I don’t know much about tinnitus, but when I used to smoke hookah, I noticed more earwax, along with mucus in my nose and throat. I have allergies to strong smells, so smoking would trigger extra mucus as a kind of defense reaction. Maybe you’re having a similar response, and what you’re feeling could be linked to that.
Vape still does the same thing for me, but way less.
Sometimes, earwax buildup alone can cause strange sounds or pressure, especially when it softens or shifts with body heat. That might feel like tinnitus in some cases.
I started taking NAC (N-acetylcysteine) supplement a few weeks ago. It helps thin mucus, mainly in the lungs and sinuses, it made me feel better overall. I was suffering with a strong post-nasal drip before, so much that it would affect my breathing. (Which vaping also make it better in comparison with hookah).
If you already went to the doctor he probably gave you a best answer.
