Voopoo ArgusXT UForceL Kit - Honest User Review! Spolier, I do not recommend!

Hi fellow Vapers,
I recently returned to vaping after a 3 year sebatacle in which I foolishly returned to smoking hand rolling tobacco. I still had my awesome Geekvape Legend 2 which I purchased from China 5 years ago but it is bulky for on the go vaping. I wanted something single battery, smaller and lighter in weight but good quality and reliable. After conducting weeks of researcha and reading reviews and getting ever increasingly bamboozled and confused I whittles it down to the Argus XT kit from a supplier named E-Cirette Ireland (I will speak very highly of these, awesome company & support).

Package was received 24 hours after order, and the unboxing was pleasurable and the mod did not dissappoint, nor did the tank.

I will start with the tank, the UForce L. This was my first experience of an 810 drip tip which took a little getting used to. I ordered the 0.8ohm PNP-R1 Coils on the advice of the retailer to get me started. I then switched to 0.8ohm PNP-TM2 Mesh coils to try them out. After initial leaking issues, I discovered that you need to close the air vent and allow the device to cool right down. However, the R1 coils still had a tendency to leak much more than the TM2. The air vents are on the ring just below the top and it is not possible to close completely, a minor design flaw. The flavour was awesome and it was the first time I got the proper flavour of an e-liquid. I previoulsy used the Nautilus 2 & 3 with 1.8ohm coils. Good tanks but lack of experience I was clearly not getting the best out of them. I digress. In a nutshell, the UForceL is a great tank.

Now the mod, the Argus XT! It started out great. The SMART mode is set by default but in the settings you can switch this of and select a user defined setting. The smart mode detects the appropriate coil wattage for the inserted coil. There is a 3 point switch just above the fire button to a) Lock device completely, b) allow you to change wattage and fire & c) lock the wattgae but allow you to fire. Brilliant and 1 of the features that drew me to the unit. It is IP68 rated which also drew me and it couls run on 18650 up to 21700, another selling point. It was sturdy, very well built and oozed quality. Everything worked fine for the first few days until the issues started.

Because I am a heavy vaper, I was using 2 tanks. The UforceL and my nautilus 2. I would rotate. 0.8ohm (12-18w) on the Uforce, 0.7 (15-30w) on the Nautilus. All went well for the first few days. It would auto set the wattage to 15w for the 0.8 and to 25w for the 0.7. Great, I did fiddle a little within the limits to see what was the best flavour profile but to be fair, it was bang on. The first issue started after a few days, it would occassionally not detect that I had changed from 1 to the other. Not a problem, I thought. Just a glitch with the chipset. After about a week, It started locking when I tried to fire while it was in position C (wattage lock but can fire). I tried flicking the lock switch and it seemed to work initially. When that stopped working, I then resorted to removing teh battery for 30 seconds and replacing and this seemed to work briefly. Over the coming days, the issue got worse. To the point where it was becoming unusable. I searched the auld interweb and discovered a few posts on this exact issue. The earliest about 9 months ago on Reddit. One of the recommended solutions was to switch the SMART mode off and go to the user defined setting which I did. Again, this seemed to fix the issue until......

After exactly 14 days, I awoke and tried to vape and the device would not fire no matter what I tried. I was more than a little annoyed. I went online in search of a fix and again returned to the Reddit thread and found that Voopoo were aware of the issue and, some months previously, had issued a firmware fix to disable the lock permanently. This was not something I was happy to do for a number fo reasons. This was an expensive mod. I've had devices brick on me before trying to update frimware and this fault did not instill confidence in me and their software/device. I decided I wanted to return the device for a refund. I contacted the supplier (E-cirette) and they were brilliant. Told me they were aware of this issue with the device and agreed to the return and refund.

I am unhappy with Voopoo. This was my first Voopoo device. I have previous experience with Aspire, Innokin and Geekvape. I have had no issues with any of them. They have been aware of this issue for the better part of a year and yet continue to retaIl this device with the known fault at the original retail price. Their repsonse is to issue a firmware update for which users would no doubt have to accept responsibility for if anything went wrong. The physical lock switch was mentioned and complimented on every review I watched and highlighted as 1 of the main selling points. It is inconvenient to have to go through the returns process as I now have to wait up to 14 days my refund.

That is my honest review and I hope it helps someone in their decision making process.

RTA or RTDA - Which Is Best for MTL Vaping? Heavy User

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me which you would recommend for a 1st time DIYer, an RTA or an RDTA? I vape a lot and like large tanks. RTA's seem to have the largest tanks, although a few RDTA's do have decent sized tanks or are expandable.

Looking for maximum flavour. A single or dual config for later experimentation. Which 1 leaks least and is better for MTL, flavour. Am using 70vg/30pg at the minute with 3 or 6mg of nicotene. Planning to cut out nic before xmas, hopefully.

If you could recommend a few, I would appreciate it. I was looking at the Hellvape Fat Rabbit or Hellvape Rebirth with Mike Vapes but have recently discovered Hellvape are allegedly ripping off peoples ideas and designs which I am not a fan of and would prefer not to support companies doing this.

As always, thanks for any advice!

Issues with SERI rda dead rabbit

Hi, I'm new to these forums but i decided to give it a shot anyway. I've had this tank for around 4 months or so and been making my own coils without a problem.
Recently it started behaving weirdly tho, I put in the 3 coils, tighten everything up and my vape displays 2.5 - 3ohms instead of the expected 0.3ohms. At 140 watts the coils are barely producing any vapor, even if at this wattage the coils should be making it like crazy. It's not an issue with my vape by the way, i've put it on another vape of mine and it was still reporting the same ohms.
I would appreciate if someone could help me out on this one. Cheers everyone!

Well, I'm back from the dead

I'm glad I had my account login saved from this place, but now I remember what I went through last time I started new. SO much information my head is spinning.
I quit smoking about 10-12? years ago by vaping, was off the smokes for 3 whole years, then fell off the wagon (don't worry, I kick myself plenty every day). I've decided this has to be done so... here I am again.
I don't even know what to try first. I've copped a couple of those throw-aways at the vape shop and they are just terrible.
My go-to years back was a Provari (which I still have) with a Kanger pro tank using Apollo Ry4 (thats the only one I purchased and liked, but could never replicate well). Now it looks like their website is gone, right along with Provari... what a bummer.
I've done some reading and sounds like salt nic (this is a new thing since I disappeared) isn't really for me. I'm more of a mechanical addict than anything else. So my game is volume, not strength.
Anyway, do any of you old heads who remember the Kanger Pro tanks (the original) have a recommendation on something that hits about like that with roughly the same draw? I like lightly restricted airflow... and I don't do direct lung hits. And what about a comparable juice to the old Apollo Ry4?
I also used to have my own overgrown lab with hundreds of flavors, but I don't think I want to get that deep into the weeds again, I have too many other hobbies.
I'm thinking a pod type rig is probably best for me, I don't want to go back to the big tanks and mods, I don't want to fight building coils anymore either. I would prefer something with a button trigger instead of draw activated, but I'm not finding anything with just wild googling.
And what a terrible thing to find that FastTech is gone as well. Maybe thats a good thing though, I spent way too much money at that website.

anyway... my first step toward quitting was this post, I just need to gather supplies and get that sorted out so I can take the leap. Suggestions are warmly welcomed!

Bench Test Results: Vapcell T39 - 35A 3900mAh 21700

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This is a great performing cell for high power applications, beating the Samsung 50S and Molicel P42A at 30A. It doesn’t do as well as those cells at low to moderate power levels though. The Molicel P45B beats it at all power levels.

The T39 has a very low DC internal resistance (DC IR) so its voltage at the start is about as high as the Samsung 30T and Molicel P45B, making it a good choice for mechanical vaping devices where the cell can be recharged often (it “hits hard”).

Its continuous current rating seems to be in the 30A-35A range but like all cells I recommend not running it at/near its rating in order to extend cell life and reduce voltage sag.

There is a 50A “max” current rating on the wrap but there will be a lot of voltage sag at this level and you can’t run it for very long this hard. Don’t let the cell get over 60°C.

This cell looks a lot like the Lishen LR2170LA but it performs differently. The T39 is worse at 10A and better at 30A than the LR2170LA’s I tested. Their top contact structures are identical so it could be a Lishen but I don’t know for sure.

This cell has two plastic top insulating rings, which is great if you have a device that is rough on cell wraps and top rings. But this cell is about 70.7mm long, even longer than a Molicel P42A, and might not fit in devices that are a snug fit for Molicels. Its diameter is about 21.2mm.

The two cells I tested delivered 3968mAh and 4007mAh. This isn’t very good consistency but it is above this cell’s 3900mAh rating.

Limited budget can only choose 1

Hey folks, my OBS Engine is getting a bit old at this point and me as well so I wanted to switch to a more flavourful rta that is mtl. I live in Turkey (very small option window due to there being limited vendors since selling vape stuff is illegal) and my options are;
  • dead rabbit mtl
  • ulton kuma
  • bishop mtl
  • yftk Flash E-Vapor v4.5s+
  • aromamizer classic mtl
  • auguse era pro
  • era v3
My ultimate question is which one I should choose for ease of building and flavour.
