I know you probably can’t believe it but yes, here I am again. This time I will be attempting to give you a fair and honest review on the Steam Crave Meson RTA that was sent to me by Sourcemore. I had heard quite a bit of positive feedback on this tank so decided to request it for review. Unfortunately shipping took a very long time so I feel like I’m a little late to the game but will still go ahead and cover it for those that are interested or might be on the fence as to whether they want to purchase one.

The Meson is a 25mm single coil rta. I’m not familiar with other Steam Crave tanks but do know that they are quite popular. It is recommended for RDL from 20-50 watts and holds 5ml of liquid with the pre-installed straight glass and can hold 6ml of liquid with the included bubble glass. It is a top airflow tank but makes use of an internal honeycomb airflow that is directed at the coil.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Meson RTA is simple but nice. On the front is of course the Steam Crave and Meson RTA names as well as a simple sketch of the tank. Near the bottom in fairly bold print is the statement “The Best Single Coil RTA”. That’s a pretty bold statement even for Steam Crave. The back side of the box is fairly bare and doesn’t list the usual contents list that I see on most tanks and devices. There is an authenticity scratch off code and a standard bar code.

Rather than the usual two part box that I see a lot of samples come in, the Meson comes in a box with what I call a lift top box that is lifted but stays attached to the base. The tank is found sitting in a foam insert on the left while the accessories and spare bubble glass are located on the right side. Of course there is also the user manual and a sticker included. As you can see, I received the black color version for my review with the swirled red drip tip. For me personally, the included drip tip has an odd shape and I just couldn’t get used to it despite liking the appearance of it.

I know I sound like a broken record but always break down a new tank as much as possible and give it a good cleaning to get rid of any residual machining oil that might remain from manufacturing. This one is a little different to disassemble compared to many other tanks. The base does thread off but the base is not attached to the threaded ring on the bottom so you will pull the threaded ring and then will need to pull the base/build deck out manually. The top cap is threaded on this one instead of the bayonet type connection that we normally see on most tanks these days. Once the cap is removed then you can use a coin or a boro nut tool to remove the chimney from the top by inserting it in the slots in the chimney top and turn it counterclockwise to unthread it. At this point the chimney can be removed and the airflow base will come out the bottom which is what the chimney threads into. For those that are interested, the chimney diameter is 5.5mm. Once the chimney is removed then you can clean the tank or just replace the glass tank section. Steam crave was nice enough to provide a visual explanation in the picture below.

As you can see in the picture above, the Meson can be broken down completely into nine pieces including the drip tip. Once the top cap is unthreaded then it exposes the two large kidney shaped fill ports. I would think that just about any bottle could be used for filling on this tank. Below you can see the openings as well as the top of the chimney with the slots cut into it for disassembly. The top cap has a single o ring around the inside perimeter and also has an internal o ring in the opening for the drip tip so you can use 810 drip tips without o rings on them.

The only branding that I could find on the Meson is on the top cap where the Steam Crave and Meson RTA names are engraved into the top cap. I think I mentioned this earlier but the top cap on this one is threaded and not a bayonet style. Kind of unusual to see these days on an rta.

The chimney tube is threaded on one end and threads into the airflow base that has a total of 18 honeycomb airflow holes that are pointed at the coil when the tank is assembled. They are calling it a base but normally I would call the inside metal body of the tank the chamber. By adding this airflow base, it not only directs the airflow from the top inlets down through the chamber and out through the honeycomb holes then up to the tip but also reduces the area of the chamber to enhance flavor production.

The build deck for the Meson is not part of the bottom cap like I am used to seeing on rtas. Instead when the bottom cap is removed then the build deck is still attached to the tank. You have to manually pull it out for building. I’m not sure I know why this was done unless replacement decks were going to be made available. It is a simple and easy to build two hole post-less deck that uses allen head grub screws to secure the coil. The user guide recommends a 2.5mm coil but says that a 3mm coil may be used also. It also recommends cutting the coil legs at 4mm which seemed to be a bit short in theory to me but was a good fit once installed.

I used a 316L Clapton wire I had on hand to wind a 2.5mm coil. I normally run 3mm coils almost exclusively but thought it would be a good idea to follow the suggestions in the user guide for testing. This coil read .44 ohms on the mod I was using. I decided to fill the tank with a DIY raspberry custard that I have used for quite a while. I dialed the output in at 31 watts with the airflow about 1/3 open. With these settings I felt that the flavor was very good and quickly went through a couple tanks. I continued to use this mix for a week and really didn’t notice a decrease in flavor. Below you can see the build I put in the deck after a usage period of one week.

I had found a roll of quad core ni80 wire that I had forgotten that I had bought and really wanted to try it out so since the user manual said a 3mm coil would work, I went ahead and wound and installed a coil using this wire. I had a little bit of trouble with shorting initially and when I put a new build in with this wire I will go to 4.5mm leg length instead of the recommended 4mm. This is because the quad core wire is very stiff and it’s hard to stretch it much to bring it a little higher off the base of the deck. For this one I used Dinner Lady Lemon Tart. The flavor was also very good but had to increase the output on the mod to 35 watts. I left the airflow about 1/3 open which was a good fit for me for RDL. I’m sure this coil could handle a lot more wattage but I was happy with these settings.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to say that I have been very happy with the performance I have seen with the Steam Crave Meson RTA. Is it “The Best Single Coil RTA” like they claim? I probably wouldn’t say that since I haven’t tried every single coil rta on the market. However, it is a very good rta and I would say it is one of the better ones that I have tried as far as flavor production goes. All of the threading on the Meson was very smooth and had no troubles disassembling or assembling it. I decided not to install the bubble glass since I like the appearance of it with the straight glass and I'm good with the 5ml capacity. One more ml of liquid capacity wasn’t worth it to me to change the appearance of the tank for me.

I thought it was a little funny how Steam Crave took the opportunity to pimp the Hadron Lite and Hadron Mini mods while promoting the Meson RTA. I do have a Hadron Lite mod that I have had for some time so decided to use it to test the Meson. I had forgotten how I find the Hadron a little awkward at first since it has a top fire button. If I try to hold it and thumb fire then I end up hitting the wattage adjustment buttons underneath so have found it best to fire with my pointer finger.

It did seem a little odd at first to have a tank with a threaded top cap rather than the bayonet style top cap that I have become accustomed to. After a little while though I didn’t mind it. I had mentioned at the beginning that I really wasn’t familiar with Steam Crave tanks so I don’t know if they do the same type of bottom cap and build deck design on other tanks. I found it really strange how the build deck is a separate piece and not part of the threaded base cap. It is nice though that the 510 is part of the deck so you can just screw the deck onto a mod or resistance tester without having to put it in the base cap. However, I did get my hands a little messy after wicking and priming the wick when pulling it off a mod and putting it into the tank since I didn’t have the base cap to hold.

So, would I recommend the Steam Crave Meson RTA for you? If you are looking for a quality made single coil rta for RDL then absolutely I would say yes. As a matter of fact, I am planning on adding a couple more of these to my collection.

Presentation is nice with a slide out inner box with a box containing the user manual and charge cord sitting on top of the device, lifting the box off reveals the Argus Pod SE with a 0.7Ω and 1.2Ω Pod next to it in a pre-cut plastic tray. Picking up the device and placing it in my hand I found it disappeared very easily in a clenched fist which I like. There is a design on the Orange colored sample version that I received for testing that is seen when the light hits it at the right angle. I would say that it's weight is fairly light just making it a shirt pocket friendly device.

So the guy who sold me this on Friday told me to keep the juice above the little windows that show the coil inside. He said otherwise, the coil could burn out too fast. It has been 1.5 days and the juice looks dark to me. Am I doing this right? Should I empty the juice? Vape it down and then switch to a new coil? Or is the darkness not a problem? American sugar doughnut, filled with strawberry and raspberry jam. I confess that maybe a year ago, I received a 10ml flavour from the manufacturer for testing. Back then it was in concentrate, now I think it's just longfill and friends playing around. When I tasted it a long time ago, it really won me over. So, now it has come to me in longfill form, which I am very happy to share with you. The usual box, inside is the 60ml bottle containing the 20ml of flavouring. Raspberry and doughnut, which is what you can smell most on the scent, in pleasant harmony. Sweet raspberry on the inhale and then a hint of doughnut on the exhale. But we won't stop there, it would be too simple. The manufacturer has also added a little twist, which is of course not in the description, a little vanilla. I'd say he's made the flavours a bit crazy, like a vanilla pudding, but I'd be careful. Dipped in vanilla custard, the doughnut topped with a little raspberry cream. The raspberries are not jam, more just a raspberry cream, strawberries, well, they're nowhere to be found (I don't miss them), the doughnut is not a powdered sugar yummy, just natural "floating gum" . The flavours are not very strong, but obviously designed for all day use. It's just good as it is, you can't get tired of it. In broad outline that's probably all I can write about the product, I'll leave the rest to you, try it, steam the dessert of the "empire" .

Ok so once more its pod reviewing time,another device that was provided by my friends over at Voopoo for the purposes of this review.

Following my long tradition of sticking with what works i will start with some pictures which should give you a quick idea of the type of device i am reviewing today:

Dropping the cig habit and starting vaping was never so easy,all you need is the contents of this box,electrical outlet and some e-liquid and voila!! you ready to live a better life.

Small itsy tiny with everthing neatly tucked away,remove the top box which includes the usb-c type cable and an instruction booklet.
Underneath you will see the pod and 2 cartridges,one is the 0.7ohm coil and the other is the 1.2 ohm coil.

I got the Orange shiny color which looks awesome,nice and polished look and a cool looking design.
Pod is made out of Zinc Alloy, PC/Leather,will only get leather in some color versions,in my case its just Zinc Alloy and PC.

Even thou it is just a tad bigger than your run of the mill lighter it does feel quite well built,nice weight to it too.


Vaping time:

Both cartridges have some rubber tabs on the bottom side,just lift and there you got the opening to fill the cartridge with the sweet nectar of the gods.
Had the coils soak in the e-liquid for 15 minutes and it was time to give it a try.

I already knew what i was getting into since i had already tried these coils when i reviewed the Argus G,both the 0.7 and 1.2 coils deliver a flavorful vape.
But personally i enjoyed much more the 0.7 ohm coil,airflow fully open and that is where i made my home.

E-liquid wise as per usual i used my 70/30 (6mg nic) Shiva e-liquid,flavor i got from both coils was spot on.

This device has no menu,no UI just 3 led lights on the side that will flash or light up depending on what is happening.
The Argus SE has a 800mah battery which will be fully charge in less than an hour,about 51 or 52 minutes and you ready to go out and about with your new device.

While charging the device the 3 leds will light up accordingly to the current status of the battery,once all 3 leds are lit up and remain lit up it means you can unplug and use it.

Battery status:

3 leds:66% and 100%
2 leds: 33% and 66%
1 led:0% and 33%

When real low on battery the leds will turn red and flash 10 times.
Short circuit the red led lights up 2 times.
If you puff for longer than 8 seconds the led will light up 8 times.
In the case of high temperature the red led will light up 15 times.


Pros:

-Small but durable
-Good quality build
-No leaking and very small amount of condensation thru my extensive use
-Aesthetics wise it does look cool,some thought was put into the design
-Autodraw feature works like a charm,no delay nor problems when using it

Cons:

Not really any con i can think of,this device delivers and does its job which is having a nice small portable device that provides a good MTL (bit loose if you want) experience.

Would i recommend this device:

The Argus Pod SE is a good solid device to dip your feet in the vaping pool,no menu or UI to figure out,just charge it and start vaping.
For vet vapers this is also a good choice so that you will have a small vaping device that will fullfill your needs if you need something small and you can't carry your main vape.

As per usual Voopoo delivers a good product,it does its job and it looks pretty darn cool so really what more can you ask for?

Hey, everyone! I just started vaping again (after years of not vaping). I got a GeekVape Max 100 (I think). I bought 3mg juice.

Of course, already I just want to vape constantly.

If I vape very very often all day (I know that doesn't help much but I'm not sure what other info to give) except in the presence of my kids (after school hanging out, going for drives and so on), am I getting a pack of nicotine? Two packs?

Zovoo DRAGBAR Z700 SE Review



With thanks to Zovoo/Voopoo (thanks Fiona!), today we are taking a look at the newest Dragbar on the market: the Z700 GT!

Some of you may recall that I reviewed the Zovoo Dragbar Z700 GT a while ago on ECF; the Dragbar Z700 GT looks kind of similar to that in some ways, but has some awesome improvements in my opinion!

I have been using these devices for MTL vaping, for the last couple of weeks as an average vaper; and this review will go through the device specs, information, and actual feedback from yours truly.

Quick-fire information on the Z700 SE:

• Appears to be presented as two devices of the same flavour in one pack, with a 1400 puff count claim on the packaging (700 puffs per device/2 mL capacity). Now, I did receive sample units and so it would be interesting to see if Zovoo will mix and match flavours with the retail versions- that would be cool, wouldn’t it?
• Dimensions at 112 x 21 x 9 mm. It is flat and long-ish, and seriously weighs next to nothing.
• 380 mAh battery.
• Operates via auto-draw: no device button to toggle whatsoever.
• Made from plastic.
• Uses a 1.0 to 1.4 ohms Gene Tree Special Edition ceramic coil.
• Available in a massive array of 50 flavours!

Ergonomics and Style:

One of the similarities shared with the Dragbar Z700 GT is the Dragbar Z700 SE’s form factor of being elongated and extremely lightweight. It is very portable and will tuck in anywhere- very convenient for vapers on-the-go! Needless to say, ergonomics is extremely good with the Z700 SE; basically, I hold the device with my thumb and forefinger and vape away!

Branding is, well, on-brand for Voopoo (Zovoo). “Dragbar” in big and bold white lettering adorn the front of the device, clearly announcing it to be a Zovoo product. It’s completely fine by me as the device might look a little too plain without this branding.



It is made from plastic in bright colours to make it stand out. Similarly with the packaging, at least of the ones I received, the box itself was quite striking being in yellow, hence definitely catching the eye.

Although the device is a single unit disposable (you get rid of the entire thing when all the liquid or the battery is used up), there are 2 distinct visible components to this device being the battery and transparent e-liquid window. The latter also doubles as the mouthpiece. I really like this change made by Zovoo as this e-liquid window eliminates the guess work needed to see much e-liquid is left!



Use Feedback, Including Flavours:

Vaping with the Dragbar Z700 SE is so easy. It is quite literally just removing the packaging + silicon plugs from airflow hole and mouthpiece, and off you go vaping!

A light comes on the upper part of the battery portion to indicate use, and when chain vaping, I did find that this part becomes a bit warm. Nothing that would cause me concern though and I suppose it’s to be expected given how thin the device shell is.

Air travels from the bottom of the device, towards the ceramic coil, and out the long-ish chimney. I think that due to the length of the chimney (plus having a ceramic coil), the vape tends to feel a bit tepid, which was what I also observed in the Z700 GT. But there is a positive difference as the vape from the Z700 SE feels fuller. The ceramic coil atomises the e-liquid in fine particles, so almost like a mist, but even then, each puff does amazingly feel dense in the mouth which is so satisfying.



The draw is that of a medium MTL vape for me and which is also just right for my preference. The auto-draw mechanism was also very responsive- there was hardly any lag when taking a puff!

As to be expected from Zovoo, every flavour sent for me to sample tasted amazing! The Blue Razz Ice tasted of the fresh berries with just enough cooling to complement the flavour. Strawberry Kiwi was almost candy-like in taste for me which I quite enjoyed: sweet and just hints of tartness from the kiwi. And the Banana Ice also tasted lovely, with a strong candied banana flavour coming through.

Final Thoughts:

The Dragbar Z700 SE is a welcome addition to Zovoo’s Dragbar family. The two main differences that really stood out for me was the fuller, more satisfying vape it delivers, alongside the transparent e-liquid window (as compared to the Z700 GT). Tying both of those points with the awesome flavours I’ve come to anticipate from Zovoo, I would say that vapers of all experience levels can’t really go wrong with the Dragbar Z700 SE.

Im pretty New at vaping started at the end of januari havent smoked since then and vaping became my hobby i even collected multiple box mods since then since i love Boxey mods hehe and im huge fan of lost vape,geekvape,voopoo...
Anyway decided to go to rebuildables since i was using the reg SubOhm tanks with coilheads...
So i bought 3 RDAs geekvape tengu,Wasp VLS,and dead rabbit v3, flavor is fine but its very finicky like when i build it its very frustrating alot of times my coils never glow at the same time or other issues they vape fine tho but to get it to vape as good as SubOhm tanks it takes a while for me to play with it and i get frustrated like i said, should i keep at it?
Or go back to tanks?
Also i really like my tanks should i maybe try a RTA as well?
Or give up rebuildables totally
Has anyone here given up on rebuildables before?
