After the iVeni Lite, I'm jotting down a few lines about the progenitor of the iVeni family, without suffixes, which was sent to me free of charge by Eleaf. The "original" iVeni is a pod with a few more features, starting with the screen and, consequently, a circuit more aligned with the world of box mods or larger pods. There's also a physical button usable for firing, and it's geared towards an MTL draw transitioning to a shy RDL.
The iVeni measures 25.8 x 16.6 x 117 mm and weighs 88 grams with the iVeni Pod installed. True to the "heavy in hand" description on the promo image, the weight is mainly due to the robust aluminum body, which, at the cost of a few extra grams, offers durability to those looking for a battle-ready pod. It delivers up to 40 watts (with all the limitations of the case) and has an 1100 mAh battery with fortunately available fast charging. There's a choice of 4 iVeni Pods and a capacity of 2 ml.
The Eleaf iVeni packaging is made of cardboard and features a scratch & check sticker to verify originality. The kit is richer than the Lite version, including the iVeni battery body, a 0.4Ω pod and a 0.8Ω pod, a USB Type-C cable, a user manual, and a warranty contained in a black cardboard insert.
The iVeni Pods, which I always specify despite the name, are what are now commonly called cartridges; the coil is integrated into the pod, and once it reaches the end of its lifespan, the whole thing is discarded. The only version available has a 2 ml capacity, made of clear smoked PCTG with the liquid level always clearly visible. Here too, the refill port is located on one of the sides of the duckbill drip tip, allowing for refilling without removing the iVeni Pod.
The iVeni Pods feature a mesh coil section and a choice of 4 versions, which, as we'll see, also have a preset average wattage from the iVeni's installed chipset, obviously modifiable later:
- iVeni 0.4Ω - 28-40 watts (included in the package)
- iVeni 0.6Ω - 15/25 watts
- iVeni 0.8Ω - 13/20 watts (included in the package)
- iVeni 1.2Ω - 10/12 watts
In this case, the iVeni, thanks to its 40 watts (max), can support the 0.4Ω pods, although even using them at minimum wattage, the 1100 mAh battery necessitates more frequent recharges. I imagine it was included in the kit to understand the maximum performance the iVeni can offer. The 0.8Ω pod, both for battery life and the iVeni's airflow (which, as will be seen later, ranges between a normal MTL and an RDL), is much more "natural" on a device with the iVeni's specifications.
The iVeni Pod housing here is also not very deep, with the great advantage of not having to tilt the pod or pull it out to check the liquid level. An automatic draw sensor is present, but it's not the only option available. Attachment is via magnets, and readings are handled by gold-plated pins.
The button has an original location; it's a generously sized fire button installed laterally, despite plenty of space on the front. Chromed and not matching the iVeni's color, it's used as the sole method to activate the functions present in the circuit. On the back, a faux leather insert covers the entire length of the iVeni and enhances grip.
On the opposite side, the airflow control knob, with the same finish as the fire button, allows for customizing the draw via 3 different sized holes. These can be partially closed as desired. The iVeni is designed as an open MTL - RDL pod, so don't expect a very tight MTL even when heavily restricting the airflow, unless you use the 0.8Ω iVeni Pod where it's possible to use only one airflow hole open without risk of overheating.
The USB Type-C port is installed on the bottom and directly connected to one of the iVeni's major pros: 2A charging. To complete a full cycle of the 1100 mAh battery takes about 50 minutes, thus compensating for the capacity which, for some vapers, might seem small, especially with iVeni Pods more geared towards RDL vaping.
On the front side is the round screen that differentiates the iVeni from other pods. Eleaf doesn't state the exact dimensions, but measuring it, it has a diameter of (approx.) 18 mm. Embedded in the iVeni's casing, it's very bright, as seen in the photos taken under intense light. Just below, there's an uncolored aluminum insert with "Eleaf" engraved on it.
The iVeni features a circuit with a minimal interface and suitable functions for a pod of this size. The home display shows the wattage prominently, and depending on the installed pod, "flames" similar to emojis are used instead of the ohm value to differentiate the various iVeni Pods. I'll also list the automatic wattage when an iVeni Pod is inserted:
- 0.4 Ω automatic wattage 32 watts, range 28-40 watts, 3 flames
- 0.6 Ω automatic wattage 22 watts, range 15-25 watts, 2 flames
- 0.8 Ω automatic wattage 15 watts, range 13-20 watts, 1 flame
The iVeni Pod from 1.2 Ω is not mentioned in the manual, but has a range of 10/12 watts. The iVeni also has a memory function that remembers the wattage used for a pod, automatically saved after two puffs.

The battery level is intuitive, where each bar corresponds to 24% of charge:
- 4 bars: 100-76%
- 3 bars: 75-51%
- 2 bars: 50-26%
- 1 bar: 25-1%
Protections:
- Short Circuit: short circuit protection
- Low Voltage: battery delivering less than 3.3 volts
- Over Time: cutoff of delivery after 10 seconds of puff
Automatic draw and fire button activation are always simultaneously active, unless the fire button is locked with 4 clicks. There is no puff counter.
Although Eleaf doesn't "market" it this way, the iVeni, in terms of solidity, is comparable, as a pod, to what the various Picos are – box mods that accompanied me for several years. It does weigh a bit more, but if you need a "heavy duty" device for a few hours of carefree vaping in conditions like a beach or a picnic, which can put lighter-built pods at risk, it might be just right for you.
