VAPORESSO XROS PRO KIT review by hittman

Hello and welcome back for a new review. This time I will be taking a look at the Vaporesso Xros Pro kit that was sent to me by Sourcemore in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. I used to do reviews for Vaporesso and was able to review the original Xros, Xros Mini, Xros 2, and Xros 3. I have been a longtime fan of the Xros devices and pods and use one daily as a pocket carry at work.

The Xros Pro has an increased battery capacity of 1200mah compared to the 1000mah of previous versions. It has a 30 watt maximum output. The new cartridges with COREX inside are now available in a .4 ohm resistance with a 3ml liquid capacity. The Pro is the first Xros model with a display screen to show wattage level for the .4 ohm pod. It can be fired using the button or auto draw. It has a sliding lock button that locks the fire button but allows the user to still fire in auto draw mode.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I have been a longtime fan of the Vaporesso Xros series of pod devices. At one point I was a reviewer for Vaporesso and was exposed to the original Xros while reviewing for them. I was immediately hooked on the Xros series for pocket carrying at work. I have used the Xros, Xros Mini, Xros 2, Xros 3, and the Xros Pro. I have yet to try the newly released Xros 4 but most likely will at some point.

The packaging for the Xros Pro is similar to what I’ve seen in the past. The front of the box has the Vaporesso logo in green in the background with a really nice color picture of the actual device contained inside. The Vaporesso and Xros Pro names appear in large white font on the top and bottom. The back side of the box has a list of specifications, packing list, company information, and a bar code with the color name and liquid capacity. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that I got the kit that didn’t include the .4 ohm pods since some features are only useable with those pods.

Once the box is opened then the user is greeted by a black pouch with the Vaporesso name printed on it. Inside the pouch is the user manual and a couple information cards. Underneath the pouch, the Pro with the .6 ohm pod, USB-C charging cable, and spare 1.0 ohm are visible sitting in a black plastic tray.

The Pro comes with a clear sticker over the front that gives the user immediate instructions on how to operate the device. As you can see, the Vaporesso name is branded near the top of the front followed by the multifunction button and the display screen. The Xros Pro shows the following information on the display. Honestly I find a hard time reading the display.

  • LOCK/ UNLOCK SYMBOL
  • PUFF COUNTER
  • BATTERY LEVEL PERCENTAGE
When using the .6/.7/.8/1.0/1.2 ohm pods press the fire button 3X to switch between Power, Normal, and Eco modes of operation. When using the .4 ohm pod then you press the button 3X to adjust the actual wattage. This is why I mentioned earlier that I was disappointed that I did not receive a kit with the .4 ohm pod.

Besides being able to adjust the mode or wattage depending on the pod used, you can also use the button to fire the mod if the lock button located on the side is not in the lock position. The mod will fire only in auto draw mode with the lock button in the on position. If it is then you will see a lock symbol on the display when you press the button. Also there is an LED function that can be turned on/off by pressing the button 2X. To reset the puff counter, press the button 4X. Finally, to turn the mod on/off press the button 5X. The LED that I mentioned is a battery level indicator. The indications are as follows.

    • Green = 70-100%
    • Blue = 30-70%
    • Red = 0-30%

Flavour isn't good. Wrong to compare?

Recommend me an RBA

Hey,

Just got my first RBA after using RTA's for a while. I'm used to the Fat Rabbit 2 RTA which has amazing flavour. Better than the Blotto Max that I had before.
I just got the Thunderhead Blaze RBA and the flavour isn't great. I've tried it with the coil it comes with and one of my regular staggered fused claptons which produces amazing flavour in my Fat Rabbit, but for some reason not this Blaze.
I have it in the SXK Billet Box v4. Is this what I'm to expect from a Boro device or can the flavour be just as good as an RTA with the right bridge?
Is the problem the Blaze or should I not be comparing a Boro device to an RTA?

I vape Direct Lung or Restricted Direct Lung so I've been looking at the KILLAB RBA by KILIC CUSTOMS or one of the bridges by Monarchy. Are they good?

Is there a DL bridge out there that gives great flavour or is this just it with Boro devices?

Thanks

This is an interesting one from 2012-13 by CloudBurst at Stormy's Vapor Cellar Terminator RA Tank ... if you remember she had made as a clone of the ODYSSEUS v1. I invested $124 in it with all of its spares back then. Included is version 1 and version 2. Its really well made and is interchangeable with ODY parts as well as I understand. I would like to get $50 shipped for this collector's item.

Old user falling back in ;)

Old user had a couple of years break but found all my old mods, tanks and equipment so im back :)

Have about 10 mods tanks and no coils to any of them.
Was one of the reasons i stopped many years ago. Buy a mod, tank a year later impossible to find coils. Replacement glass and so on :( took 5 different mods and tanks today to one of the bigger local shops. He only had coils for one of all the kits. Funny enough one of my first mod, virtually indestructable. Very abused still works perfectly after all these years. Broken countless mods glasses and tanks. So fragile much on the market. But i started to try to find out what coils. Glasses and other stuff i need. Can probably get around 10 full kits working if i manage to find out what i need. But found some already :)

Bench Test Results: Vapcell V2.0 M11 - 10A 1100mAh 18350

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Finally, a better 18350!
For several years all we’ve had is the oft-rewrapped YDL cell or another similar performing one (I don’t know from where) used in the Keeppower UH1835P and others. I don’t know what cell this is but Vapcell was right, it’s a much better performer than those cells.

This V2.0 M11 cell easily met its capacity rating (1198mAh and 1211mAh), runs for about 75% longer at 5A than the other 18350’s (yes, 75% longer), and seems to easily handle its 10A rating. I don’t know what its cycle life is compared to the other 18350’s but the V2.0 M11 is the best performing high current rated 18350 you can buy now IMO.

Be sure to get the gold-colored V2.0 M11 and not the purple-colored original M11.

There are higher capacity 18350’s, like Vapcell’s 1400mAh F14 and 1600mAh F16, but they are both rated at 3A. I hope to test the F16 but they’re not yet available in the US and shipping from AliExpress is nine weeks.

The Captain's Juice – Morey

IMG_20240429_180146_1.jpg
The Captain's Juice - Morey
Manufacturer: The Captain's Juice /MG Vape, France
While browsing the juicyvapour website, I came across this brand, which I was unfamiliar with, offering a blend of banana cream and crispy cake. Visiting the manufacturer's site, I saw that they have a very wide range of products where everyone can find a product with the right flavour profile for them, be it fruity, dessert or smoky. "Morey" is one of the products in The Captain's Juice range, which is probably named after a pirate ship. Coming back to the product, I received a 10ml nicotine salt version, which of course I tested in a pod system.
The scent definitely brings out the enticing smell of banana and freshly baked cookies. It's powerful and both flavours are perfectly pronounced, you can't deny its dessert nature.
The flavours are even more pronounced than the nose, but the balance is maintained so that no one flavour dominates over the other. The banana is creamy, rich and satisfyingly fruity, really giving the sensation of a fruit cream or pulp when steamed. The pastry which comes off very well cooked, as if it had just been taken out of the oven. It's slightly smoky, almost toasted but not burnt, producing a real dessert flavour that sweetens the steam on the inhale and exhale. The first time I used it, I thought "now that's a well cooked pasta". I felt a bit too much of a fried taste, but after further use, the product sort of made me think "this is how it should be", because the captain just took it out of the oven, and the banana is still warm inside, in short: that's how it should be!
Looking at the other "boats", this will not be the first and last taste test from the captain of the manufacturer, as I see other interesting flavours such as: cheesecake, caramel and peanut butter flavoured, as well as tobacco, vanilla, caramel and peanut flavoured variations.

Nothing is making sense. Please help!

I just used this calculator that was recommended on here.
As you can see from the screenshot, it has calculated 25.22grams nicotine.
But this is wrong, because it's showing 20ml in the quantity column.
Each bottle is exactly 10ml. It took two bottles and some more from a third bottle to make.
But it says 20ml. I have now put more than 20ml in, because I went and followed the damned calculator. This means I have got to have gone over my 6mg target.
The resulting liquid feels more than my 6mg target. I know what 6mg feels like and this isn't it. Now my hands are shaking, my head feels hot, my heart is racing and I think I'm going to throw up any minute.
I'm also really annoyed, because I will have to throw this juice and I haven't got any more nicotine left. Now I have to go to the shop again for more. And I don't want to leave the house feeling like this.

Please tell me what is going wrong.

E-Liquid Calculators Giving Different Results!?

What's with the variation between the mixing calculators?
How am I supposed to know which one is correct?

I tried the one from Make My Vape and one I downloaded to my phone, called DIY E-Liquid Calculator.
I can't use Ejuice Me Up because I don't have a Windows based computer.

I'm very confused by the differences.

What should I do?

Heartland Vapes

I placed an order for nicotine from Heartland Vapes and they responded with an email saying that due to the PACT ACT, I'd either have to provide proof that I own a retail vape store or they would have to cancel my order. I replied and told them I do not own a retail vape store and to please cancel my order. A week later, no response so I started sending them an email every day. After several weeks, still nothing so I got the Better Business Bureau involved. The BBB sent them a message on April 23rd, giving them 5 calendar days to respond. On April 28th, the BBB sent another message giving them 3 calendar days to respond. Still nothing. In the meantime, I placed an order for the same amount of nicotine from a different online retailer. I have already received that nicotine. The PACT ACT didn't stop them from shipping to me. Order from Heartland Vapes at your own risk.
