Here I go again. This time I’m back with another review for Dovpo. I have to admit I’m a fan of Dovpo equipment and very much enjoy their tanks and mods. Today I’m going to do my best to cover the Dovpo MVP Box Mod. The MVP uses dual 18650 batteries for a maximum output of 220 watts. It supports coil resistances of .7-3.5 ohms and has a voltage operating range of 6.4-8.4 volts. It has Voltage, Power, and TC modes. The body is made of some sort of zinc alloy and PC which makes the mod very lightweight for a dual battery mod.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the MVP consists of an outer sleeve and a two part box underneath. The front of the sleeve has a color picture of the device inside as well as the MVP and Dovpo names and a few features listed on the side.

The back of the sleeve has a list of the contents, a warning, Dovpo company information, a sticker naming the version color inside, and an authenticity code.





Once the outer sleeve and box top are removed then you see the MVP mod in an insert along with a box containing the charging cable, user manual, and QC certificate. Not a lot of accessories needed or included with this one since there isn’t a tank in the kit. This is a mod only kit.




The bottom of the mod has four tiny little feet to help stabilize it and to keep it from sliding when placed on a flat surface.

The 510 connection plate is held in place by two torx head screws and has a gold plated spring loaded center pin which has pretty much become industry standard from what I’ve been seeing on different test samples that I have received. The MVP can accommodate tanks up to 26mm without overhang.




The two 18650 batteries required to power the MVP are loaded through a removable side panel. Both battery slots are clearly marked with a + and – sign and the battery contacts are spring loaded on one end. There is also a battery band labeled with the Dovpo name that can be used to assist in removing the batteries. At first I thought that the MVP didn’t have a USB port but figured that since it included a charging/upgrade cord then it had to have one. It is included underneath the side panel beside where the batteries are loaded.






The MVP has a .96” TFT display that shows the Dovpo name at the top which is unusual to me. I can’t think of another mod that I have that has the manufacturer name actually on the display. The rest of the display shows the following from top to bottom.

- Two separate battery level indicators

- Set wattage

- Voltage while firing and coil resistance

- Length of time of current puff

- Puff counter

- Unlock/ lock indicator



The MVP has a fair amount of options in the menu system. The button operation is as follows.

- Press the fire button 5X to turn the mod on/off

- Press the fire button 3x to enter the menu with the following options:

1. Power

2. Voltage

3. Temp Ni

4. Temp Ti

5. Temp SS

6. Bright

7. Stats

8. Color

- Press the + and – buttons to lock the adjustment buttons



The MVP wattage adjusts in .5 watt increments when single pressing the + or – buttons but adjusts in 1 watt increments when fast scrolling. The MVP does round robin when the maximum or minimum setting is reached. The chipset also offers multiple safety protections such as:

- Reverse polarity protection

- No load protection

- Short circuit protection

- Over time protection of 10 seconds

- High temperature protection

- Low voltage protection



FINAL THOUGHTS:

I’m not sure exactly what it is but the MVP seems almost like an old school mod and made me a little nostalgic. It has a nice clean look to it with almost no branding. You might not even know what brand it is if it wasn’t for the Dovpo name on the display.

The mod gives the user a lot of options and the display is crisp and clear and I’m able to easily read it. I was a little disappointed that the only display color options were green and red. On mods with selectable display color, I usually go for blue. I would have liked to see that on this one.

I really like that the dual batteries load from the side on this one instead of bottom loading. All three of the round buttons are very clicky and I had a couple times where the – button was rather stiff to press. To me the USB charging port being hidden under the side panel is a great design so you don’t have to worry about dirt and dust getting in the port.

For someone with smaller hands, the MVP might be a little wide but that’s pretty common with dual 18650 mods. I found the fire button position to be quite comfortable and the mod is lightweight enough that I didn’t find it unwieldy or tire from holding it like I have with some heavier mods.

So, would I recommend the Dovpo MVP mod for you? If you want a dual battery mod that works well and has a little bit of an old school feel then yes I would. It’s a fairly lightweight mod and works well while giving the user a good amount of options with the menu system.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


The Gaur-18 comes in a standard box resting in pre cut foam with the charge cable below it in it's own box and the user manual laying on top of both. Having not owned or reviewed the original Guar-21 I didn't really know what to expect but when I picked the mod up it sort of changed colors depending on what angle the light hit the panels, I was sent the Black Gold color.

On some angles it looked all Black but on other angles a nice Gold color came through with another angle showing a Silver color to the panels as the opening picture shows, pretty neat chameleon color effect with this Black Gold color.

This is a very lightweight device that's made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, even though it's very light I don't get a cheap feel from the material but rather a solid strong feeling. Vandy Vape put protective stickers on both panels and I left them on for all pictures I took for this review, I always keep protective stickers on a device as long as I can.





Starting at the top plate it appears to be screwed into the device using 3 Torx screws, there is a outline of a design that encompasses the 510 pin, the 510 pin is Gold plated and spring loaded. Travel distance of the 510 pin is good and the spring must be a beefy one because it is really stiff insuring a solid connection with the atomizer of your choice. At the farthest spot GAUR-18 is very lightly ghost printed, this is the only spot on the device it's name is seen leaving a very clean look without any advertising.





Flipping to the bottom you can see the logo of Matt Culley's Suck My Mod YouTube channel with the words SUCK MY MOD below it, at the very bottom Manufactured by Vandy Vape is shown. Both the Gaur-21 and this Gaur-18 are a collaboration between Matt Culley and Vandy Vape.





As you can see in the picture above there is no bottom battery door, having a bottom battery door opens the possibility of a accidental opening if the device is placed on a solid surface hard, most bottom doors are fine and can withstand the constant placement of the device on a solid surface but over time they can weaken. The Guar-18 is a C-Frame design that solves the problem, I personally prefer the C-Frame design overall.

There are many features on this device and one of them is after removing the batteries you can actually rinse the device off under running water because of the PCBA being waterproof. Having a waterproof printed circuit board assembly is a great bonus but remember you have to ( REMOVE THE BATTERIES ) first.

Very rarely do you see proper battery polarity labeled in white as most battery housings are Black in color, Vandy Vape has done a great job by placing a white sticker with black labeling of polarity symbols scoring a A+, this is how it should be done.

The bottom battery contacts are spring loaded and you need to insert batteries bottom end first, these springs are also pretty beefy and should stand the test of time. The C-Frame battery door cover connects very securely and I have no play oy wiggle at all. There are 2 nubs and a slot top and bottom on the backside of the batteries that lock into 2 holes and raised tabs inside the cover when placed on.









Turning the attention to the display screen which isn't the largest but has all the important information that's needed on a screen, font size is large enough to read without squinting but I would have liked the information in the center of the screen to be shrunk just a bit and have a battery % reading included on the display. The layout is as most Mod's are.

It is nice especially in todays day and age to see a manufacturer go above and beyond as Vandy Vape has done with the Gaur-18, the battery polarity symbols are nice but making a menu system with so many options that can be ACTIVATED or DEACTIVATED is a great feature by itself.

Yes you can turn features on/off in the settings menu and that's a feature that I appreciate, I usually only vape in wattage but every so often I will vape in Bypass mode so not needing to even see any other modes on the screen when scrolling through the different power modes makes the option to turn them off and not be seen great. There are other features that can be turned on/off in the settings menu as well (Full Customization For The User)

I will explain a couple of the features on the Gaur-18's SETTINGS MENU that some of you might not have seen before or even know what their function is. When the selection is highlighted that feature is engaged. ( Green Is On/ Grey Is Off )

FINAL IMPRESSIONS





I saw no need for a pros and cons list as I've told you all the pros of the device and the 1 con of not having a battery % indicator, other than that the mod is a winner. I really love the Black Gold diamond pattern and the way the color on the panels can change in different light and with different angles of light.

Performance is tops all the way around and is feature packed with options to disengage some features and have them not even appear is a awesome feature in itself.

i think if your in the market for a dual 18650 device that is both strong while being lightweight you can't go wrong with this Gaur-18 Mod from Vandy Vape. I can't speak for how well the Temperature Control Modes work but wattage, voltage and bypass work great.

I actually noticed that other reviewers received a slightly different set with a 0.3 0hm spare coil and ZTank with spare drip tips, mine is with a KAL 1.6Ω and the ZTank has a standard plastic tip (unchangeable).

That's funny but I actually struggled a bit to unscrew the tank. Instruction said to twist and pull but there is an air hole ring there as well and I was afraid to twist it too hard not to damage it and tried to pull harder but the key was to twist harder and then pull gently LoL I hope this advice will help some future owners of this great kit.

On Gozee Mod it is possible to install tanks with a diameter up to 25mm without external protrusion. The ZTank is good enough for most vapers I'd say. It has a good capacity, easy slide n fill process, air adjustment is good, I prefer the 1 airhole vaping process on it. The only con is that you need to dump and clean the tank in order to change coils.

Tank filling process:
Pretty easy and no leakage

In comparison with Klypse:
It's just slightly bigger and wider and it's incredibly lightweight if you'll compare it to some other kits with similar parameters.

Interesting that Klypse by Innokin recently won 3 major Vape Awards but no info about GoZee winning any I believe it deserves to win some cause I'm really impressed with the kit.

Pros:
- Affordable price
- Compact design
- Lightweight! (no, not this time )
- Good and quality build
- Easy to use - event beginner vapers or older ppl will not have problems with using it (menu is also simple to navigate)
- Nice Tank - transparent, easy to fill and to check the e-juice level, good airflow adjustments, RDL / MTL up to you, nice vapourproduction.
- Great coil compatibility
- 2100mAh built-in battery with quick Type-c charging (full charge in less than 1h!)

Cons:
- As I previously mentioned, my tank was without a 510 drip and although it's not bad as it was with a standard plastic one, the option with a possibility to use a 510 drip (maybe the one you prefer) it's a better option I believe.
- charging cord could've been a bit longer
- after using it for a bit I now think my other kits are heavy!

My Final Thoughts on GoZee kit:
Innokin created a modern, nice looking, easy to use, quality build yet affordable (around 30$ + shipping) compact vape kit with an interesting design and all needed features of a modern vape (long lasting battery with TypeC, overheat and other kinds of protection, coils/options great compatibility, nice clear tank with an airflow adjustment)

I have a 2nd device and I'll gladly give it to one of my friends who is struggling to switch from smoking to vaping as I did with Klypse previously.

Overall rank 9/10 by Dreamvaper.
I'm fairly impressed with it and I can recommend this device

Looking for Aspire Nautilus Replacement Coils.

I’m very pleased to be back with you today to present another review for Dovpo. I just started doing some reviews for them last year and then lost contact but was able to re-establish contact with the new ECF representative Dorothy. She has sent me the Pump Squonker by Dovpo X Across. They put months of research and design into developing this mod for us so I have high expectations. This one is a mechanical mod but has protections built in such as overheat and overcharge protection. One thing I’ve noticed with doing reviews for Dovpo is that they don’t usually have a lot of promotional images and instead seem to prefer to let the products speak for themselves. I think that’s a good thing. Let’s go ahead and take a look at this newly released squonk mod.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Pump Squonker is the usual Dovpo black box with writing on the front that sometimes you have to tilt the box in the light to see. On the front is the Dovpo name in the upper right corner with the Across name and logo. On the bottom is the Pump Squonker name in kind of a high tech looking font.

The back side of the box side of the box gives the contents list, some features, website information for Across, an authenticity sticker, and a label naming the color of the device. I liked how the box didn’t have the outer sleeve like most review samples that I receive.





Once opened, you are greeted by what I think is a very attractive looking mod and the 18650 battery adapter. Below that, the included accessories which includes some o rings, battery wraps, a coupon for Across Vape, user manual and battery safety card.





The Pump Squonker is a semi mechanical mod. There is a chipset with some safety features built in like short circuit and overheat protections so it isn’t like using a fully mechanical mod. I personally haven’t used a mechanical mod in several years. I’ve been vaping for 13 years and had a couple mechanical mods in my early days.

There is not a screen but there is an indicator light underneath the pump button that will alert you to fault conditions. You can use the fire button to turn the device on and off and read that you can also turn the pump off but I’m not really sure why I would want to do that.

This mod is made of Aluminum alloy that is anodized and also stainless steel using a precision CNC machining. Most of the body is aluminum but the 510 connection and some of the squonk mechanism parts are stainless steel. The liquid container that comes with it is made of PC so you don’t want to use tank cracker liquids with this one.



The indicator light has multiple indications that are as follows.

- Low power = Flashes 5 times

- High temperature = Flashes 4 times

- Over time vaping = Five slow flashes

- Short circuit = Flashes three times

- Check atomizer = Three slow flashes

- When the mod or pump is turned on or of the indicator lights one time

- Indicator flashes two times to tell you to unlock the pump



The top plate of the mod has Across Vape and Dovpo engraved in it. The 510 center squonk pin is gold plated and there is a replaceable o ring around the outside of the 510 pin opening. The 510 connection is held in with two torx screws and the top plate has two additional torx screws to secure it. The top is wide enough to fit a 25mm tank. I’ve been running the Recurve V2 on mine and think it is a good fit.



The liquid fill bottle and the battery retaining cap both are knurled to make them easier to handle. I very much like that the battery cap is an outer thread cap instead of an internal with the flip up lever like we’ve been seeing on a lot of mods lately. The bottom of the fill bottle is clearly labeled open with an arrow for ease of use.

The inside of the battery compartment is clearly marked with a + and – sign on each end. I do find it kind of odd that the battery compartment is left open on the side. I guess if you were using an 18650 with the included adapter then it would be protected but I prefer to use a 21700 whenever I have the option. When using a 21700 or 20700 then the battery is left exposed. I’m guessing that is why there were battery wraps included in the kit.





Below you can see that the liquid tank is removed. The PC tank simply threads onto the body of the mod so when you fill the bottle, the mod has to be upright to screw the bottle on or you will spill it. The bottle holds 9ml of liquid.

The pump tube and the internal area the bottle screws over is made of 304 stainless steel. Personally since I know a little bit about stainless steel, I would have preferred the parts coming in contact with the liquid to be 316 stainless steel which is food grade but however most mod manufacturers choose to either use 304 or not tell us which one they use and simply say it’s made of stainless steel.



FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to say that I have very much enjoyed testing the DOVPO X Across Pump Squonker mod the past week or so. I have really only gotten into using squonk mods regularly for the past year or so and the more I use them the more I like them. I did review another pump style device before but it used a proprietary tank and coils which can become quite the pain. With this one you can use any rda with a squonk pin or you could even use an rda without a squonk pin and shut off the pump but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying a squonk mod.

I decided to run a Recurve 2 rda on the Pump Squonker with a .35 ohm single coil. I used a 21700 battery and the mod fired very quickly and it was a nice strong hit until the battery got very low. The pump on this only pushes liquid and doesn’t suck back excess liquid like a regular squonk bottle does so you need to get to know your tank and get a feel for how long to press the pump button. The rda I was using has a pretty deep juice well so I was able to press the pump button for a count of about 10-15. I didn’t time it but instead just counted in my head. After initially filling the rda, I was able to get several puffs before I felt I needed to pump more liquid. I was probably a little over cautious until I got a good feel for it but was pressing the pump button for a count of about 5-7 each time after the initial fill.

At first I thought it was really odd that the liquid bottle is just open on top and screws into the mod but after filling it a couple times it was actually easier than some bottles I’ve used. I just filled the bottle up to about 80% each time to allow room for the pump tube that goes down into the liquid. I do have to admit that I have over pumped liquid a couple times and had a little spillage until I got a better feel for how long to press the pump button.

The mod is really quite lightweight being made mostly of aluminum. The fire button and pump button are positioned very well for me. I use an Abyss mod daily and the Pump Squonker is just a little bigger than the Abyss that I love.

The entire mod to me has a nice feeling of a quality device. The knurling on the battery cap and bottle makes it very easy to get a grip for changing batteries and filling the liquid bottle. So, would I recommend the Dovpo X Across Pump Squonker mod for you? If you like squonkers and the idea of a semi mechanical mod where you don’t have to squeeze a bottle appeals to you then absolutely I would recommend it. As a matter of fact, I will most likely be buying another one at some point. I’ve been looking to expand my squonker collection which is fairly small at this point.

Welcome back to round two of my Voopoo reviews. The last time I covered the Voopoo Vmate Infinity Edition pod kit. This time I will be covering the Voopoo Vmate E pod kit that was sent to me by Voopoo to provide a fair and honest review. The E also uses ITO flavor technology which makes sense since it can use the same pods as the Infinity. The E has a 1200mah internal battery with an output range of 5-20 watts. This one also comes with a dust cover to protect the mouthpiece. Like I mentioned, it uses the same Vmate V2 pods. However this one does come with two pods unlike the Infinity. Before I received the E and the Infinity, I had assumed that the Infinity was the flagship product but actually the E has more battery and some different features like multiple battery lights and airflow adjustment. I am hoping that the flavor is as good with this one as it was with the Infinity. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the kit and some promotional images.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the E is a very nice black box that has a textured look to it. The Voopoo and Vmate E names appear in gold as well as a sketch of the device. Very nicely done in my opinion. The back side of the box has the contents list, warning, company information, and an authenticity code along with a big sample sticker. Yours won’t have the sticker.

The sides of the box have some features listed as well as a few QR codes you can follow for more information. A label is on one side stating the color version of the device inside.








Once the box is opened, the accessory box is found and underneath sits the Vmate E with one pod pre-installed in the device. Inside the accessory box is a second pod, USB-C charging cable, and user manual. The two pods included in the kit are a .7 ohm just like what was included in the Infinity kit and a second pod that is 1.2 ohms.





The pods included with the kit are both side fill. The fill plug on them is very soft and flexible. The pod opening is fairly large and I was able to fill with both a 10ml and 50ml bottle without any spillage. The pods do not have any magnets on them. There are just the two electrical contacts that meet up with the spring loaded pins in the pod opening on the battery. They simply lock into the battery opening. It is very secure and takes a bit of effort to remove.








The Vmate E I received is the white inlaid gold and has a really nice appearance in my opinion. It kind of reminds me of an antique lighter or something. On one side is a polished gold surface that is polished using 14 different processes. As a matter of fact it is so polished that you can see my reflection in my picture. Almost like a mirror.

The opposite side is covered in a nice white leather. It isn’t really padded but has a nice texture to it. The Voopoo name is stamped into the leather near the bottom and there are four battery indicator lights that illuminate when a puff is taken or it is plugged in to charge. The E also includes a dust cap that very nicely matches the rest of the body and still allows you to see the liquid level through the cut out in the mod and cap. Unfortunately the cap cannot be stored on the device so you’ll have to put it in a pocket or something. The four lights on the front indicate the battery level as follows.

- Four indicator lights are on in white = Fully charged

- Three lights on in white = 50-75%

- Two lights on in white = 25-50%

- One light on in white = 10-25%

- One light on in red = <10%


There are also status indicators as follows.

- Pod detected = Each light flashes in sequence

- Pod undetected during ignition = Indicator light flashes twice in red

- Low Power = Indicator light flashes 10 times in red

- Over time vaping = All indicators flash 5 times at the same time

- Short circuit = Indicator light is on in red for 2 seconds

- Over heat protection = Indicator light is on for 5 seconds in red







The Vmate E has a built in airflow control which is a very nice feature considering it comes with a 1.2 ohm pod as well as the .7 ohm pod. For those that want a tighter MTL experience then the airflow can be tightened down. Even closed all the way there is a little airflow which would give a very tight MTL for those that appreciate that. On the opposite side the words “Designed by Voopoo” are engraved into the metal.




FINAL THOUGHTS:

Just like with the Infinity edition, it has been a real pleasure testing the Voopoo Vmate E. The dust cap is a nice touch to keep foreign material out of the mouthpiece when pocket carrying the device. The finish of the metal is very nice but is not a fingerprint magnet. The texture and appearance of the leather on the other side is very nice. The only issue I have at all with the Vmate E is that the entire body is rounded so it will not stand up and will not stay on its thin sides so when you place it on a table or other surface then it will always be resting either on the shiny metal side or on the leather which could leave marks depending on the surface.

I thought that both the 1.2 and .7 pods produced very good flavor and vapor for a pod device. I liked the .7 pod with the airflow completely open and the 1.2 pod with the airflow closed down a little over half way. Both pods produced warm and flavorful vapor.

So, what’s not to like about a pocket friendly pod with a very nice appearance and great performance? Not much. I like it very much. So obviously I would recommend it for you.

VMATE E-VOOPOO VAPE Spark Your Life

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They should never be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
This cell is a decent performer, equal to the Sinowatt 30SP, but not as good as the Samsung 30Q or Murata VTC6. I have not tested its cycle life. Check my 18650 Ratings and E-Scores table (link below) to see how well this cell performed against others.

The cell-to-cell performance consistency (for four cells) was decent but not as good as cells from the big manufacturers. However, the capacities for two of the cells was 3059mAh and 3064mAh and this is great consistency.

Its 15A continuous rating for this cell seems reasonable but the 35A pulse/burst rating is ridiculously high. A two second 35A discharge pulse from a freshly charged cell brought it down to about 3.25V.

Was this 35A rating based on voltage sag? Cell temperature? Cycle life? A combination of these things? Or was it just something the cell can survive for a couple of pulses?

If we just say the rating is 35A does that mean I can keep pulsing the cell at 35A until it is empty? No, that would make the cell much too hot! We need to know how the rating was set and what limits it has to know how it can be properly used. Otherwise it is a useless number.

Some of the large manufacturers have higher non-continuous ratings but they tell you the limits for the rating (voltage sag, max temperature, effect on duty cycle, etc.). I would love to see Imren do the same.

Imren has told me that they are committed to using accurate ratings and are even willing to get rid of the high pulse/burst/max ratings on the wrap. This is great to hear but we will have to see what happens. It will take time for Imren to redo the wraps and get them into distribution though.

Their continuous ratings seem to be accurate (more test reports coming soon). It’s the other numbers that are a problem for me and I look forward to seeing what Imren does.
