately if you wish to tighten the draw, called air disks. Air is directed from beneath the coil at an angle. Two steel braids drive juice to the cotton. It is available in a 4mL and 2mL configuration. The Taifun topcap with the cooling fins is iconic, but for those who prefer otherwise, alternate topcaps are available. Thanks @ripe_plantain for the corrections on this one.

-— OTHER EXTRA CAPILLARY SYSTEMS —-

- Aspire Kumo - Unobtanium - This device does not employ any steel cabling or mesh to carry juice to the cotton. Instead it uses physics. And sorcery. Straight up magic. Wicking sits atop an interior tube that runs up the length of the 3.5mL tank exploding into the shape of a petal just beneath the build deck. Pressure between the tank and the tube are all that’s needed to keep the cotton saturated. Fascinating. Build deck is a two post design suitable for a single coil. Adjustable side airflow hits the coil from the front and two AFC ring styles are included.

- Steampipes Cabeo RDTA - Unobtanium - Developed by the same company Aspire tapped for the tech that makes the Kumo work its magic. The tank and tube system is similar, but with even cleaner aesthetics. And the airflow system is far more interesting with the air intake at the very top of the topcap and redirected through a peek insert that diverts the air to the front and back of the coil. Available in a MTL version/insert kit, as well. If my vape fairy godmother ever shows back up again and offers up one or the other - between this and the Kumo this is the one I’d pick. Thanks to @Toleot on Reddit and @Daniel_Forsyth on ECF for bringing these to my attention.

——— WHAT ABOUT MY OLD RDTAS? ——-

So the Paramour SBS arrived today, July 10, 2025 and the Hellheim S isn’t going to be here for another couple of days. So what’s an impatient vaper to do? Wait? F - no!

The impatient vaper digs through his old stash and pulls out five of his old RDTAs. He looks them over. He sizes them up. He settles on the old Geekvape Avocado.

The impatient vaper rolls up some steel mesh and ploops it down into the wick holes.

The impatient vaper - patiently and with great care - centers a triple fused clappy over the airflow and pulls a strand of shoelace cotton through the coil. He wicks with great care to only let the cotton just touch the tip of the mesh.

The impatient vaper can wait no longer. He snaps the topcap into place and he vapes.

The impatient vaper is contented. And yet… the impatient vaper wonders what other RDTAs will be up to this task and which will work well.

- Geekvape Avocado 24 - when I think back to the quintessential RDTA circa 2016 time, this is the first one that comes to mind. A velocity style deck sits atop a 3mL tank. With a deck like this possibilities abound - it can be built single coil or dual coil (can shove even more coils in there if you like!). Nice thing about Geekvape devices from this period - they typically come with a reducer of sorts where one side of the deck can be plugged with a silicone insert and the bottom airflow redirected to the back of the coil. This is how I chose to set this one up for the purpose of testing it with steel mesh. This way I could pull the silicone insert when I wanted to refill it. The only way to refill the avocado is through the wicking holes, so if both sides were plugged with mesh filling it with juice would have proven difficult. The mesh makes this early top coiler perform better than it ever has previously. The vape is saturated such that every pull is like the first after dripping straight down the drip tip. It is phenomenal.

… more to come in this section hopefully soon. Please feel free to drop a line in the comments with any you may have tried yourself or any that may be good candidates for such research.

————————— DEJA VU ————————

Gather around you cloud chasing nubbins and let uncle yoshi.poshi learn you something. Back in my day…

Okay enough of that. I started vaping about 15 years ago and started building about 2 or 3 years in. Around then it was the tail end of when Genesis Atomizers, as they were called, were a thing. So I didn’t see much of them beyond the one Genny clone (that’s what the cool kids called them, Gennies) - the one clone I bought on Fasttech. Fasttech is what we used to use instead of 3fVape or 2FDeal or whatever China Direct shops are still shipping. It was so long ago I don’t even remember what this device I got was supposed to be a clone of to be honest with you.

Anyway, genny style tanks were built without any cotton. You would take a roll of stainless steel mesh and wrap kanthal wire around it, drop the mesh down into your tank so it stood up straight, and anchor a lead from the top and bottom of your kanthal wrap into your positive and negative post. Positive post was a post and the negative was a screw in the deck. And the wraps would be spaced, too. This was not a cloud chucking style build or anything mind you. Still if you got a dry hit, you remembered it. When I got my first dry hit off one that’s when I quickly forgot about gennies and never looked back. It hurt. It hurt a lot.

Fast forward to 2016 or so. Vaping is experiencing a bit of a renaissance. Vape shops are full of life. New RDAs and Tanks and Mods are coming out every week. The Velocity style deck is really popular. And RDTAs start to come out in a big way. But we’re all just clipping our cotton really long and shoving the ends of our cotton danglers down deep into our tanks. We have to dip and turn and do somersaults to make sure we’re tilting our mods back when we take a pull to keep the juice flowing to our coils. It works, but honestly it isn’t great. Juice flow is the main issue - it’s hard to keep the coil saturated with the distance that juice has to flow up the cotton. Flavor really isn’t as good as an RDA, juice in the tank is mixing with torched juice runoff from the coil, drop your mod and your glass is busted. It’s more convenient than dripping, but there are compromises.

And IMO squonking had far fewer compromises. But that’s a whole other topic.

———————- SQUONKING ———————-

So why not a squonker?

Who said that?

Crickets.

I love a squonker. Squonkers are great! Carry around 8 or 10 or more milliliters of juice, your favorite atty and an all day battery - I really like a 21700 for these. All in a single device. And overall I’ve been very happy with this for years. But here too there are compromises.

Squonkers are just as messy. They leak. Your atty still leaks. The bottle goes bad and it leaks. Juice ends up in your pocket, on your shirt. Juice ends up all over your battery, the door of the mod, all over the board. Have lost a lot of mods that way. Juice gets to the board and eventually it just craps out. And after all that the flavor is not even the same anyway.

The flavor isn’t the same!? What?! That’s -

That’s exactly right. The flavor isn’t the same. There, I said it. Stop clutching your pearls and looking at me like I just kicked your dog. If the squonk vaper is honest with oneself he/she/they/them knows that there is a difference in the flavor of the juice fed up from the squonk bottle vs the flavor dripped over the cotton and coil directly. And it isn’t subtle. It is like two different juices after a while.

The thing about squonking is that you think you’re just feeding the cotton with juice but in reality you’re also feeding the scorched and heated and boiled over juice back into the squonk bottle where it is mixing and mingling and muddying the flavors of your juice in the rubber bottle. Squonking is a two way street. Excess juice is funneled back out of the RDA’s juice reservoir when you stop squeezing the bottle and you hear that quintessential s q u o n k sound. That’s how it got its name, you know.

It’s not a deal breaker. It’s a feature. Without that we wouldn’t call it squonking, we’d just call it leaking. Just leaking. All the time.

It’s backwash plain and simple. Like sharing a bottle of soda with someone who doesn’t know how to take a sip without letting some slip back before they pass the bottle back. The flavor of the soda doesn’t lie. They backwashed!

It’s a compromise is what it is.

Don’t believe me? You love that squonker in your hand right now so much. Take a good long thoughtful pull on it. Let it out. It’s pretty good. Take another. Good? Might could use a cotton change. But it’s all right. And I’m sure it is. Now vape on a bit - just until you think you need another good squeeze, but instead drip a few drops of your juice from the needle tip (used to be dropper bottles were a thing) straight through the top cap. Take a pull.

What the heck was that?

Pretty good huh? That’s what your juice is supposed to taste like, bud! Wild right?

And so we circle back round again to the age old dilemma…

——— I WANT A VAPE LIKE AN RDA ——-

… but not like an RDA.

IMO the most enjoyable vape I have ever found has always been out of a single coil RDA with an exotic build. An Alien. An SFC. A staple variant. A braid. But I’ll rock a plain old Fused Clapton coil any day of the week and be completely happy. But there are compromises to everything. With an RDA there is mess. There is having to drip every few pulls. But there’s also the best and most pure possible flavor you can get from your juice. If I’m sampling a bunch of juices nothing is better. And I’m not in to DIY (mainly because I’m clumsy, disorganized, and have a lot of pets) but if I was I would be testing my recipes with an RDA constantly. I was in a thread the other day and this one guy was waxing poetic about zen and the meditative quality of carrying around an RDA and a bottle of juice with him every day and taking time out just to drip. Sort of a mindfulness activity. Beautiful really. We all could benefit from taking a little time out just to drip. But you know what else he has with him on his desk? An RDTA or a squonker, depending on his mood that day.

————— SO BACK TO DEJA VU —————

So stainless steel mesh. It was here. We got rid of it. Now it’s back. What gives? And why steel cable?

It’s like walking around with steel girders in your juice tank. The thing about steel cabling is that it’s made to flex. It does this because it has a bunch of thinner strands of cable all braided together. These braids create gaps and it’s why the steel can move. There’s a reason they use this stuff to hold up bridges. These gaps also act as capillaries, creating a capillary bridge so to speak between the juice and the cotton.

And yet it is completely disconnected from cotton wicking but for the very tip, just resting atop the steel. Any more than that and you dam up the juice. The cotton just needs to rest on top of the cable. Nothing more.

The cabling or mesh only feeds the cotton with what it needs. There is little to no excess juice left over on the deck to be boiled over. Nothing remains to feed back down to the tank.

Mess is reduced to basically no mess at all. The only time fresh juice comes in to play is when the tank needs to be filled again. There isn’t enough juice left over on the deck to leak out the airflow.

There is no discernible difference between the flavor of the juice fed up the cable vs dripped down through the drip tip. It may be more saturated if you drop a few drops down the drip tip, sure. But only for the first or second pull.

Since I’ve rediscovered RDTAs and combined them with mesh my squonker and RDA have been sitting idle and I’ve had a much more convenient, much less messy, far more flavorful time of things.

Vape on Vapers

~ yoshi.poshi

TLDR: As of July 2025 there are roughly 11 standard sized (22mm-25mm) top coilers that employ braided steel cable or mesh (mostly if not all steel cable, actually at present) to feed cotton wicked coils. Which is essentially an old tech that has since been revived. But I hypothesize a number of other RDTAs that just use cotton danglers can be adapted to benefit from the same tech. I argue that this technology allows for the least compromise in achieving a vape comparable to an RDA without the inconvenience of dripping all day. Yes, even better than squonking.

For Sale Super T P10

I don’t know what happened to the “for trade” option here but apparently it’s either gone or I just can’t figure it out.

I’d rather trade my P10 for something else Super T or a GG Stealth.

Since I haven’t been on here for years I also have no idea what mech mods go for now or if people are even still using them (I just stated using my Caravela again).

Anyhow, let me know if you have anything good to trade (that goes for all my posts).

Otherwise $100 for the P10 with original Super T drip tip.

Sweet Tobacco by Kings Crest - Review by Ben28

Sweet Tobaco by Kings Crest
WhatsApp Image 2025-07-08 at 23.18.36.jpg
Sweet Tobacco by Kings Crest, is the liquid I bring you today after 10 days of maturation. Thanks to Vapeo24 for making these reviews possible, you can visit their website and learn more about the product.

According to the manufacturer; From the first puff you will notice how the soft and lightly toasted tobacco becomes the perfect base on which a sweet, dense and almost pasty vanilla rests, evoking sensations typical of a homemade flan or some custard with biscuits. The balance between both ingredients is so well worked that neither the vanilla overwhelms, nor the tobacco is lost: they simply blend to offer a round, full-bodied experience with a sweet finish that remains on the palate.

Remember that this is a 30mL aroma that must be mixed with VG and PG base in addition to the amount of nicotine to taste. After that, it must be left to macerate for the days recommended by the manufacturer, if not more.

In the olfactory test, a very powerful smell that floods the nose is that of tobacco, it is clearly the predominant and base ingredient in this liquid. It is accompanied by a sweetness that reminds, as the manufacturer indicates, of vanilla custards. I must say that I notice a slight aroma of alcohol, very, very deep down but it is present. In smell at least, the layers that give the flavor to this liquid are wonderfully distinguished.

Before starting with the vaping test, I must say that this liquid has been tested both in the new Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 and in an electronic mod with RDA, the former being the one that has provided the best sensations and flavor. After practically finishing more than half of the bottle, I can give my conclusions with certainty. First of all, the predominant flavor here is tobacco, as expected from the olfactory test. It is a very, very soft tobacco, a flavor that almost everyone would like (and even more if you like tobacco flavors). However, it is not the typical dry tobacco, mixed with nuts or fruits, but it is a very, let's say "pasty" tobacco, very creamy, thanks to the vanilla and that cream. I cannot distinguish the vanilla as such, although I do distinguish the sweetness of the cream itself, which perfectly accompanies the tobacco.

In short, this is a smooth liquid, although with good flavor power, that you can be vaping all day without getting tired. It is not a liquid that after a few puffs you end up tired of it, it is a liquid that once you start it you finish it, it becomes very pleasant to vape throughout the day. Definitely, a good job by Kings Crest.

Inawera Flavors Reviewed by SessionDrummer (Finally !!!!)

8d4de874edcd8cb1e4e38fed2172b6a74edd7838.jpeg

I know, I know. I know what you're thinking. How is it POSSIBLE, that I haven't officially reviewed any Inawera flavors ?? Hehe, I asked myself the same question, as I have been using many of them almost daily. Great news is, I finally got around to testing some of them. I was hesitant, because most of these have been around and used for years, but I was reminded that not everyone knows about them, especially newer mixers, and even veteran mixers, so I decided to test and share them.

A few of these I have been using for years, but the rest are new to me, so breaking NEW ground here. I finalized on testing these at three weights (0.75%, 1.5%, and 2.0%) depending on the flavor.

Testing as always on the SteamCrave RDTA v.1 running dual vertical 24 ga. Kanthal coils, and fresh Koh Gen Do cotton before every test. All mixed in a 70v/30p/3mg carrier base, and steeped for 2 weeks (because of the Custard !!!!). At tested at 65 watts. Stay tuned as these were just mixed up, and are now waiting for the testing.........

**Cappuccino (INW) 2.0% (6-23-25)** -- I'm actually surprised I haven't solo'd this one until now. The main 3 notes I got were espresso, cream/milk, and cocoa. I played with this for quite a while, and I kept coming back to those 3 main profiles. No coffee, or milk chocolate, but espresso, and a pretty good cocoa. The cream/milk was harder to directly identify, but the semi creamy mouthfeel made it evident. At 2% it was perfectly strong, and I didn't want to increase it at all. Sweetness was just at, or slightly above mid-level, so it leaned on the sweeter side.

I'm surprised there aren't more substantial reviews for this one, because you could easily use it solo as a one shot. At times I got an almost caramel sticky-ness to it, others not so I don't think I'd qualify that as a true caramel profile. About my only want, would be a smidge more espresso, but even as it stood, the main 3 notes were very evenly matched, and fairly equal. No off-notes, and pretty damned good solo. Too hard to put down, and/or mark down. Leaving this high at a **9.4/10**. If you like a great cappa you may want to get this one.

**Custard (INW) 2.0% (6-24-25)** -- I still can't believe it took me THIS long, to FINALLY solo this flavor, as I've been mixing with it forever. There are obvious similarities between it and CAP VC1, but this one not only steeps FAR faster, but isn't quite as rich, or overpowering, depending on your tastes. Beyond the rapid steep, probably the second most interesting aspect, is it smells far "egg heavy", that it presents when tasting it. TBH, I don't know it's DAAP status, but had read it was DIK free, and if true, is even more impressive.

It fell squarely in the egg-ish custard camp, with some nice brighter vanilla notes on the finish. Rich, but not thick, some light egg, but not overpowering. Another interesting aspect, is it was very solid at 2%, vs. CAP's which you would have to mix quite a bit higher to get the same saturation levels. Sweetness was just below mid-level, and I tried to, but failed to find any nit-picks. All in, a very good alternative to CAP's VC1, with a much lower usage, lighter egg component, and far faster steep times. Very hard to knock it down with all of that going for it. Easily a **9.8/10**.

**Flue Cured (INW) 1.5% (6-27-25)** -- While still not really being a bacco or NET'er, I reluctantly review, yet another tobacco. Realizing the Flue Curing uses heat to cure the tobacco, I didn't get any truly dark, smoky, or burnt notes from this one. I got far more mid-dark notes, along with a very healthy dose of "raw" notes. Now being a non-bacco'er, that's my term for a natural, unbaked taste/flavor. It presented as pretty natural tasting, with an almost honey like quality to the finish. While the mid-dark notes were very good, they weren't heavy, so it had about a mid-strength tobacco saturation overall. It leaned to the sweeter side, but not as high as your typical RY4. At 1.5% it was at a good strength, and could maybe be pushed 0.5% if needed. I struggled to try and better define the "raw" or "natural" notes, with maybe a touch of grassy-ness. After the finish the natural/raw notes lingered which was nice, and added authenticity. Again, as a non-bacco guy, I'd leave this one as a mid-strong, mid-dark tobacco with a great natural/raw overtone, sweetened, with a honey like finish. With no complaints or off-notes, leaving it fairly high at a **9.5/10**.

**Lime (INW) 0.75%/1.5%/2.0% (6-28-25)** -- Out of caution, I started this one low at 0.75%, and it clearly needed more. It presented as a fairly candied lime, or better, a lime syrup. Bumping it to 1.5% it started to better take shape, as more of a full-er lime, but still with some syrupy aspects. I pushed it higher to 2.0%, and did indeed start to get some telltale ceiling limit "Lysol" overtones, so I'm going to stick this one at a 1.5% for SFT. At this weight, it never presented fully as a 100 natural lime, as it still had some syrupy/candy nuances to it. I had thought maybe it had been borked during the reformulations, but it appeared not to be.

At 1.5% it did present as a good juicy lime, with some very realistic rind notes on the finish, and was about as strong as I could push it before the "lysol cleaner" effect at 2.0%+. Sweetness was somewhat below mid-level, which also left it "sweetened", without being "sweet". A very good, natural tasting lime, and my only complaint would be the light, but still persistent candy/syrup nuances. I finally decided to leave it still high at a **8.9/10**.

Inawera Reformulation Reference: Here .....

**Peach (INW) 1.5% (6-29-25)** -- Right out of the gate, you could tell this one was a Yellow Peach. It was interesting, because it wasn't very bright or punchy, but seemed centered more around the mid-dark notes, with some darker ones thrown in. The FIRST thing that came to mind was a "mixer peach", or "baser peach", as it seemed like it could cover a LOT of the middle notes, but would need some brighter, punchier help. I did get some "skin" in there, so that helped add to it's authenticity. At 1.5% it was about 6.5/10 on the strength scale, but that could have been perceptional due to the lack of brighter notes. Sweetness was just below mid-level, and not overt off-notes to complain about, with the exception of a somewhat dryness on the finish. It wasn't candied, or syrup'd, and while missing the brighter notes, did lean heavily towards a natural peach. All in, this would work in any mix where you needed a good yellow peach, but, it would need some assistance, to fill in, and round out the entire peach. An ok peach solo, but an even BETTER peach base building. Leaving this one at a **7.0/10**.

**Pear (INW) 1.5% (6-29-25)** -- Man, this one smelled G-O-O-D in the bottle, and SOME of that translated when testing it. Either I'm partially (or completely) Pear Blind, or it's just hard to make a good pear flavor. I mean, this one for starters, had some pear aspects to it, and it was very juicy, and could VERY easily be used in any pear mix, I just didn't get the overwhelming sense of "Pear", such that it could be the driver in any mix. FA's Pear is my current go to, and while better than this one, it wasn't even fully "there" enough for my tastes.

At 1.5% it was full, but felt it could use some more presence overall. There WAS a nice almost grainy-ness to it, which COULD be similar to the "sugar sand" effect you got when eating a real one. At times, I almost got more of a green center, with pear skin notes from it. No off-notes or anything out of place, but again, as the main driver in a pear mix, I think it would be best paired with at least FA's Pear for better results. Please test it yourself, and let me know if I'm just "Pear Blind" or not LOL. Pear-ish, nice soft grainy (almost) texture, very juicy, and tasty. Leaving this one similarly placed to the INW Peach as a substantial mixer/baser, and at a **7.0/10**.

**Raspberry (Malina) (INW) 0.75% / 1.5% (6-29-25)** -- This has been one of my all time favorite Raspberries for years, and was only topped (on my shelves) by the fabled Medicine Flower Wild Raspberry. This flavor smells much stronger in the bottle than it is after a steep. Still strong, but not as strong as many people think. I actually cut it in half down to 0.75% just to see how it fared, then back up to 1.5%. There's a reason why it's been in 44,666 recipes on ELR !!!! For the uninitiated, there are (for the most part) 3 Inawera lines. The regular (like this flavor), WG (Wera Garden) - Pro Series, and Shisha - Blends, can be used solo (per INW). Malina just means Raspberry in Polish.

This presents as a very rich, somewhat dark, accurate and natural Raspberry. There are some very light candy notes, but overall, it's a full on, seeds included Raspberry. It can EASILY handle all of the RB freight in mixes, but pairs rather magically with TPA Sweet Raspberry. At 1.5% it was damned delicious, and about a 8.75/10 on the strength scale. Slightly tart, nicely sweetened, and full bodied. It is a very distrinctive flavor, and most times you can tell when it's been used. Unless you used it much too high, there are no florals. Deep, rich, somewhat dark, but accurate and natural, with just a hint of tart are my main take-aways on this one, and no, hehe, I had no complaints, off-notes, or issues. Because I rated MF's Wild Raspberry at a 10/10, I left this one JUST below the "Release the Kraken" at a very respectable **9.9/10**. Your tastes may vary, but this one IS a Raspberry Powerhouse.

**Shisha Apple (INW) 1.5% / 2.5% (7-3-25)** -- First Shisha for this nearing July 4th weekend !!!! I started this one out at 1.5%, but it tasted somewhat weak, so I moved it up to 2.5% which although higher for some INW's, seemed to work better. If Shisha's truly were "blends", then this one fit the bill. It was clearly a mashup, of a Red Delicious Apple, but with Granny Smith undertones. These two main notes were easier to smell in the bottle, than testing, but were always there. The Red Apple notes were very authentic, and juicy, and there was some nice "skin" in there too boot. The "green", or Granny Smith notes were a little lower in the mix, and seemed to add just more of a tart, slightly sour punch to the overall flavor. It stayed fairly in the Red Apple camp throughout the test, so I'm calling that the dominant note. At 1.5% it was weaker, which surprised me for an INW flavor, and at 2.5% it took on much better shape, fuller, with more nuances/notes present, that were not, at the lower weight. Sweetness was below mid-level, and I think that added to the fresh(er) taste of it.

Fairly natural, very good lower sweetness levels, that was primarily a Red Delicious Apple, with some green Granny Smith notes tossed in. Depending on which one of the two (or both) that you need/ed, this might or might not work out in your mixes. Not baked, cooked, or caramelized. It was an interesting pairing with the juicy, smooth, sweetness of a Red, tempered with the tarty, slightly sour Green. I don't apple much, but this one is/was a keeper, and leaving it high at a **9.0/10**, with no off-notes, and my only "complaint" would be the somewhat "relaxed" saturation. Although, increasing the weight did help out somewhat in that regard.

**Shisha Mango (INW) 1.5% (7-4-25)** -- Happy J4th, and let's hit this Shisha Mango in celebration. For reference, my current "go-to" Mango, is hands down, FE/SC's Mango. This flavor had TWO real components. The initial on-rush and middle, and the finish. The initial on-rush was a bright, punchy, orange-ish Mango-ish flavor. Pretty impressive, but somewhat vague. Mango-ish, but not truly Mango. The finish however shifted into more of a green-ish, mango skin which had a peculiar dry-ness, sometimes slightly "plastic-y" overtone. I mean, we're not talking "shower curtains" here, and it was light, but always present, on the finish. At 1.5% it was rich, and full, and sweetness was just below mid-level.

It wasn't a terrible Mango, and the more I tested, the more I felt it would be much better as a mixer, than the top/driving note. The finish is was pulled it sideways, not the initial, or middle notes. Orange, juicy, punchy, and mango-ish was really the closest I could come to describing it. TBH, even WITH the slightly dry, skewed finish note, I did actually like the "green-ness" it added to the mix, and some skin. It was pretty unique in so far as your typical Mango flavor, but I always came back to thinking it would need to be paired with another Mango or two to work best. Off-notes as noted above, the green, slightly dry, sometimes plastic-y finish. Overall, I did like it, and the green hint on the finish kept it very unique. I struggled a bit to lock in the knock down in the ratings for just the finish, and I finally decided on a **8.0/10**.

**Shisha Raspberry (INW) 1.5%/2.5% (7-5-25)** -- Because I finally solo'd the INW RB Malina recently, I'll be able to directly compare/contrast the two. I started this one @ 1.5%, but clearly it was weaker than the Malina, so I pushed it up to 2.5%, and it was quite a bit better. This one had SOME of the Malina in it, but I'm going to say only about 25%, the remaining 75% seemed centered around an almost smooth Raspberry Candy. Personally, I love the Malina, and find it bright, punchy, and full, so for my tastes, this one's softer candied main note had less impact and saturation comparatively. For some who find the Malina too aggressive, this one might be a better choice. Not near as aggressive, and with fewer brighter, punchy notes. It really did seem more centered around a smoother, candied RB, along with some lighter jammed notes. It still had some punch to it, but the candied center, kept them in check.

At 1.5% (my final testing weight for the Malina), it was present, but tasted light and lacking, and bumping to 2.5% worked much better. Sweetness was about a tick above mid-level, and with the candy, and slight jammy notes, it worked. Because I personally never got any florals from the Malina, it was no surprise, I got none here either. A good flavor, and will work in a lot of places, just without the punch, and impact of the Malina. As always, YOUR tastes will decide which is better for you. I did rate this one below the Malina, but again, that's personal taste. No off-notes, or complaints, and finally decided to leave it at a **8.85/10**.

**Tiramisu (INW) 1%/2% (7-5-25)** -- I started this one at 1%, but clearly it was a weaker flavor, and I doubled it to 2%, and then it started to take shape much better. I probably could have went even higher. While def. one of the weaker INW flavors, it was good right out of the gate. I picked up on 4 major notes including: Coffee w./ light espresso, Cocoa, Cream, and a good vanilla cake element. That's it in a nutshell. On the front end, the coffee leaned fairly heavily to coffee, with light hints of espresso, and it was not as strong as most other Tiras I've tested, and honestly, I would have liked more, and more of the epsresso than coffee. The cream and cake were fairly well balanced, and worked good together to smooth and richen the overall profile. I struggled for a bit trying to decide if the chocolate was a choco, or a cocoa, but I finally determined it was a cocoa. As stated, at 1% it was not very full, and doubling to 2% fixed that up, and I suspect I could have easily gone to 3% or higher, as this was just not as strong as many of my other INW flavors. Not bad, just something to keep in mind.

No off-notes or complaints, other than the weaker than expected coffee/espresso notes, which were quite good and convincing. The cocoa was just present enough to reveal itself, but in no way overpowering. The cream(s) were fairly present, and did give it a smooth overall taste/feel. The vanilla cake element was a surprise, and I don't remember trying another Tira with as good of a cake element. It was a few ticks below mid-level sweet, which is always welcomed. About my only fix would be to boost up the coffee/epresso notes, and I would lean more towards the espresso, and with a little acidity, to help it punch through just a bit more. All in, it was tasty, just needed a little caffinated punch. I finalized it at a **9.0/10** with the only markdowns for the softer coffee/espresso elements.

**Two Apples (INW) 1.5%/2.5% (7-6-25)** -- What an INTERESTING flavor to test. I had assumed it would be a simple Red Delicious, Green Apple pairing, but it was actually quite a bit different than that. I stated this one lower at 1.5% and it tasted like a muted Red Apple, BUT, when I doubled it, it came alive !!! NOW, I had all kinds of nuances and notes that were totally missing at the lower weight. The main two notes were a Red Delicious, and a Golden Delicious. Sprinkled in, were hints of Green Apple, some light Apple Cider, AND (as if those weren't enough), at times I got a light Candied Apple note. Wow, wow, wow. Smelling it on the bottle wasn't very close, as it smelled more like a Granny Smith.

I'm not sure if I've had a flavor change as much as this one did by doubling. You might be able to take it up to 3%, but 2.5% seemed very good. Plenty of skin, juiciness, and tart. Sweetness was a few ticks below mid-level, and the complexity of this one could not be ovestated. A very natural, and perky flavor with just enough bite. It some Fuji-like overtones, but it stayed squarely in the Red, and Golden camp throughout. Not baked, jammed, or candied. I could see tons of uses for this one, where a natural, juicy apple was required. 3 testers later, I couldn't not find anything to complain about, despite looking. All in, a very complex, layered apple combo, that centered around Red, and Golden apples, with nice cider, skin, and slight candied apple undertones that kept you guessing. Hard to nit-pick this one. Not the strongest, so don't be afraid to boost it up a bit, because THEN, it opens up !!!! Handily a **9.9/10**. Just almost perfect. Maybe it should have been called "Two Apples, and THEN some .....".

**White Grapefruit (INW) 0.75%/1.5% (7-7-25)** -- This is the flavor that I set out to buy for a client project, which expanded into picking up all of these flavors in this review series. I started this one out at 0.75%, which presented as fair, with mostly zest, so I doubled it to 1.5%, and it improved. This one smelled hyper accurate in the bottle, and a LOT of that transferred while testing, but not all. In a nutshell, it was very clean, accurate, and tasty, but I was getting mostly low(er) end notes, and zest, even at the higher percentage. A lot of the fruit "body" notes seemed to be missing. Even with that, it was still, a very realistic grapefruit. It was "sweetened", but I def. would not call it a "sweet" flavor. It was a fair amount below mid-level sweet.

No off-notes per se, but it did have an odd, almost "cotton-ball" like finish, which I know sounds odd, but that was the first thought that popped into mind. I would have preferred some more (or any LOL) of the juicy, fleshy body notes, which would be about my only complaint. Clearly making a GF flavor isn't easy, or there'd be a lot more of them, and with that in mind, I'd still rec this one, as there aren't many "even close" ones out there. Very natural, not as tart as I would have liked to help sell it better, and great zest notes. It felt good at an **8.75/10**, and I still recommend buying it, if you need a good grapefruit.
