My vape mod is at least 7 or 8 years old now and it doesn't seem to be functioning right anymore (like randomly shutting off when I didn't shut it off). I am considering replacing it with the Aegis Solo 3, (external battery only, NOT built-in). I will never buy a mod with a built-in battery. I can't find a straight forward answer anywhere about what battery is safe to use in it. All I find is "use a 18650" which I already know. I find nothing about the mAh. Can anyone tell me what mAh is safe to use in the Aegis Solo 3 external battery vape mod?

I didn't go down the SQuape rabbit hole, but I did travel with Dicodes, who made some beautiful and amazing devices. I had others too, but these are the ones that I held onto. The tube is one that takes a beating well, and the two Minis are simply too pretty & pristine to have ever seen light in a classified ad.

For me, at least, and I suspect for others too, it's another very sad day.

I have been out of the market for a while on box's and just general Ecig stuff etc. My favorite commercial ones are the Innokin Ajax MVP 4 and the Innokin Adept. but they dont sell the MVP series anymore loved the flashlight on it and how long the battery lasted. but alas the MVP's were not water proof and mine died I love the Adept because its water proof but the battery isnt great.
so in a perfect world on my new one I would have:

- a flashlight
- water proof
- long lasting battery

Is there anything out there - private or commercial that is about the same size as the MVP ?

Hello and welcome back for another review. This time I’m here to cover the Innokin Foretex Pod kit that was sent to me by Innokin in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The Foretex is a nice, lightweight pod that performs well using an internal 2000mah battery that is advertised to last seven days but just like any other device, that is dependent upon how much it is used each day. The kit comes with one .8 ohm Foretex pod cartridge that has a liquid capacity of 3.5ml which is the largest I have seen in a pod device of this size. Besides the included .8 ohm cartridge, there are also .4 and .6 ohm cartridges available for purchase separately.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The Foretex is a simplistic but well performing pod device. I have to admit that I was a little surprised to once again see that Innokin has packaged this device in a sealed foil bag rather than the recyclable material that they had been using for quite some time. The packaging for the Foretex has a nice enough appearance. It is a skinny box with a white background and a nice color picture of the Foretex contained inside. I received the Sky Blue version for this review. The back side of the box has the usual contents list, warning, and company information.

The box opens from the end and inside is found the Foretex device in a sealed foil bag with the single .8 ohm pod pre-installed. The only other things included with this kit are a user manual and warranty card. There is not a charging cable included but honestly at this point in time, who doesn’t have a USB-C charging cable? Innokin was nice enough to include a spare box of .6 and .8 ohm pods. Each box contains three pods in plastic foil backed packs. There is also supposed to be a .4 ohm pod available for the Foretex but I did not receive any for my review.

The front has the Foretex name on it and a single circular battery level indicator. The indicator has a white color when above 30%, blue when 10-30%, and red below 10%. The Foretex is an auto draw only device and has no fire button, display, or menu operation.

The back side of the Foretex has the Innokin name and a sliding airflow control that can be adjusted from a fairly tight MTL to a restricted RDL. The Foretex is a somewhat smart device and auto adjusts depending on the coil resistance. The .8 ohm coil causes it to run at 14-17 watts, the .6 ohm runs 20-25 watts, and the .4 runs at a full 33 watts which is the full rated output of the Foretex.

In the fourth and fifth pictures below, you can see that the USB-C charging port is located on one side of the Foretex. Also visible is the fact that the pods are side fill with one bonus. The entire fill port plug extends above the body of the Foretex so that the pod can be filled without removing the pod from the Foretex. Definitely a plus in my book. The entire body of the Foretex is made of aluminum alloy which provides good durability without being too heavy. Although it is a minimalistic device, it has a look and performance of a premium device.

The mod functions properly and the overall body/frame is in good condition. Light fading/scuffs on the bottom part that rests on the table when not in use and a couple minor scuffs/dings elsewhere. These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not genuine and in the original plastic wrap from a known and trusted manufacturer can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” batteries or ones from smaller manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C to help lower the risks and extend cell life, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
This is of the top performing 18650 power cells we can buy.

• These are probably full production cells since they have CCC*** certification.
• The JP30P1 runs cool for its 36A true continuous current rating, which is great for cycle life.
• Its 56A temp-limited (to 80°C) rating seems reasonable.
• The datasheet lists a 140A pulse rating (5sec max). While this cell (and several others) can be run at this extreme power level it will shorten the life of the cell.
• There was no noticeable performance difference between these and the earlier LT 19660A rewraps of this cell.
• The JP30P1 performs essentially the same as the EVE 30PL with the Molicel P30B a touch under those two. I recommend testing all three in your particular application if every last bit of performance is critical, especially if in lower temps since the P30B does well there.
• The two cells I tested delivered 3015mAh and 3040mAh. This isn’t terrible consistency but I’d prefer to see a smaller difference. It’s a little above their 3000mAh typical rating so I am rating them at 3000mAh.
• Standard charge rate is 1.5A with a max of 14.5A. I recommend staying at 2A or lower for long cell life. Charging at high current levels, especially up towards 14.5A, will shorten cell life.
• Datasheet max weight = 50.0g. The two cells I had averaged 48.25g.
• Datasheet max size = 18.56mm dia x 65.23mm long. The two cells I had averaged 18.18mm x 64.95mm.
• The cells I tested appear to have been made on Sept 1, 2025.
• WARNING: I recommend welding to the bottom of these cells only near the center of the cell. Avoid the three arc lines near the outer rim as those are the weld lines for the internal connection of the bottom of the “jellyroll” to the metal can.

I just started vaping again after years dedication to analogs.

Anyone know what else is Similar or even better if possible to Creamy Tabacco 20mg pod with a Vuse Pro pen?

I might buy try the bigger vuse ultra device , but I like prefer the pens that I can hold in my mouth , dangle in mouth effortlessly. Especially useful while on keyboard.

Also read that using Vuse ULTRA pods with a vuse Reload, McClaren or a Vuse Ultra Device made the taste of the Ultra Pods perhaps a little more tabaco and less vanilla.

Nevertheless with so many settings and adaptability present in the VUSE Ultra Device. I’m sure I can get it to the perfect flavour and strength and perhaps even better than I currently experience on the Pen, but Id be really upset if the Ultra Device ends up spoiling the flavour and taste of the ULTRA Pod I experience and get, as used on the Pen. And in my experience with things, is that it might do. Plus the dangling from mouth thing would be gone. But I will still give that a try. 100% I will.

Reason why I like Vuse Creamy Tabacco Ultra pods is 50% the Ultra Pod itself, and 50% the fact I use the Utra pod in a Pen , Flavour and Feel is closest to divine I have experienced. I Tried other types of Creamy Tabacco 20mg (Classic, Intense) with the Pen, but they were more tobacco than vanilla. With the Ultra version of Creamy Tabacco 20mg and the Basic Pen. Its perfect for me. Or as close to as I can experience.

I'm just asking for any suggestions from experienced vapers for on What Device (any other brand) , and what ELiquid or Cartridge , is Closest to the feel taste and sensation of a/the 20mg Vuse Creamy Tabacco Ultra Pod + The simple VUSE pen?
