Innokin ArcFire 3 mL 650 mAh Open Pod Kit | Reviews by Z-Lee

Innokin ArcFire

Innokin-ArcFire-Site-Banner.jpg

Hello ECF! Innokin has sent me their newest pod kit, the ArcFire, for review. There's a lot that you can expect from this pod device being that Innokin has always been a quality name brand for vape gear. You may or may not be familiar with the Innokin Klypse or Klypse Zip, but they've won several prizes for best new pod and other such awards. They may not always have the flashiest designs, but the quality you can be sure of, and that is what I'd recommend you invest in most when it comes to vape gear - quality and dependability. In this review, we'll see if the Innokin ArcFire continues to hold this tradition.

Before we begin, I want to give a bit shout out to @Innokin_timmy for reaching out and coordinating the shipment of the ArcFire. As a reviewer, this critique will be conducted in a fair and honest manner. Any and all opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Alright, let's check it out!

- TESTING RESULTS & OBSERVATIONS -

Intro:

Innokin-ArcFire-Pod-Intro.jpg

So, right off the bat, you can see that this kit is very bare bone. You get the 650 mAh pod mod/battery, a single 3 mL ArcFire refillable pod (1.2Ω), a USB Type-C charging cable, a quick guide, and a warning booklet. We've seen this quite a bit recently, where the kit comes with just enough to vape pretty much out of the box (with the exception of your own vape juice), but not much else.

Pretty much the only pro to this is the cost reduction for the starter kit. Some people probably appreciate this, and I guess I can too if I already know what I like to vape resistance-wise. The downside to this is, if you happen to toast the only pod you have in the kit, you're SOL. With an auto-draw only type of device like the ArcFire, it helps in preventing you from accidentally firing the coil w/out juice in the tank, but that doesn't mean it can't happen by accidentally vaping the tank dry. In addition, if you're new or newer to vaping and are still exploring what you like in a vape device, there really aren't any options here. Many kits in the past have given you two different coils or pods of different resistances, so that you can try them both out and decide which you like better. In this kit especially, since I ended up liking the 0.8Ω coils much better than the 1.2Ω, it would have been nice to give you, the purchaser, a chance to try both of them out before deciding on buying a pack of refill pods. Furthermore, if you try the 1.2Ω coil pod and you sorta like it, but aren't sure - are you going to risk purchasing the 0.8Ω refill pods on the chance that they could be better, but they might also be worse? I suppose that's what reviews like this are for, so let's help you out with that.

The ArcFire Pod Mod/Battery:

Innokin-ArcFire-Pod-Look.jpg

The exterior body of the ArcFire is made of aluminum with a sandblasted finish. I think the overall aesthetic is pretty nice, and it has a nice, quality hand-feel. Plastic pod devices of this size always feel very flimsy and cheap to me, but the ArcFire does a very good job of distinguishing itself from that.

The front-facing side of the pod battery (top middle picture) is a slightly receded strip of shiny plastic that has an airflow inlet at the top, and just below it, a rounded-rectangular button exclusively used to turn the device on, off, and to check the status of the battery. As mentioned above, this device is activated with auto-draw, only. Near the bottom of this plastic strip are 3 LED lights that are lined up vertically, which are the battery indicator lights. One light means there's less than 15% battery left (definitely charge it if you're able). Two lights means there's between 15% and 65% battery left, and three lights means there's anywhere from 65% to 100% battery left. Personally, I'm a fan of a 4+ light indicator system, so that you have a little bit more of an idea of where your battery charge is currently sitting at. Leaving the house with anywhere between 100% and 65% is quite a difference, and I'd like to be able to tell that.

Innokin-ArcFire-Lights.jpg

To the left of the front-facing strip, ArcFire is engraved near the bottom, and to the right there's an INNOKIN engraving. I think these have been done pretty stylishly and it looks much better than a big ole painted logo or something of that nature.

On the top of the pod battery is where you'll pop the pod in. Near the center, you'll notice two gold-plated spring-loaded positive and negative pins (you won't need to worry about getting these backwards, the pod only goes in one way). In a triangular fashion, you'll notice 3 larger round buttons that are magnets to keep the pod in, and a smaller round button that looks to be a miniature pitot tube. Any aviation geeks here? The pitot tube serves as an air pressure gauge that activates when it detects negative pressure - that would be you taking a puff. One very good thing I see here is that the pitot tube is raised up from the base of the reservoir. This is particularly important if you were to end up with a leaking pod (which I've not experienced in either of the pods I've extensively tested) since juice is a huge culprit for causing auto-draw devices to malfunction. Auto-draw detectors placed at the bottom of this reservoir are known to get clogged up from juice rendering your device no longer useable - at least not reliably. Nicely done Innokin.

On the bottom of the pod mod, you'll find the USB-C charging port, as well as the battery size and total watt-hours. 1 watt-hour means if you were to drain the battery at 1W consistently, it would last for an hour. Being that this device fires at 10W with the 1.2Ω coil pod, and 14.5W with the 0.8Ω coil pod, you can divide 60 min. by 10W, (so 6 min. of fire time), multiplied by 2.4 to get total firing time with the 1.2Ω pod. Likewise, divide 60 min. by 14.5W (4.1 min.), and then multiply by 2.4 to get the total firing time with the 0.8Ω pod.
The Arcfire charges at 0.6A which isn't far off from the advertised 0.75A, and this product does support pass-through vaping for those that must vape while it's charging. In DJLsb Vapes' youtube review, he noted that the battery is actually a 700 mAh battery instead of a 650 mAh battery, which we never see in advertised specs, so kudos to Innokin on that! Charging to 3 bars (65%) took around 45 minutes, and a full charge was around an hour and 15 min.

The ArcFire Pod:
Innokin-ArcFire-Pod-Pod.jpg

The ArcFire pod introduces a brand new Innokin coil, the Arc-Coil. I've been a fan of Innokin coils for some time, primarily the Z Coil and their newer Duo Prime coils featured in their Z-Force tank and fitted into their Duo Prime Z Coils. The new Arc-Coils are something else, especially the 0.8Ω coil pod. I remember back when I reviewed the C100 from Innokin's sister company, Okino, and I was very impressed with the flavor output of their coils; especially from a brand I'd never heard of. I mentioned in that review that I'd love to see Innokin use those coils in one of their products, and this is what that tastes like. Utter deliciousness!

Now, I don't actually know if these Arc-Coils are a rendition of the coils from Okino, but I will say I'm thoroughly impressed with them for a few reasons. Firstly, I've run into an issue a few times with some of Innokin's older pods where if I was using a DL (direct lung) draw with their MTL devices, the coils would start burning prematurely. If I stopped using a DL draw and went back to using an MTL draw, it vaped flawlessly. Very weird. The only thing I can think of is, the juice ports in the coils weren't large enough to supply the wick with enough juice to allow a longer consistent draw. Going back to "tootlepuffs" as some ECFers call it, or cigarette-like draws allowed the wick to keep up. With the Arc-Coil, I've been DL drawing for the entirety of my testing, and it's been a complete champ. So, it's safe to say that these coils support both a DL and MTL draw which is super great to see. Secondly, I think the flavor output tops any pod coil Innokin has put out, to date. However, this statement is particular to the 0.8Ω pod coil, which you won't get to try out unless you purchase a refill pack of 0.8Ω pods. You're just going to have to trust me, it's well worth it. On a flavor scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst coil I've ever tasted, and 10 being the best - I'd put the 1.2Ω coil at around 7. It's above average, but harder to tell in MTL coils because you don't get nearly the same amount of vape production, which often leads to less flavor output. On that same scale, I'd rate the 0.8Ω pod very easily at a 9+. It's a banger.

The pod itself is quite basic and nothing irregular from what you usually see in most pods. The rubber plug has a recessed area under the end you need to pull up on to remove the plug (also denoted with an arrow). Also, I think Innokin has done a better job of labeling their coils than most pods I've seen from them and other companies in the past. One thing is missing however, and that's the coil metal used. Innokin almost exclusively uses Kanthal (as far as I've seen), so you shouldn't need to be worried about allergies from nickel or metallic hybrids.

The mouthpiece is pretty thin making it very comfortable between the lips and also makes it easy to secure a tight seal for MTL vaping. The airflow is what I would consider a loose MTL. You can tighten it ever-so-slightly by plugging the airflow hole located just above the button, but it doesn't restrict the airflow enough to be considered a true MTL draw (like that of a packed cigarette).

The pod can only be inserted into the pod battery one way, which I've noted with the arrows. The plastic between the arrows juts out just a bit, and that portion slides into the open side of the pod battery just above the airflow inlet hole.

The refill hole is large enough to easily fit a large Chubby Gorilla nozzle down into it, so you won't have to be worried about making a mess. Just be sure not to overfill the pod - leave a little bit of air near the refill hole when pushing the rubber plug back into the pod. Also, if you see the juice line receding below the top of the pod mod, refill it. You still have a ways to go before you reach the bottom of the juice ports, but just play it safe. Once you burn the coil, it's only downhill from there.

The bottom right picture is to show you how much "leakage" I got after almost a full month of using the first pod. No, I was not vaping on it the entire time, but I wanted to leave it in to see if, and how much leakage there would be. As you can see from the picture, there's hardly anything there - I would consider this a very solid pod in terms of leakage. There are plenty of pods I will not bring into my car, because I know they can't be trusted. The ArcFire is definitely one of the exception.

Refill Pods:
20230906_181940.jpg

The refill packs come with 2 pods in each package. There are 4 different pods you can purchase, so be sure you're purchasing the correct ones. 2 of the pods are 3 mL in capacity that come in 1.2Ω and 0.8Ω resistances. The other 2 pods are 2 mL in capacity (for TPD regulated countries) that also come in 1.2Ω and 0.8Ω resistances. If you buy the base kit featured in this review and are not satisfied with the 1.2Ω pod that comes with it, I very much encourage you to give the 0.8Ω pods a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

- CONCLUSION -

There isn't too much to nag on about the Innokin ArcFire pod kit. Yes, the base kit is very bare bones. Yes, the 1.2Ω coil that comes in the base kit isn't the best. However, if you give the 0.8Ω pods a try, I'm fairly confident that you won't regret it. With regard to dependability and product quality, it's going to be very difficult to beat Innokin's reputation in these departments. I've been quite taken aback by the new ArcFire, and really hope to see these coils being used in their future line of products. Replaceable coil atomizers, maybe? Hopefully they broaden the resistance ranges for these coils as well, because I think they hold a very competitive and deserving spot with what's currently available on the market.

I've been vaping 70/30 VG/PG, 3 mg/mL freebase juice in both coils and have had long-lasting luck with both. No signs of burning at all using a DL or MTL draw. I'm very impressed by this.

++ Pros ++
> Delicious (specifically the 0.8Ω pods)
> Reliable (no leaks after a month)
> Solid build quality
> Durable
> Sleek look
> Great hand-feel
> Easy to use
> Supports both DL and MTL draw
> Very portable
> USB-C charging (0.6A)
> Battery is actually 700 mAh
> Pass-through vaping

- - Cons - -
> None

+- Considerations -+
> Bare bone kit, although has everything you need to vape (excluding juice)
> 1.2Ω pod that comes in the kit is slightly above average in flavor output
> LED battery indicator has only 3 lights
> No airflow adjustment (loose MTL or loose MTL)
> Auto-draw only (can be both a pro and a con)

Overall Rating:
9.0
(I'd give it a 9.5 if they added the 0.8Ω coil to this kit)

That's all I got! If you're looking for a solid pod device that's going to satisfy your flavor cravings, the Innokin ArcFire is a definite winner. As I've stated several times throughout this review, buy some 0.8Ω refill pods along with this kit and you're not likely to turn back. The online user manual can be found here, and the official Innokin ArcFire page can be found here. Keep your eyes open for participating vendors. You can purchase the ArcFire on Innokin's online store for $15.99, and also find their refill pods there as well for $8.99 as of the posting of this review. Again, I want to thank @Innokin_timmy and you the reader for sticking with me. I hope you enjoyed this review.

Happy vape hoarding!

Neith EpicMod 5500│Review by Ben28 │

NEITH EPICMOD 5500

Disposables are flooding the market, which we all know, they are available in formats of 600,1000,5000 or even more puffs, usually intended for an MTL puff for people who are transitioning from tobacco to vaporizers and don't know how to start. Some are rechargeable, but at the end of the day each and every one of the disposables ends up in the trash without being able to use anything else from them.

Today we will be reviewing the Neith EpicMod 5500, provided by Healthcabin, a big greeting and thank you from here. They gave me to choose 3 flavors of the 10 on the market, you will see them soon in the review.

Healthcabin Message; HealthCabin is one of the biggest vape wholesale distributors in China, if you’re a vape business owner, just contact them to get competitive wholesale price.
Disclaimer; Nobody or any brand is paying me to do this review, all you will see are my most sincere opinions, both the positive and the negative.

To start, I will show you some images that the brand provides, to give us an idea of what we are going to see.

neith-epicmod-1.jpg

As we can see in the first image, the device has a 650mAh battery which is charged through a USB-C port. The device has 14ml capacity, about 5500 puffs and a mesh coil, which will offer us an incredible flavor.

The flavors they offer us are
  • Watermelon
  • Sour Apple
  • Grape
  • Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava
  • Blue Razz Lemonade ( Chosen by me )
  • Cola
  • Energy Drink ( Chosen by me )
  • Blueberry
  • Pink Lemonade ( Chosen by me )
  • Strawberry Kiwi

And according to them there will be more flavors in the future.
It also comes in three nicotine levels, 0mg , 20mg or 50 mg of nicotine.

-/ Packaging and First Impressions \-

IMG_8872.jpg

These are the three devices provided by Healthcabin, three different flavors, I have tried to go for something extravagant and that also catches my attention to see if it lives up to its promise. I'm going to focus on the packaging of just one so I can see it in detail, in this case it will be the Blue Razz Lemonade

IMG_8873.jpg

IMG_8874.jpg

On the front of the box we can see the name of the disposable, the amount of nicotine in the upper right, the capacity of the device, a photo of the device itself and the flavor indicated at the bottom.

At the top we see the name of the product again, the ingredients of the liquid and the Kumiho brand, which is the one that produces these disposables. I was quite surprised to see it since I also have the Kumiho Model V POD in the drawer waiting for a review. soon.

IMG_8875.jpg

On one side we see again the name of the product, the best before date and some contact information with the brand that produces this.

On the other side we simply see a barcode and a few warnings regarding vaping.

The only fault I can say about the packaging is that I see a lot of branding, which I don't dislike but I don't like it very much either, I think that putting it on the front was unnecessary, there was no need to put it on the sides and back as well, in my opinion.

IMG_8877.jpg

When you take it out of the box, the disposable comes in a sealed bag and yes, as you can see, more branding. Plus point is that it comes without a C cable and I totally prefer it, most people have one at home and I don't see the need to include it in every disposable you buy, it would be a waste.

IMG_8878.jpg

IMG_8879.jpg

This is what the three look like out of their packaging, they have a rubbery feel, which I love and they also come protected with a small silicone cap, which I warn you must remove to vape and also, a small sticker which covers the the air inlet and port C, always remember to remove it before vaping. I really love the colors but I feel that they could attract children because of the fade and the bright colors and that is precisely not what you are looking for.

4.jpg

This is how it looks once the sticker is removed, we see the air inlet which, by the way, also has an LED included which is activated when we take a puff and below it is the USB-C port which I honestly don't know how many amps it charges. , I have no way to measure it and there is nowhere to find it.

6.jpg

The device also includes a lanyard hook, I don't usually use it because I limit my vaping at home but it's nice to have.

-/ Vaping Time \-

Well, the first thing is the feel in hand, it honestly feels very good, the rubber feel is very good and the device is tiny, very pocket sized and it is great.

As for vaping, this is a loose MTL puff and maybe a very restricted DTL, intended for smokers who have quit.

As for flavors, there is something that I don't like at all and that is the amount of ice. Each and every one has ice, something to expect nowadays in disposables. It's not something I dislike at all, that is, I can tolerate it but I prefer it not to have it and even less in the quantity that this disposable has.

Energy Drink Flavor; Honestly, the flavor is very good, sweet, with a fairly strong amount of ice but... it doesn't taste like an energy drink, to me it tastes like something like honey (I love honey so there's no problem) but it's not what I promises in this case.

Blue Razz Lemonade; In this you notice the blueberries fully and at the end of the exhalation an acidic touch of lemon and of course, ice. This is my favorite of the three, it is perfect and the flavor is very good.

Pink Lemonade; This is a lemonade with strawberry, honestly, I notice the strawberry very in the background and the lemon more in front, I like that acid enough to lie and always always, ice too.

In general I liked these three flavors a lot, it is true that the energy drink one is not what it promises but it is still delicious.

One very important thing that I have noticed is that almost every time you go to take a puff you cover the air hole, which is not good at all.

To be honest, the battery on this thing lasts a long time, I don't know how many W it vapes at or how many ohms it has but it has a very long life, I haven't stopped to measure it but one day it lasts long enough.

-/ Pros and Cons \-

Pros
Cons
Good Flavours Almost always cover the air inlet
Three Nicotine Strengths Too much ice ( personal )
Pocket Sized No airflow control
Good Battery Life

-/ Conclusion \-

This device is a very good thing for people who are starting the transition but I highly recommend buying a refillable pod or something like that. The amount of discarded materials that who knows where they end up when throwing away disposables is incredible, please, opt for a POD type device and some nicotine salts or freebase with nicotine instead of this, this being my sincere opinion. As for the duration of the device, I've been using it for a few days and it still gives the same flavor and vapor as the first day, so in that sense it's good, and as for the price, it's very cheap if you buy it on sites like HealthCabin.

At the end of the day it is your decision, but I would bet on a POD type device instead of spending money on disposables.

That was the entire review, I hope you liked it, I loved doing it to be honest, any question or doubt, even constructive criticism, is accepted in the comments, have a good time vaping!

The younger boy has hair the color of Carrot Top. At the age of 18 years old, he wore that Carrot Top hair, walked into Pizza Hut where he worked, and robbed them at gunpoint when they opened the doors. Even dumber yet, he knew damn well that the cash register starts the day with only $100.

That earned him 8 years in prison. While he was there he earned his bachelor's degree in business Administration.

When he got out, one of our friends got him a job the day he got out. He works at a company that makes pavers and other similar products.

He now has a wife, three kids and a beautiful home on 10 acres of land! He is now a director at the company.

We moved out here to Oakdale California 20 years ago. Haven't seen him in 20 years, never met his wife or children.

This past March we bought tickets to fly him and his family out here to see Jeff Dunham and his puppets. Second best show I have ever seen, the first being Roger Waters doing the wall.

His youngest boy is 6 years old and can name every capital in every state in the US. He knows almost every country in the world and can name all of the planets in order. This kid is scary smart.

We went to San Francisco to see the Golden Gate Bridge and tour Alcatraz. We went to the Calaveras big tree State Park. This is where the sequoia trees are at.

Lucky for them, the road to Yosemite National Park was open.

We went to the shooting range with my 45 and targets with a picture of a president. I won't say which one because I might offend people.

He has a 16-year-old stepson that we brought with us to the shooting range. I emptied a clip, my boy empty the clip, we Reloaded and turned to hand the gun to his son.

The kid stood there like a deer caught in the Headlights. I went to the next stall, and picked up a shell from their 9 mil. Placed it in the Shell of my 45 and shook it around so he could see how much smaller it was.

Still not moving. Took him out to the counter and asked the man to show him a 22. Put that inside the 9 mil shook it around and ask him if he wanted to try it. He reluctantly agreed.

I showed him how to hold it and aim it. Is very first shot hit the President right between the eyes. "He said that's freaking cool!"

What's that got to do with vaping? He turned me onto it. Not to mention I am extremely proud of him.

Soooo I’m the new girl….

hellooooo fellow Vapers!! Thanks for welcoming me to the community! This is an awesome space for my head to exist, especially among others who simply enjoy living in the world of VAPELIFE. My government name is actually Jillian, but back in the day all my girl friends I used to smoke copious amounts of herbal with thought ‘Chillian’ was a better fit for young, tight-red-eyed Jill. Call me what you’d like, some call me ‘ChillJill’ others say ‘JillPill’. Haha but really though, I call myself ‘JillSpill’ cuz I am so mothafuggin accident prone. Ya if my vape at the time has a glass tank, you better believe I have at least 2 silicone protective bands around that sh**, or else there goes my clouds! Anyways I got my own perspective on my beloved vapelife, but I’m open minded and honestly I am very excited to LEARN some cool new sh**, as well as some new point of views, and the way you all live your BEST LIFE! So I do not really understand the get down yet here, but hopefully soon I’ll be right at home, sooooo friends, I ask that if you’re interested, shoot me 2 of the best things I should know about being a member of this community, as well as 2 of your all time favorite go to VAPELIFE HACKs!!!!

Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro Single & Dual Coil RDA | Reviews by Z-Lee

Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro RDA

Hellvape_Fat_Rabbit_Pro_RDA.jpg

Welcome! Today we're going to be taking a closer look at the Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro RDA. I've had the pleasure of playing with a few Dead Rabbit products, but they've all been RTAs. From doing a brief overlook of the previous releases of Dead Rabbit RDAs, the aesthetic has been changed quite a bit and a second inlet of airflow has been added. In addition, the traditional "rabbit ear" deck posts have been removed giving the Pro a postless deck which is what allows it to have a much lower overall profile. The big question is, does it affect the performance of the RDA that has been very well received in the past? We'll be covering that for sure as we plow through this review.

I want to begin by thanking Joyi at SourceMore for coordinating the shipment of this product and giving me ample time to conduct testing. Although this won't affect how I rate the products, it certainly should not go unmentioned. As always, this review will be conducted in a fair and honest manner. For those that have read previous reviews I've written, know this to be true.

I'll be giving a brief overview of what you'll find at SourceMore, followed by my own test results. All photos can be clicked on for easier viewing.

- TESTING RESULTS & OBSERVATIONS -

Hellvape-Dead-Rabbit-Pro-RDA-Kit.jpg

The kit comes packaged well and includes a number of goodies to help make the installation process as easy as possible. Everything, including the build tools comes with this kit, so there shouldn't be any worries about whether or not you'll have the right size allen wrench or screwdriver. I suppose you will want wire cutters and tweezers for wicking, but there are several workarounds for this if you do not have specific vape tools.

I do want to make it clear that this kit includes an additional drip tip and side AFC ring of a different color. There are additional kits you can purchase that also come with bottom AFC rings that you can also change out, but that is not included in this kit. What you see in the pictures above and below is what you get, and it's quite generous.

The Top Cap & Airflow Control Rings:

Hellvape-Dead-Rabbit-Pro-RDA-Exterior.jpg

This atomizer actually comes apart into 5 pieces, but for the purpose of what you'll need to know for this base kit, the bottom AFC ring doesn't need to be removed. If you look further up in the SourceMore Site Overview, you can see in the exploded picture how it completely disassembles if you do purchase one of the separate DIY kits.

The side AFC ring is slotted, but the actual inlets are a 5x2 honeycomb rectangle on each side that angle downward. Being that the deck is now postless, the coils sit much lower than they did with the previous rabbit ear deck posts, and the downward angle of the side airflows accommodate for that. The larger bottom airflow slots, when attached to the deck, actually swoop in and under the coils which you'll see below. This particular airflow arrangement makes it nearly impossible for the airflow to miss the coils (in a dual coil build), unless you install the coils all wonky. For a single coil build, I'd recommend cutting the legs of the coil a bit larger to give the airflow a chance to angle inward if you choose to use the bottom airflow inlets.

The bottom middle picture above is just a reminder that the atomizer has a large O-ring for the 810 drip tip. The 810s that come with the kit do not have O-rings, so keep this in mind if you plan on switching out drip tips with one of your own.

The last picture on the right shows that the top cap must be placed onto the deck with specific placement. The flat edges on the inside of the chamber must align with the flat edges on the deck - this ensures that the airflow will work flawlessly without there being a chance to screw it up.

The Dead Rabbit Pro is machined very well with tight tolerances, but not so tight that the airflow rings or drip tip are hard to move or remove - they slide around quite easily, in fact. Being that each of the rings sort of taper down as you get closer to the drip tip, you won't have to worry too much about them moving around on their own when screwing in or unscrewing the RDA.

The side airflow when solely active is a standard RDL (restricted direct-lung) that hits the coils very well and is very quiet. When the bottom airflow is solely active, it's a fairly loose RDL, but the airflow is a bit more turbulent and noisy. With both airflows fully active, there's hardly any restriction whatsoever and the noise doesn't increase all that much from just having the bottom airflow wide open. All 3 airflows have almost indistinguishable flavor output which is very, very impressive. This more or less will allow you to tailor the airflow to however you like it, without sacrificing any flavor which is something I have yet to see from any previous RDA or RTA with more than one airflow control ring. This however, is only with a dual coil build. Because of the chamber size not being interchangeable, like it is with the Damn Vape Nitrous RDA, you're going to lose a bit of flavor going with a single coil instead of a dual coil build. There's a build tutorial I'll add to the end of this review to give you an idea of what I did to achieve such great results with a dual coil build.

Hellvape-Dead-Rabbit-Pro-RDA-Airflow-Ring.jpg

For the side AFC ring, there's a nipple that sticks out from the top cap. The inside of the AFC ring has a groove with a larger opening on one side that fits down onto the nipple which becomes a sliding track. This provides the AFC with a stopper while also allowing the AFC ring to glide smoothly back and forth without coming off, unless you fully close the AFC ring which positions the nipple back at the groove opening. My belief is that the smaller opening to the groove on the opposite side is to allow air into the track keeping the AFC ring from becoming suctioned and impossible to slide, which is more common than you'd think. If this is the case, they thought through this atomizer very thoroughly (say that 5 times, fast :w00t:).

The Deck:

Hellvape-Dead-Rabbit-Pro-RDA-Deck.jpg

(Ignore my dry fingers please, lol)

The Dead Rabbit Pro deck is very simple, yet very effective. I know for a fact that I've seen quite a few decks configured in a very similar fashion, but for whatever reason the Dead Rabbit Pro is a flavor chaser's dream.

The postless deck design is what allows this RDA to be quite a bit shorter in comparison to the previous Dead Rabbit RDAs that utilized rabbit ear deck posts. This design change is what allows much of what I'll be talking about below.

As I'd mentioned above, the large openings you see on each side of the deck that make a right angle up into the vents match up with the bottom airflow inlets in the top cap. These channels for airflow need to be cordoned off from the rest of the deck, and that would have been much less efficient and compact with rabbit ear deck posts. For dual coil builds, I think you're going to find the easiest and best flavor with this airflow because you can't really mess up the lateral positioning of the coils - just position then directly over the vents. You can very easily mess up the height in which you build the coils, which will affect how the side airflow hits the coils and thus the flavor. You're pretty much forced to do this if you choose to build with a single coil, since you won't be able to position a single coil directly over the top of either vent. I mean, you can, but one entire vent is going to be hitting nothing which will more or less cut any flavor potential you have, in half.

I chose to use this atomizer as a dripper instead of in squonk mode using the provided BF pin like I usually do. This atomizer would work great on a squonk mod because the juice well is 9-10mm deeeeeeep. It holds a lot of juice. The only way to really flood this RDA is if you completely fill the juice well up past the vents, allowing juice to seep into the vents and out the bottom airflow inlets. If you have a good squonk mod, the bottle should suck excess juice out of the well never allowing it to get up past maybe a 1/4 of the full juice well capacity. If you choose to drip, take a peek down through the drip tip at the top of the gold-plated 510 pin. If you see juice here, you're good for a bit.

Quick Build Tutorial:
Hellvape-Dead-Rabbit-Pro-RDA-Wicking.jpg

The Coil Cutting tool has an arrow suggesting 5mm coil legs (leads) which works out perfectly for this deck. Once you've cut the coil legs, fasten them down into the grub screw slots using the provided flathead screwdriver.

Being that each of these coils are 0.37Ω, trimming the legs (loses a little bit of resistance) and pairing them in parallel (halves the total remaining resistance) should put the ending resistance at around 0.15Ω. Place the built deck onto an atomizer to verify you've built the deck properly and don't have any loose grubs or anything; the resistance should read around 0.15-0.16Ω. Set the mod to 25-30 watts and slowly pulse the coils making sure to strum out any hot spots (they look like bright lightning bolts that run perpendicular to the coil loops). If the coils are slightly spaced like you see above, then you shouldn't have to worry about hot spots. Once the coils have been heated up to an amber orange color (not bright orange!), you can consider them dry-burned and clean. The coils should now appear a darker color - this is completely normal.

Once the coils have had a chance to cool off (give it 2-3 minutes after you've dry-burned them), take a shoelace cotton and pull it through the coil. Not half way like you see all the people in the tutorial videos doing, unless you like to waste your cotton. You only need to pull it through enough so that you have about an inch between the coil and the plastic end on the shoelace. Cut the opposite end about an inch out from the coil, so you have about an inch on both sides of the coil. You can reuse the other half of the same shoelace for the second coil. Once you've wicked both coils, center the cotton wicks on the coils. Clip off the plastic end of the shoelace right where the plastic ends. You should now have about at least an inch of cotton on both sides of your coils.

Fluff out the cotton ends using a tweezers of some sort. I find Swiss tweezers work best, but ceramic tweezers work almost just as well. Fluff extensively. I usually end up pulling out about 1/3 of the density in each wick end. It should look like the picture above, and the cotton that extends out from the coil should be nicely combed and nearly be transparent for about 3/4 of an inch. Being that this RDA has a very deep juice well, make sure to pull the wick ends down along the outside of the juice well to make sure when you cut the wick ends, that they'll reach the bottom of the juice well. Do this for all 4 wick ends.

Neatly tuck the wick ends into the juice well making sure you're not "stuffing" them down. If you find that you're having difficulty getting the wick ends to neatly tuck into the well, consider thinning the wick ends more and/or cutting them down in length a tiny bit.

Once the wick ends are neatly tucked down into the well, thoroughly saturate the wicks with your chosen vape juice. Focus on the coils first - you'll know they're saturated when they no longer absorb e-juice. Make sure to get the wick ends, too.

And that's it, voila! Stick the top cap on, add a few more drops of juice if you're dripping, or squonk a few times to makes sure everything is saturated. Vape away.

One note - if you're using Rayon wicks at any point (this applies to all rebuildables), make sure when pulling the wicks through the coils that it's very, very tight . It should feel like you're almost going to bend the coils out of shape (and sometimes this does happen with higher gauge wires). Rayon shrinks when it's wet, and will cause premature burning in the coils if it's not tight enough.

- CONCLUSION -

I am thoroughly impressed with the Dead Rabbit Pro RDA. I would very easily put this on par with the Damn Vape Nitrous RDA and the Vaporz Cloud Asgard Mini RDA for dual coil DL RDAs that really make me say "Wow!". The caveat being, this only applies to dual coil builds. Chamber size in relation to the coil(s) size and vape production makes a huge difference, and that's where a tighter or smaller chamber for a single coil build is going to win. The Nitrous takes the cake for having access to both single or dual coil builds in a single kit. However, unless you get a great deal on the Nitrous, you're looking to spend probably double the price than you would on the Dead Rabbit Pro RDA. Pick your poison.

There are lots of great features in the Hellvape DR Pro. It's 24mm in diameter which allows it to fit on dang near everything. It has a very low profile and sleek look unlike the larger barrel-looking Dead Rabbit RDAs before it. It has airflow options galore with very little hinderance to flavor output. The machining is very well done and it doesn't feel sloppy, one bit. The included BF 510 pin uses an allen wrench instead of an open-faced flat head which is a HUGE plus in terms of messiness and potentially causing juice to end up down inside your squonk mod. I don't really have any negatives to add here.

++ Pros ++
> Newer, sleeker, low-pro look
> Machined very well
> Solid construction
> O-rings seal nicely
> 3 airflow options with very little sacrifice in flavor
> Very easy deck to build on (postless)
> Kit includes pretty much everything you need to build
> Kit includes additional 810 drip tip & side airflow ring (of different color)
> Very deep juice well (9-10mm)
> 24mm diameter (pretty much fits on everything)
> Performs well on a single battery mod (for a dual coil build)
> Squonk pin has a closed allen wrench opening

- - Cons - -
> None

+- Considerations -+
> Minor seepage if you play with the airflow rings a lot - common for all RDAs
> Not the best option for a single coil build

Rating:
Solid 9.5

I didn't give this a 10, because nothing's perfect. But this certainly hits the ball out of the park for a dual coil flavor monster.

I'll end this review by saying thank you again to Joyi over at SourceMore for providing me the opportunity to test this wonderful RDA. If you're looking for a solid and very affordable dual coil RDA, look no further. The Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro RDA is an undeniable winner in almost every aspect. Nautilus Replacement Options

I've used Aspire Nautilus for many years to the point that I wear out the threads. The last few tanks I have bought have been low quality and I'm thinking it may be time to move on to something more modern. I am not interested in Sub-Ohm vaping (been vaping for a long time and don't care for how they hit). Typically my coils are 1.8. Any recommendations? Looking for something similar, is rugged enough to survive my pocket, doesn't leak, good size tank, and a reasonable cost for coils. Thanks!
