Basic virtual credit card info:

Ignore the "Ramp" business bit. LOL
Thanks for the line mate, it doesn't seem like the bank has them, maybe the technology is too new for them.

Tor does your bank offer the option to use a virtual credit card? Or, if you have a credit card, check with them, most provide virtual credit card numbers these days for online purchases. Virtual cards offer another layer of security for your accounts.

When I make purchases online I use my Apple card or Discover card virtual numbers. Nice thing with either is I can obtain a new virtual number as needed.

Helps to keep the scammers at bay. :)
I'll have to check with them, but if they have it that's great, but I'm going to use a card I never have much money on, I usually pay regular things like patreon to Todd's Review and Mooch on it. As far as I know we can't run a negative on the visa cards.
I'll have to take the time to transfer money to it every now and then when I'm going to do the online shopping.

A bit short-sighted to use the main account for online purchases like me lol

I just found out that we have to go to dinner tomorrow night after work to our youngest daughter’s. The boyfriend’s parents are going to be there so it sounds like it might be an engagement announcement. I guess we won’t be doing any cooking tomorrow night. I really like the boyfriend and am happy for them but it’s kinda bad timing the day before thanksgiving when we have to host.
Hopefully you can enjoy your evening.

Your ground wire thinking sounds totally logical to me. Not an electrician either. I've done very basic electrical tasks like - replacing outlets, installing light fixtures and ceiling fans. Nothing major though.

I was looking up how LED puck lights are installed. It seems there are some different wiring methods; some direct and some using either 12V or 24V transformers.

As to troubleshooting; Google search said "Inspect all connections for any loose wires or corrosion. Poor connections often result in issues such as flickering or dead LEDs." Same one said that if you have one or more transformers to "Inspect the Power Supply: Test your LED Driver is functioning correctly and providing the appropriate voltage and current." Also "Frequent LED burnout can stem from voltage fluctuations or poor heat dissipation." There was more, but those seemed to be the most common problems I saw.

Perfect.

If it was me I would ask him/her to explain how your LED puck lights are wired/connected. IIRC your home was moved to your land in two sections? Is it possible that one, or more, of the electrical connections became loose in the process? Or perhaps there is a bad wire somewhere? Or maybe when they setup your home they didn't tighten a wire (or two) they should have?

I don't know, those would be some of my questions. Perhaps the electrician can safety check the homes wiring for you. Just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the info. In replacing the lights there was no transformer present, just direct wiring. Yes, the house was moved in 2 sections and the setup guys did a poor job connecting the electrical, which is why I already have a relationship with an electrician. He came out a fixed their screwups. It is possible that this is related to the move, but somehow I doubt it, unless a ground wire didn't get fixed or has since come loose. I'm gonna leave the issue with the professional.

After 2 weeks I'm down to 60% juice in my Lost Mary disposable. Seem to be hitting it quite a lot. The pack says they are good for 15 days after opening the bag and I'm past that. Don't really see how a vape could have a 15 day expiry time.

Had a nice experience with Amazon yesterday. I bought a home security system for $350. I went back to the page yesterday to check up some stuff on adding SD cards and they were on sale for $199. Clicked on the price history button and they were $350 in Oct. Beginning of Nov they went down to $250, then $200 with the 25% Black Friday discount. I got it a week ago, but seemed to have been charged the Oct price.

I got on Chat and talked for a long time. The guy couldn't figure it out. Eventually he said the only thing he could offer me was to send back the one I bought and then order it again at the Black Friday price, which I did. Maybe he just figured I would do that anyway, which I had already figured out. So I get $150 back. I do have to wait 5 to 7 days for the refund but I'm happy.

I got an order from nomnomz a couple weeks ago. It came royal mail/usps. It was only $9 shipping and got here in about a week.
Thanks, I had to check on our norwegian shipping company.

Suspension of postal shipments to the USA lifted on January 1

From January 1, Norway Post will reopen the previously suspended postal shipments to the USA for goods shipments with a value of 0-800 USD: We are launching a new service for goods shipments in letters and packages, which meets the requirements of the US authorities. For you as a customer, this means that – in addition to postage and any customs duties – there will be a fee for import processing and an outlay commission for customs duties. For such shipments, the sender, and no longer the recipient in the USA, must pay import duties and fees. Payment of the fees is made digitally here on Norway Post's website.

And Royal Mail:
Important changes to be aware of
  • New Customs Requirements: As of August 29, 2025, new US customs rules require certain commercial goods to be sent with duties paid.
  • Postal Delivered Duties Paid (PDDP) Service: To meet these new requirements, Royal Mail now offers a PDDP service for commercial shippers, which calculates and collects duties when you purchase postage.
    • Exemptions: You can continue to send letters and gifts under $100 to the US without being affected by the new duty rules.
