► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA; How it's made:
After some graphic changes, the Dead Rabbit logo returns to proudly display on the central one-piece structure. Elegant decorations are found on both the AFC ring and the base of the deck. The base, on the bottom, features a slightly protruding adjustable 510 pin and the additional PRO logo.
► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA; Refill:
The attention to detail is particularly noticeable when dismantling and separating the top cap from the underlying one-piece intermediate structure. To perfectly seal the sliding area of the refill, the top cap uses a large O-ring and a white silicone gasket. Both of these elements are replaceable and are supplied as spare parts in the spare parts package. The sliding top cap is marked with an arrow; the slide is well-padded to prevent accidental opening, and the refill slot is correctly sized for most e-liquid bottle tips. The Dead Rabbit 4 RTA with the straight tank can hold up to 3.5ml of e-liquid, while the glass bubble tank can hold up to 5.5ml.
► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA; AFC System:
The airflow control ring adjusts the two large slots underneath, which are fed through different designs: holes, circles, slots, and pentagons for unique adjustment, promising multiple and artistic airflow settings.
The ring is equipped with rotation stops and appears precise and well-braked, maintaining the set setting. The new design of the Dead Rabbit 4 and Dead Rabbit 4 PRO AFC ring allows for ample airflow for deep DL draws but also offers good airflow restriction for RDL. The postless deck has increased the total number of holes from 32 to 48. These 48 holes are arranged on the deck partly in the center and partly on the two large raised baffles. The internal airflow occurs inside the bell through two slots that compress and channel the airflow from top to bottom, before it rises from the sides and underneath the coils through the central chimney. The vapor then rises toward the coils and is amplified and corrected by the 48 holes on the postless deck. According to Hellvape's technicians, this step maximizes the distribution of airflow around the coils, resulting in the best performance in terms of cloud consistency and flavor.
► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA; Build:
After unscrewing the base and removing the deck, you'll need wire cutters, a coil jig, and cotton scissors. In the spare parts package, you'll find a flathead screwdriver, a coil tool, and two 0.37Ω Ni80 Clapton coils. Here's where some simple build steps for the Dead Rabbit 4 RTA begin. After cutting the coil legs to 5mm and inserting them into the appropriate holes on the postless deck, you'll need to: Tighten the screws, straighten the coils, activate the coils to eliminate any hot spots, and then prepare to insert the cotton swabs provided. After installing the coils and inserting the cotton swabs into the slots, you need to do the following: moisten the cotton with e-liquid, replace the deck, open the top cap slide, fill the tank with e-liquid, close the top cap, and finally adjust the AFC ring as needed. The build is complete; now you can start creating dense clouds of vapor.
► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA; Final conclusions:
For the vaping test, I installed the two 0.37Ω Clapton Coils by Hellvape made of Ni80, partially using the cotton swabs provided. The declared resistance value of the single coil is 0.37Ω; in fact, after completing the dual-coil build, the indicated resistance value is about half that. With a selected power of 60W and with the flow completely open, you get a logically open DTL vape, but not as open as with the previous V3 version. However, in my opinion, the V4/PRO is able to provide less flavor dispersion without penalizing the size of the clouds. Closing the AFC increases the throat hit, and the heat of the vapor transmitted to the tank is well managed by the massive construction of this tank. As with the V3, the V4/PRO also has a deep and calm draw sound, never annoying, the popping of the coils is more noticeable than the hiss of the draw. Ultimately, the top-to-bottom airflow was managed very well previously and still is thanks to the improvements Hellvape has made to the new Air Ring. The Dead Rabbit 4 RTA & Dead Rabbit 4 PRO RTA may seem very similar to the previous DR 3, however, there are several improvements starting with the structural sturdiness which is due to the generously thick metal. The refill area is a throwback to the past, with a slide opening that allows for faster filling. Special attention was paid to the mechanism to prevent accidental opening. Otherwise, the precision of the fit and finish maintain the high level of Hellvape's best products. The postless deck has increased in size by approximately 1mm and has been redesigned with raised side panels to accommodate a greater number of ventilation holes. This not only facilitates building, but also maximizes vapor by providing a wider and more directed airflow to the coils. I find the Dead Rabbit 4 PRO, with its armored glass protection, fantastic. Its aggressive and robust look truly made it the RTA I was missing.
