The Lurker Thread

Good morning retired :)

Ugh doesn’t sound like a very pleasant day for you! Hopefully you get through it without too much damage to yourself. Savage lots have saved us a few times. When I got T-boned with my Buick we had to replace the whole passenger side and it was only because of salvage we were able to.

Yep... I had an old Ford Five Hundred that had a shift interlock solenoid go out. Bear in mind, this is usually a 10 dollar part, but because Ford buried it deep inside the shift assembly, you had to buy the whole thing, which at the time was over 500 bucks. Went to the nearest salvage yard and got a replacement assembly for 15 bucks. And it worked until the day the car finally died.

Smok rpm 160

Ive heard conflicting stuff as to wheter and how much smok has improved its build quality. It used to be truly awful. Like destroys shops and breaks in weeks awful. Apparently there may have been improvement after they bought wotofo.
I must admit I had one for a long time I even had the rdta pod which was f****** fantastic my only grumble is make sure you lock the pod kit in your pocket otherwise if you especially wear tight jeans you're going to hit the power button and the chances are your wattage is going to literally burn your pod, I did this with multiple pods of each of the tfv8 pods and the rpm160 pods

New vape shop opening up in town and I have concerns…

So for context I live in a small town past five years or so now - think technically it’s a hamlet. Fewer than 500 people.

OK, let's get real here. You're in a small town (similar to the size of the one I grew up in). Do you honestly think a full on vape shop that caters only to eliquids, mods and supplies will make it past the one year mark? Especially in a location where you're not going to have a whole lot of new customers.

Even in this case where the shop is trying to cater to as many individuals they can, I'd be very surprised if they're still kicking around this time next year. The statistics are rather brutal in this respect. 20-25% of all new businesses fail within the first year. At 5 years, that number rises to almost 50%.

My rain gauge said we got just shy of 2" of rain in the past 24 hrs. Sure looks like we're going to get more today but it won't be as muggy hot. Only going to 83.

I cannot get comfy. We are supposed to be getting rain over the next several days so that might be the reason.

Perry is feeling much better, but against my advice, he mowed my yard today. Heart still beating at 60 bpm, so I guess he is fine. And they say I'm stubborn.

He has to go see a blood doctor now because his platelet count is low. It was low in the hospital, and now it is even lower. I am hoping it is nothing. His half-brother has a low count also. We have a doctor's appt. today that they made for Perry, and we don't even know what it is for. View attachment 1029978 Guess we will find out.
Glad Perry is feeling better. Strange about the platelets. I've got too many so add one more doctor and more pills to add to the mix. Hope his is an easy fix too.

That's funny about the doc visits. I'm having a hard time keeping ours straight too. As Mike says, we spend more time going to the docs than we do visiting friends and family these days.
A few months back, I had my feet examined by a Podiatrist since I had been experiencing some off and on pain .. he mentioned that my main blood flow into the feet seemed good, however, there was some redness around the toe tips .. asked me if I smoked, told him no, but that I do vape .. he concluded that he felt the nicotine was causing some restrictions in the tiny capillaries .. made sense
I would have thought that capillary restriction would lead to pale toe tips since less blood is getting to the tissues? What about neuropathy? Sheesh, always something right?

Mornin' y'all. This morning is going to be tinker on the car day. Have an in cabin filter I need to replace and new wiper blades. I don't know why manufacturers insist on making that cabin filter such a pain in the backside to replace. I have to dismantle the entire glove box in order to access it. The last time I did it, I broke the hinge on the door to the glove box, and it no longer sits flush with the opening. And Ford wants around 600 bucks for a new one. The reason is you can't get just the door. You have to buy the entire assembly. I think I should check a few salvage yards. Might be able to find one on the cheap.

Need to dismantle the driver's door on the other half's truck, too. Regulator is shot and she can't use the window. I hate doing those. Usually end up slicing the bejeebers out of my arms on the sharp metal edges in the door.
